I was in Colfax for the St. John Cathedral 'Celestia' show, and decided to stop for some food. It was late, around 10, so I did miss the biscuits but if they're as goos as the pizza, that says enough. And don't even get me STARTED on the garlic knots--I don't think I've ever seen better looking or better tasting garlic knots. The food came out quick, and the service in general was very nice. Food: Used to love the pizza here. So large. Such a lot of very good pizza for the money! But definitely NOT today. (And yes, I'm sending that as a shout (out) to the world). On Wednesday I buy my co-workers lunch to talk business. Today, I thought, they'll love a good Sully's salad and a pizza. Have done that many times in the past and they've all loved it. Today, it was still a good salad, but the pizza was absolutely the worst pizza I've had in Denver for decades. Really bad. No dough in the center area of the pizza and the edges were in places so thick they were undercooked and mushy. The "no dough in the center" issue resulted in a pizza so thin in the center 6" that all the pizza was in that area was a perhaps 1/16 of an inch of only burned cheese mixed in with some hardened red sauce. Crunchy to the touch and awful tasting. The pics show the absence of any dough and you could literally see through the pizza where the cheese had burned away leaving empty space. This is a sad story about a once-loved pizza institution in Denver I have frequented for way over 20 years. I'm sorry to tell this story. It may be that with the influx of East High students ordering a single slice at a time and swamping their resources the place just can't handle it any more. But the bottom line is, as my grandmother used to say, "if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen." Sully's, if you're gonna serve that kind of sorry excuse for pizza then give it up and get outta the kitchen! OMG Denver Biscuit Company (also falls under the name of Atomic Cowboy/Fat Sully's) is absolutely fantastic! Their biscuits are some of the butteriest, moistest, flakiest biscuits I've ever had! I'm glad there are a handful of DBC locations throughout the city of Denver so the wealth is well spread. We came here for breakfast and I like that this DBC in particular is housed in the same space as two other restaurants, so that there's food options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and a wide variety of it all as well. Given that it was breakfast though, we all ordered the biscuits and what a hearty breakfast it was! These biscuits are massive - frankly, everything here comes in massive proportions including the largest cinnamon roll I've ever seen! Not only are the biscuits massive, but they're essentially sandwiches and come piled on with a ton of ingredients as well! I ordered the K-Mack biscuit sandwich, which had a Korean spin on all of it. It was Korean fried buttermilk chicken (so tender and flavorful!), toasted sesame seeds, sesame mayo, pickled daikon (the perfect burst of tart freshness - could've done with even more given how heavy all the other ingredients are), shredded cabbage, and green onions. The chicken was perfect, the biscuit was perfect, my belly was wildly happy! On top of it all, I added a side of McHashbrowns because I had to try what these were, given that I do really enjoy the McDonald's hashbrowns. These ended up being some of the best hashbrowns I've ever had. Twice the thickness of a McDonald's hashbrown and in a triangle shape, perfectly crispy on the outside and potato-y on the inside! It was way too much food and easily split into two full meals, but it was so worth it! The giant biscuit cinnamon roll that my friends and I ordered was so good as well. Like I said earlier in this review, it was truly massive and we also added the option of the bacon bits on top because we wanted to try that out. The result was delicious - salty and sweet! And even among the three of us, we couldn't finish the cinnamon roll given that we each had ordered biscuit sandwiches as well. We all ended up taking leftovers home for another meal in addition to not even being hungry by the time dinner rolled around that same day, even after a ton of hiking and exploring! Great place for NY style pizza in Denver! Idk why the reviews for this place are such a mixed bag, but I *almost* let that stop me from trying it out. On a whim, I ordered delivery for lunch because I didn't have time to go out and grab food. So I can't speak to the ambiance of the restaurant or the staff unfortunately. The pizza arrived hot, fresh, and earlier than the stated timeframe. (Kudos to my delivery driver, she was great!) The pizza was HUGE and tasted great. It had that crispy/chewing crust but was thin enough to fold in half. Just perfect. I ate two slices and was more than satisfied. There were 8 slices total, so plenty for leftovers! S/N: I love that they have the ordering and delivery process fully integrated. I just went to Fat Sully's website and checked out. No need to install a million apps or go to another wesbite. Now my only regret is not ordering the waffle fries, but I'll just have to try those next time. The dessert options looked good too. I definitely recommend giving this place a try. I'm very surprised by the lower reviews. I've had nothing but good experiences at this location. I've tried the pizza which is delicious and the biscuits for breakfast which are always a hit. My review today is more about their smashed burger. It was outstanding! The beef was flavorful and the burger was cheesy with soft pillowy buns. Waited 40 minutes after our first order to be asked if we needed anything else. Made eye contact with the bartender and several servers looking for service with no luck. Might be the type of place where they expect to be called out at. Doesn't feel like that vibe, but perhaps that's the regular clientele. At one point during our stay, a server tripped on the stairs and splashed ranch dressing all over my legs and shorts. She looked up afterwards and defiantly said "I didn't get any ranch on you". I don't think my standards are crazy high for a place that sells pizza by the slice, but IF I ordered ranch, I wouldn't expect it to be splashed on my legs. Been here 5 years ago and wasn't impressed. It has changed!!! Food was delicious, service was fast and attentive, drinks were fire! We had the mystery shot and it was no mystery that there was definitely liquor in it! Mixed drinks were good and worth the price and the ale flavors were fun. The garlic knots and dipping sauce are a must. Build your own pizza, wings and burger was great. The slices of pizza are huge. Location is a challenge to park but it's doable and free. My friends and I came here for lunch before our flight back to CA. The line was long so I had to grab a slice (love me some pizza) to hold me over. Oh man, the pep/mushroom slice was freakin phenomenal. A big slice, thin crust, undercarriage had decent char and their tomato sauce had the perfect combination of acid and sweetness, great balance. They are known for their giant slices of pizza that you can get anyway you want with the toppings they offer. The price is really good too for the size of the piece you get. It was the biggest piece I've ever personally had. It was really good too. I ordered several toppings which probably isn't the best idea since the pizza is thin new york style so my toppings made it heavy. Ben got less than I did and his held up better. LOL. The server was friendly and was attentive when needed and gave us our space as well which is always appreciated. We will definitely be back for more pizza. read more

A great way to spend a Wednesday evening! The restaurant is very chilled on the week nights. They have a walk up window and it's open til midnight if you need a late night snack. We opted to dine in. Pretty bad. My family has eaten here three times. The first time was actually good. We liked the pizza, and our son enjoyed his chicken tenders. The only complaint was stylistic: the pizza is so large, and they don't offer other sized. The second time was good. We just got two slices. The third time was 0 stars, bad. We ordered at 5 PM, not a busy time, and everything arrived burned. The chicken tenders were too tough to chew through. It couldn't be eaten. The chicken sandwiches also were burned. Even the waffle fries were well over cooked, like crackers. We tossed most of the meal into the trash. Even with the first decent experience, I would not order chicken here again. Some other things to consider: the pizzas are really big, which, you have to plan for. Also, the accoutrements on the chicken sandwich are sweet - sweet tartar sauce (or whatever they call it) and the sweet pickles. I had the displeasure of dining on Friday night with my family. The food and service were ok but the behavior I had my dinner interrupted with from a manager is truly unacceptable. All of a sudden we can hear a manager (rainbow hat, female) yelling at the top of her lungs at a guy in the kitchen (red hair) in such a unprofessional manner that I should have got up and asked her to stop. I myself am a restaurant owner and if any of my leaders spoke to a team member in this manner they would be terminated. It disrupted our dinner, visibly embarrassed the employee and she just kept going. Kudos to him for not telling her where to go and walking out after being abused like that I cannot imagine anything that egregious that would warrant yelling at your employee like that in front of other employees and an entire restaurant. So, the pizza is good, the biscuit time is great too, but the bottom line is that they serve the best burger in Denver. First, it is the best burger. Second, it is $6 during HH and $9 the other times...ridiculous value. Pic below. I have raved about this in the past, so let me give you a new "level" talk. There are different levels of quality, as you can expect with any kitchen. On their worst day, the burger is in the conversation for the best in town still, but it is debatable. I would accept other people's lobbying on those days. On their GOOD days, there is NO argument. It is the best, hands down. Not even close. They have TV's with sports on, neutral music at an energetic level, and a massive bar area, where one side is a higher level (though I am a lower level person). They have fantastic beers on tap, and my go-to is Rare Trait. Oh, and they include IPA's on their HH specials. Score. Great selection of hot sauce, although you don't need ANYTHING on the burger. No hot sauce, ketchup, mustard, etc. The staff is always on point. Today, I had Mel and Jackie behind the bar, and my experience was flawless as usual. But, you sense the high level of service, along with cohesiveness with their colleagues no matter when you go. And, you should go there. Order the other stuff, and I am sure you will be happy. I had heard great things about this place and loved the biscuits at the Denver Biscuit Company, which is technically in the same building but a different kitchen...which prompted me to check it out. While decent in flavor, the pizza was just lacking. I tried the pepperoni and my friend tried a plain slice. When you buy by the slice it is a lot larger than a slice if you were to buy the whole pie. One slice is not quite enough for a meal, 2 is just too much. The flavoring of the sauce was superb but the crust was soggy and the top pretty oily. My sense is that the pizza is sitting for a while and they throw on toppings and stick it in the oven to order. This was the choice to eat at before our timed zoo entry for zoo lights. I had seen this place on the 5280 top Denver pizza places bracket from 2020. As a family we love NY style pizza as we can get a lot and in this case go half and half. The 26" is dine in only so if you want the big one keep that in mind. Overall I was satisfied with the pizza. I was not satisfied with the time it took for the pizza. We had set out 1.5 hours to eat this pizza before our timed entry and we arrived at the gates 10 minutes late even thought it was only 7 min drive. It wasn't overly busy in the restaurant and the 26" took almost 50 minutes to be done. If I were to return I would only order Togo and skip the stop in. Hands down one of my favorite places in Denver. There's multiple locations around the city and I would highly recommend you go. Go often. Run, do not walk. I have no idea why, but the Fat Sullys Salad is one of my favorite things to order at any restaurant, anywhere. It's soooo good! All the ingredients are always fresh and everything just WORKS together. I could live off this salad. And I love that you can order it for one or more people. The dressings are incredible. The ranch and the chipotle ranch are to die for. Some of the best ranches in Denver. The pizza slices are HUGE and I love that I can order the salad and the pizza and be full but not feel like a glutton. You can get them any way you want, so what's not to like? They have so many options! I get a different slice every time I come. You can order whole pizzas but why conform everyone to the same thing when every person in your party can be their unique self? I also love that it comes QUICK and that if one if not enough, you can sit there and drink one of the amazing beers on tap and order yourself another! Like the sister location in Colorado Springs, this place is legit. I do suggest ordering the pizza well done. It's always crispy and perfect. Not burnt, ever from my experience. Our favorite will always be spinach, mushroom and pepperoni. The 26" is big! One slice will leave you full, but! If your order the 26" you have leftovers for a couple of the days and this pizza heats up phenomenally in the oven. We got a table for 5 right away at 2 on a Saturday.
