This was my first time and this spot was POPPIN', New York style from the Yankees T Shirt to the family photos on the wall and a hell of a long wait. If you're a northerner you know what to do, pizza by the slice and dine in or order online. Saw a lot of sour people about having to wait; have we lost sight of the fact that a long wait means a thriving small business and that GOOD FOOD IS WORTH WAITING FOR. Pepperoni slices slapped and I loved the hustle of the ambiance inside. No notes.

    Sicilian pizza...so good!

Horrible! I ordered a Sicilian pizza with pepperoni and double sausage. There was hardly any sauce on the pizza. I was charged $44 dollars for a 3 topping pizza that is listed on their menu as $22 .Quality of food has gone way down in last 15 months. Toppings used to be cut nice and excellent, now it was more like a crumble. I had the best pizza ever in that place a year ago and wrote a review expressing the excellence, now its just trash pizza backed up by marginally friendly, incompetent staff.I asked for an itemized receipt and the girl couldn't/wouldn't give me on, she gave me one that listed just the pizza as $44. I picked it up from the restaurant and was told there was a service fee, but she couldnt tell me what for. I was there around 6:30 on 1/13/26. You can see the difference of quality in pics. Keep putting out garbage like this and you are sure to close in future.

    Carry Out Favillas

Hmmm. I'm usually Favillas biggest fan. We have been going 20 mins out of our way to get carry out pizzas from them since 2022. Today, 3/5/2025... we believe their recipe has changed. Or they now do their "by the slice" pizza differently than the carryout orders which use to be like their by the slice pizza. Their by the slice pizza is truly NY style, it's still on their counter and their new carry out - not so much. Smaller and thicker crust. Will try one more time and see. If it's the case we will have to find somewhere else. Maybe it was the pizza maker today.... Who knows. Decent but not worth $20 bucks or 25 min drive.

Always so good here... Great people... Great scene... And check out this amazing tricolor pie!

The restaurants to go counter, I want one of everything Please!

Pizza is awesome, garlic knots are tasty and I asked Anthony about the Eggplant stuffed pizza, so I could order it for next time and he was nice enough to let me try a piece of it! Thanks Anthony- Welcome to Asheville. I hope you enjoy what our town has to offer. I have been going to Favillas for almost 20 years and me and my family love it! I do miss the sit down restaurant but the food is still amazing

Can you see the bottom this is my last time coming here

I don't know how this place got such a high rating it just blows my mind but then again nobody remembers the previous owner there's a God believing giving you your money's worth I came here almost 4 days a week ordering I haven't been here in 3 months because it was horrible then it was horrible the time before that and right after the hurricane he sold it that's when it went downhill cheaper feta cheaper everything if you're looking for your bottom dollar Food consumption and high rates this is the place for you on the other hand their pizzas are not bad except when you're looking through the window how long have they been sitting there long enough I'm sure and in the picture that was $10 you can see the freaking bottom

Meat lover's slice and a water. Six bucks & change. Best deal I've got in a long time.

1 of 3 decent pizza spots around here. I just wish they had more big slices available. I just wanted a slice of pepperoni. But this was a nice substitute.

Disappointed, although the toppings were fresh the crust was soggy. Seemed like it was a rush job, not allowing the crust to fully bake.

I was satisfied with the pizza but it wasn't anything to really rave over. The salad was big - mostly chopped lettuce (love that it was chopped already) topped with some cheese, olives, green peppers and tomato slices. I don't eat my salads soaked in dressing so there was enough dressing for me but it felt like the dressing cup wasn't very full if you do like a wet salad. Breadsticks were good and airy. Lots of cheese on top. I preferred the pizza over the breadsticks over the 2 visits I had 3 types of slices. For speciality slices they top a slice of cheese with the toppings then bake it so the toppings aren't baked down into the cheese. Still good. When I lived here years ago, we used this spot as a quick bite when we were out brewery hopping or pre gaming for a show. Huge inside with plenty of seating and some games. Staff is friendly and service is quick!

Service, i waited at the counter for about 5 minutes before someone was off the phone and took my order. Food came pretty quickly, the guy behind the counter one of the guys was wearing a tank top, honestly that should not be allowed for health reasons. Maybe after a few beers things would taste different but like i said before each their own.

The Roman squares are made of a thick dough that looks like focaccia but is both lighter and crispier. They come in single 5" by 7" rectangles (spuntino, $8-$10), 5" by 13" pies (mezzo, $15-$19), or 9" x 13" party size portions (tutto, $30-$38). While you can build your own custom pizza, the default options include a Calabrian with pepper jam, a funghi & charred tomato, a sfincione with breadcrumb topping, a patate with potato cream, and a rotating special. A few dips, an arugula salad, cauliflower cacio pepe, and meatballs are also available. Wanting a few slices to commemorate Pi Day, my wife and I shared a Calabrian, a funghi & charred tomato, and a daily special. Ordering was easy, and Terra Nova's "green industrial" vibe (check out that moss wall) made for interesting ambiance. Our pizza was not cheap, but it was very satisfying, and Mission uses high-quality ingredients. The Calabrian offered a good combination of sweet and spicy while the funghi & charred tomato delivered creamy (ricotta) and smoky. The crust was done perfectly: crisp without being overly charred. There are many places in Asheville where you can grab a pizza and a beer, but none can offer you the same experience that Mission does. Unless you're a New York-style pizza purist, you owe it to yourself to give Mission a try.

I like the style of pizza and they have some interesting specialty pizzas. I just didn't love how the pizza we had only had a very small amount of cheese. It was also super messy, the pizza had breadcrumbs on top, which were good, but they went everywhere all over the table. We also tried the meatballs, which were good but nothing special. I am all about being eco friendly but the taste of the wooden fork ruined the taste of the meatball (not a fan of the popsicle stick type flavor when eating).

Almost every beer on the menu is a split batch fermented with two different yeast strains to showcase the resulting differences. It's a great concept, even if you're not into brewing. In terms of the food, it seems like the really leaned into providing something good, well-balanced, and sometimes takes advantage of the yeast and beer being cultivated on site. I had a house salad and some dilly beans for lunch. The house salad was fresh and extremely well balanced. I'm glad they had something vegetable centric available. The dilly beans were good, but quite a bit for a single human. They're probably the type of thing you would want to split among friends. I actually showed up for an event in the evening where they served pizza using dough fermented with one of their yeast strains. That was truly excellent. Nicely balanced, not over the top, with a deeply flavorful crust. If you're in Asheville, I would consider this a must visit destination.
