First of all I think Fatburger, not the BH one, is the best burger in LA. It's a chain. The worst of all the ones I've been to is the one in Beverly Hills. The best BTW is at 3rd and La Cienega and the one on Santa Monica Blvd and Sepulveda. The BH is sooo inconsisten. I never know what I'll get. Today I got small 2 patty burger with nothing on it. I ordered it with cheese, pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, mayo and mustard. It was so dry I couldn't swallow it without a drink. The onion rings were good. Fries were wilted and cold. Why is this? Fat burgers are 99% of the time very good. First time I ordered wings to day m and my fault to order boneless, but they were very good, juicy but not so hot. The location is amazing for being off rodeo drive. Upon entrance, we were greeted which is always a great feeling. The cashier was attentive and asked what we exactly wanted and needed on our burgers. Then confirmed our order once more. My wife and I are huge when it comes to customer service. "You can't rush perfection." That's what the sign on the drive thru reads and as a life long fan of fatburger, its a very appropriate mantra. Fatburger reminds me of all the greatest backyard BBQ burgers I've eaten in my life, even though I believe they cook the burgers on a flat top grill. What I mean is all the flavors from the super fresh toppings combined with the deliciousness of the burger bring back all of my tastiest memories. I've eaten some amazing burgers in my life, but Fatburger is my all time favorite. It just checks all the boxes on what makes a burger awesome (for me anyway) and I'll pick it over anywhere else 10 times out of 10. If you like old fashioned burgers, and you are patient, just go already. My personal recommendation is King burger with everything and then add cheese and and egg. After living in the area for the past few years and walking and driving by countless times, my family and I finally came in last night for dinner. My girlfriend and I are recently on the Keto diet so we were on the fence in coming in but I was craving wings Haha And my son can always go for a burger and fries. Walking in I liked that we were properly greeted. I say all the time I'm a customer service first type of guy and that was the right way to make an impression on us. It being our first time at any Fatburger I had questions about their menu and wings. We had a very helpful and patient server which was much appreciated. The cooks were also very nice, chatting with us about the food and allowed me to sample the sauce flavors. Not many places would offer samples so I like and appreciate them doing so. My girlfriend ordered a plain burger with cheese on no bun. I ordered a 10 wing order, bone in and split with two sauces. 5 coconut jerk and the other 5 dry rub. My son ordered a burger kids meal with a chocolate milkshake. Everything we ordered was very good. And very flavorful. I like the space and the cool sports hang out feel they have going on. It seems that Angelenos are always talking about Fatburger. Okay. I was on my way to eat at a deli on S. Santa Monica Blvd, only to find that it's now a dessert place. Well, I walked by Fatburger on my way there, so why not try it out. I had a XXL with chili and cheese. A little on the pricey side, but it was one pound, so you get what you pay for. I added onion rings and a large Coke to it, and sat down at the window to enjoy the scene of the aloof and the pretentious walking down Beverly Drive. Side notes: Unlike many Yelpers, I did get good customer service. I also saw that they have pics of those who ordered the XXXL (1.5 pounds!) and finished it, I'll need to try that next time. Was that Jay Leno I saw on the Wall Of Fame for eating that XXXL? My meal was okay. The onion rings were better than average. But if I had to do it again, I wouldn't get the chili. It smothered the patty until I could barely taste the beef. They have three flavors of Tabasco sauce to use if you wish, and the regular Tabasco did help. Oh well, live and learn. This location is dope and the music tends to be good in a true LA feel as if at a local barbecue and that has a lot to do with the staff there who try to be as clean and fun to be around as possible and do a nice job so please remember to tip them as not enough customers do on burgers and such locally. Ordered takeout just got home unwarapped the burgers and had to take pictures because the poor quality is unbelievable. I empathize with people that have jobs working at fast food restuarants and seldom complain but i feel obligated to. I will say the service was good, staff was nice, and the shop was clean. But i strongly suggest you check out the pictures because the food is the most vital part. When I called to complain the employee was very nice and applogized then put the manager on the phone (also very nice). Tried their impossible burger which is plant based and no meat. It was okay. It is good if you crave meat and want something but not something a meat eater to get. Worst customer service ever!!! Dont ever come here, its a waste of time. I will write the details later!!! Details: This place is unbelievable!!! When I called to order for delivery they told me that they are very busy today so they can't accept any orders for delivery. I totally understand so I decided to just order for pick up. I called them around 1 pm and since they are busy I told them that I will pick it up around 2pm. So when I got to Fatburgers, the cashier named "Brian" said that they do not have enough cash for change. So they took the cash of the customer in front of me and when he saw me paying with cash as well, he took my money and gave the cash to his co-worker to go to the nearest bank to get some change. He didn't even ask me what my name was or what order I was there to pick up. This was already taking 15 minutes of my lunch break. I followed up with the cashier and asked him what was the hold up. He said that the lady with the cash was not back yet from the bank with the change. This was holding up my 30 minutes lunch break. By the time I received my food, it was already time for me to head back to work. So, a few more minutes pass and I decided to cancel my order because this was taking way too long. Another cashier asked me what my order was and she started to help me. When she checked the cash register they had enough change for me. So they insisted to continue with my order since it was already ready. I decided to get my food and this is what they gave me (refer to the photo on this post). Okay, what have we learned here? We've learned that we can discount any "review" of a place called Fatburger that states "I'm not a burger person." We've learned that most people "reviewing" are kids or young adults. We've learned that this year the place seems to be under new management, so that all the older reviews about poor service and rude management are now rendered meaningless. So, let me begin by saying that the service is fine - very nice folks behind the counter and very helpful in answering questions. So, that's not a worry anymore. There was also no wait, plenty of seating. So, what are we left with? The food, the Fatburger food. I have eaten at Fatburger in two other locations and each time I've thought to myself, "Myself, this food is a first-class bore." I always think it's the location, but it's not. It's the food, the Fatburger "thing." It's not a patch on the butt cheeks of either I 'n' Out or Astro Burger. I can longer stomach McDonald's or any of those kinds of burgers (save for maybe Wendy's, which I've always enjoyed the handful of times I've eaten at one). But there's nothing that's special about Fatburger and the whole affair simply doesn't have much taste. I had the Island version - with not so hot 1000-Island dressing, simply because mayo in these types of places scares the pants off me, and believe me, you don't want to see THAT. In short, I guess if you're in a hurry or Nate 'n' Al's is too crowded (which was the case in my case), it's okay, it'll get you through.
