Father's Office has one of my favorite burgers around, easily. The burger is rich, juicy, and packed with flavor. They tend to cook it a little more on the rare/medium-rare side, which honestly works really well for this style of burger and keeps it super juicy. If you're okay with that style of cook, it's absolutely worth it. The atmosphere is cool, especially if you want to grab a drink late at night and just enjoy a solid burger. They also have a great draft beer selection and a good overall vibe. The only downside is that the service can sometimes feel a little quirky or inconsistent, which is probably where some of the mixed reviews come from. The hostess told me that's fine they won't make the order but they will need an Uber Eats team member to reach out to confirm. I joined a birthday celebration here last night. The best part of this choice is that u have to order at the bar so there was no complicated bill to decipher at the end of the night. We could just leave when we wanted to. The other good thing is the office burger. It is as good as the rumors say. Definitely too expensive to not come with fries. I abhor the trend of expensive burgers that do not come with sides. The other thing that I abhor is expensive cocktails that do not have alcohol in them. Took my 16-year-old to Father's Office for a Thursday lunch and immediately got hit with the "everyone must be 21+" rule... which I definitely knew... and definitely forgot. Not only can kids not go inside, they can't even sit on the patio. Lesson learned. Silver lining: I ordered takeout, and there are picnic tables right across the street. I have always been obsessed with Father's Office, especially with their NO SUBSTITUTION policy. There is nothing more that annoys me than someone ordering a burger and modifying everything on it. Of course, I happen to love everything on the Office Burger-Dry Aged Beef, Caramelized Onion, Bacon, Gruyere and Maytag Blue Cheese and Arugula. The quality of the beef on this burger is outstanding. Upon viewing Fathers Office you'll notice it has a open air design with a huge patio and a bunch of bench seating. During the summer there's nothing nicer than sitting outside drinking a beer and chatting with friends. Fathers Office is known for their burger! We ordered The Office Burger and Mushroom and Grits to share. I'm not a fan of blue cheese so when ordering, I asked if it could be placed on the side, but unfortunately, they do not do any substitutions or modifications. The staff member I ordered with did explain that he's also not a fan of blue cheese and he didn't mind it on the burger since it's not too strong, so we went with it. When we got it, the first things we noticed were that the burger was very bread-y and very greasy (our hands were dripping with grease after taking the first bite). Flavor was good. Lots of arugula and cheese, but there was more gruyere than blue cheese. The Mushroom and Grits dish was solid. Not sure what we were expecting, but it was essentially a few different types of mushrooms on top of a crispy grit cake. Flavor was good on this one as well, but we felt the portion was a bit small. Overall, giving Father's Office a 4/5. For hearing so much about the burgers, we were surprised that there was only one on the menu. Flavor of the food was good. I really loved the Bartender being so knowledgeable to talk about the beers. Although it's got a huge selection of drinks as I personally feel like it's more of a bar, they also have a good selection of food for a good dinner! So many people told me to try this place. I was shopping nextdoor with a friend and he asked the staff. 'where was a good place for lunch?' They recommended the hamburger. I wanted to leave but my friend came out with a table flag and receipt. There were a lot of dog parents and the pets were calm and enjoying themselves. My friend upon seeing the condition of the tables and chairs went back to ask if we could sit at the tables on the porch or inside. She reluctantly agreed but even the concrete picnic tables were uncomfortable. He put the dog in the car and left it running g with AC on and we awaited this much anticipated food. The deviled eggs arrived first. He ate one and then asked me to try before making a comment. I nearly spit it out. So much pickle juice and a caper on top. I will never eat a deviled egg again. We pushed those to the side just as the buyers came. If you've not had a burger here, it is a surprise to get an oval bun with what appears to be Salisbury steak smothered in BBQ sauce and arugula. We each forced ourselves to eat half of our respective sandwiches. Neither of us like them. The flavors were all over the place and not harmonized at all. Lots of vinegar in the BBQ sauce echoed the deviled eggs we just passed on eating. This was not going well. Then the fries he surprised me with arrived. This spot is in a nice, but busy area. The outdoor seating was great. As this was my first time here, it was a little unclear where to order food at first, but you go up to the bar for food and drink. I got the Chorizo Fritters, which were delicious, but a smaller portion than expected. My friend got the chicken sandwich (their go-to order, so it must be good) and it was quite large. There are no photos of the food, so you don't know exactly what you're getting. The menu is very unique for a gastropub, but a few additional options would be nice, especially since no substitutions or removals allowed. It's very rare that I eat a burger without ketchup, but I don't mean adventuring out and trying to new things. The FO Burger was excellent! The freshly baked roll was soft yet had a nice chew to it. The burger was cooked to perfection at medium rare. The combination of caramelized onions and bacon was very tasty. Although, the greens were in abundance. It was quite a treat to finally have the opportunity to eat this burger. I would happily come back and eat this burger at full price as it was that good. I think it's about time I finally review one of my favorite gastropubs in LA. In the past 4 years I've been coming here, I never had a mediocre meal/experience. I live nearby, always go to Pasta Sisters, and had heard the burgers here were amazing -- so I finally gave this place a try! Burger (4/5) -- Definitely an acquired taste. I don't think this burger is for everyone. They're heavy on the arugula (which I personally love), so that worked for me.
