Great place for late night deep fried goodness in your face. Like all of it in your face at once and it's covered in sauce, which if you like sauce is really good. They have such great novelty foods like deep fried desserts and the staff is really friendly. Plus they have awesome stickers that say 'I heart Fat Doobies' after one of their sandwiches and I find that hilarious. Fat Shack had previously earned a 5 star rating when it opened in the beginning. However, my last few visits here have been unbelievably horrible. I went in a couple of weeks ago to get some wings and was told by a worker named Bailey that they had already turned off their grill for the night. This was at approximately 12:20am and their posted hours stated they were open until 1am. A couple of weeks after my last attempted visit, we decided to give Fat Shack another chance. We placed our order via telephone and our total came to $46 When I went in to pick up my order we had a new total of $68! Despite being thrown off by this, I elected to pay the extra money in cash and the rest on my card. I just wanted to get my stuff and get home. After showing the receipt to my mother, the person who took the order, she said the total was incorrect. So we left our food in the car, brought our receipt back in and asked for a more detailed break down. The same employee from last time, Bailey, appeared from the back area to come help. She identified herself as the shift manager and proceeded to tell us that their prices have gone up, which is why our bill is higher than normal. We insisted on asking for an itemized breakdown of our bill. She printed off a different copy, slid it under the glass and we saw that they had somehow added mozzarella sticks and an extra sandwich to my bill. We told her that we didn't order these things and we didn't want to be charged for them. She then blamed it on a system glitch that they have experiencing lately and informed me that I would be receiving a refund on my card. I told them that they had $20 in cash lying in their cash register that didn't belong to them. She wouldn't give it back and insisted it would be going back on my card instead. I finally told her "that it's ridiculous that they won't give back my cash, but whatever, I'm not going to argue with you over $20". When I get home to eat, I open my luke warm sandwich and discover they drenched the damn thing in ketchup after specifically asking for it to be dry. By the way, that credit they told me I would be receiving in 1-2 days? Yeah it still hasn't shown up in my account. We were at one time loyal customers here, but with everything that's happened lately I don't think I'll be back here again. If you do decide to come here, check your order to ensure it was made correctly and double check your receipt to make sure you haven't been charged extra. read more

Ordered my food and it said 15 min until pick up. Got there 15 minutes later and they said they still haven't even started on our food. Our food sat there under the heat lamp for 10 more minutes until the guy up front realized it was already done. We were there for a while 50 minutes waiting for our food (mind you it was 2 am). The chicken was tender and the batter was well seasoned and delicious - not greasy and not heavy. I'm pretty sure they make their own fries too, which was a tiny bit too greasy for my liking but still good. Second time, I ordered the classic cheeseburger and Mac and cheese bites. The Mac and cheese bites.... I ate all of them in under 5 minutes. Again, the batter really makes the bite good even though I'm pretty sure the Mac and cheese they used was Kraft. But still cheesy and good. The cheeseburger was below average. The bun to meat ratio was not proportional. There was too much bread vs the thickness of the patty so every time you take a bite, it's just bread overload. The patty itself was a bit underseasoned and not quality tasting, which I guess is expected for a "fast food" joint. Maybe it would've helped if the bun was more toasted. I was over the moon when my 27 year old son told me that Fat Shack had opened in Bellingham. After studying the menu and realizing I could order all of my favorite snacks on one fat sandwich, I decided that when we went I'd order the Fat Doobie but substitute Jalepeno Poppers for the Mozzarella Sticks. Looking at all the photos, I joyfully thought, "At last! A restaurant the likes of which I've only seen on shows like 'Drive-ins, Diners and Dives'!" So, when we finally went I was pretty excited. First off, the cashier was super friendly and nice, so no complaints there. But as we waited for our food, my sons sandwiches came and yet mine followed an entire 15 minutes later and meanwhile, when I asked about it in case they had forgotten me, I was told they were waiting on the poppers. "Yay!", I thought, realizing my sandwich would be hot and fresh from the fryer, which is hard to find in fast food joints unless you specify that you want it hot and frash and that you don't mind waiting. Much to my surprise, when they just handed me a tightly wrapped, compact sandwich with no plate or basket, it was less than hot and upon opening it, it was a mushy mass that in NO way resembled the photos of distinct layers of identifiable ingredients. Worse yet, when I ate it, all I could taste was fries and chicken. Alarmed, I went in search of an onion ring or popper and finally unearthed a stringy, plain onion and a single strip of plain jalepeno. My suggestion? Learn the art of timing food preparation so orders and ingredients are all ready at the same time. In addition, serve sandwiches on paper in a basket. And finally, learn presentation and layer sandwiches neatly, with all items represented....uh, or simply put, make it look like the attractive sandwiches in the photos, for crying out loud. read more

The single angus burger had just what I wanted, a nicely glazed bun with cheese, lettuce, picked, tomato, onions and their special sauce which kind of taste like thousand island but I'm here for it! Although their food was amazing and I would probably come back for the food, I didn't have such a smooth transaction. But I will take 100% responsibility for my mistake by ordering pick up on door dash which said my order would of been ready 2 hours after it was placed. I called the restaurant to see if that was true and they were confused to why it said that and would have the food ready in 15 minuets. My husband really liked his choice of the Fat Shack with jalapeño honey mustard. Over all it was too spicy for me but I really liked all the flavors. I ordered the Fat Viking. It's suppose to come with BBQ sauce but since I'm not normally a fan I opted out.
