This pizza restaurant serves huge slices of New York style pizza. The pizza itself was delicious, and the portion size was definitely impressive. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the food. The cashier wasn't very friendly, which was disappointing, especially as a first time customer. I had heard many good reviews about this place, but the overall vibe during my visit just wasn't what I expected.

Great atmosphere and super friendly staff!!! Location is a bit odd and as a result parking became a bit of a challenge but the building itself is well maintained and aesthetically pleasing for all your photo needs! The pizza was amazing! Definitely try the zip sauce with the Garden slice it was so good! We also got the Not Your Mom's pizza slice it was very good!

Pizza really big!!!!!!!!! Like bigger than me!!!!! Yum!!!! Go here and get pizza - fr

This is an interesting pizza spot. Music is bumping. It's open late. Staff are nice. Parking is in the street as limited. Pizza is a bit salty and if you don't eat pork skip it as they might have cross contamination. Slices are big fit on two plates. One slice will fill you up. Hope you enjoy!

Got ahead of myself and ate the entire pepperoni slice before taking a picture. That and the sausage were both great, fairly basic slices, but that's how I like it.

Huge delicious slices of pizza! We heard great things about PIE.ZAA & decided to try for ourselves. Thankfully we were NOT disappointed. Thorough, informative & polite service! The dining area was clean with a variety of seating. I devoured a slice of Zippy-ki-yay which has THE BEST base sauce! I wish y'all bottled the zip sauce because I want it on everything! The balsamic drizzle on top of the steak peppers & onions was tantalizing! Jonathan enjoyed the variety of vegetables on his Garden slice. Wish we could take PIE.ZAA back to Florida with us. We definitely recommend!

I've eaten a lot of pizza in my life and this is quite possibly the best tasting pizza I've ever had. I wanted to eat more than one slice because of how good it was but the slices are so large I couldn't physically eat more than one. The zip sauce and the ranch dip we're both delicious, especially the zip sauce! The service was great and it was within walking distance to a lot of other great businesses/breweries and such in the downtown area. We watched a guy buy an entire pie and he had to put it in the trunk of his car. I'm sure wherever he showed up with that thing he was received with a round of applause and followed by a trail of drool.

I could eat the Miss peaches slice over and over, with a dash of pepper flakes. These pizza slices are huge and come out fast. I was so glad they stayed open until midnight. The stay was welcoming, parking was easy enough and we took our pizza to go. Inside isn't that big and I had a movie to watch in my hotel room. I would definitely come back to try new slice toppings. I also tried one of their cookies. Although the cookie in the photo looked different from what I received it was delish.

Delicious huge pizza! Just be aware it might not fit through your car door. We had to put it in our trunk.

Amazing pizza. The Roni was perfect for a hangover. The Garden was very flavorful. The crust ends don't need dipping sauce, even though sauces were offered.

Slice of Roni and a slice of cheese.

This is now our pizza place in Asheville! The pizza is solid and the service is super fast and solid. These are huge slices and done up right.

Such a great vibe in this place. The people that work here seem to be having so much fun, music playing, laughing and joking. Such positive energy. They have an excellent craft beer fridge with different choices and the pizza was fantastic. One slice is the size of my face. I had the sausage pizza which was delicious and one slice filled me up. Definitely recommend.

Chris S.

Tried for the first time on recent visit to Asheville. Gargantuan slices. Solid pies.

Near the host stand there's a shelf of swag that they offer, like stickers, hats, sweaters and t shirts which was pretty cool. Loved the vibe and set up as you walk in. There's high tops, bar seating, big old school leather booth and big doors that open to offer outdoor patio seating. There was a beautiful sunset that night as well. We didn't get seated right away and found out they were having issues with their ovens prior which affected timing and caused delays to service. Luckily but the time we got sat our server told us that everything was up and running! We started with a couple glasses of wine and got some nice sunset pictures and then made our way to our table. Ella was very nice and guided us through some of her favorite options and we rolled with a few of them. We tried the honey pot cocktail which was so cute and unique. Had a small dollop of a meringue on top that gave it some texture. Our starter was the house made Foccacia and whipped ricotta spread. This was delicious! I found that 2 pieces of bread was not enough to devour all of that creamy and decadent ricotta so we asked for more and she gave us a couple more pieces which was nice. After that was the oven roasted chicken wings with garlic and grilled lemon. I absolutely LOVED these! They were tender, flavorful and that grilled lemon was what sealed all the flavors together. We moved along to the pizzas and decided to try two different kinds. The Asheville and Fig & Prosciutto. Both had their own unique thing that made them tasty. I love a hot honey on a pizza and the combo of sweet and savory so these were great. My only feedback is that the crust was a bit too doughy and not as crispy as I'd hope but that could've just been because they were just getting their ovens up and running right before. However they tasted good and we still enjoyed them. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed the food and service from Ella. Looking to sit outside next time!

The salad was big - mostly chopped lettuce (love that it was chopped already) topped with some cheese, olives, green peppers and tomato slices. I don't eat my salads soaked in dressing so there was enough dressing for me but it felt like the dressing cup wasn't very full if you do like a wet salad. Breadsticks were good and airy. Lots of cheese on top. I preferred the pizza over the breadsticks over the 2 visits I had 3 types of slices. For speciality slices they top a slice of cheese with the toppings then bake it so the toppings aren't baked down into the cheese. Still good. When I lived here years ago, we used this spot as a quick bite when we were out brewery hopping or pre gaming for a show. Huge inside with plenty of seating and some games. Service, i waited at the counter for about 5 minutes before someone was off the phone and took my order. The sister restaurant to Winston-Salem's acclaimed Mission Pizza Napoletana, Mission Pizza…read moreAsheville (aka Mission Pizza Romana) is decidedly not your typical neighborhood slice shop. The Roman squares are made of a thick dough that looks like focaccia but is both lighter and crispier. They come in single 5" by 7" rectangles (spuntino, $8-$10), 5" by 13" pies (mezzo, $15-$19), or 9" x 13" party size portions (tutto, $30-$38). While you can build your own custom pizza, the default options include a Calabrian with pepper jam, a funghi & charred tomato, a sfincione with breadcrumb topping, a patate with potato cream, and a rotating special. A few dips, an arugula salad, cauliflower cacio pepe, and meatballs are also available. Wanting a few slices to commemorate Pi Day, my wife and I shared a Calabrian, a funghi & charred tomato, and a daily special. Ordering was easy, and Terra Nova's "green industrial" vibe (check out that moss wall) made for interesting ambiance. Our pizza was not cheap, but it was very satisfying, and Mission uses high-quality ingredients. The Calabrian offered a good combination of sweet and spicy while the funghi & charred tomato delivered creamy (ricotta) and smoky. The crust was done perfectly: crisp without being overly charred. There are many places in Asheville where you can grab a pizza and a beer, but none can offer you the same experience that Mission does. Unless you're a New York-style pizza purist, you owe it to yourself to give Mission a try.

I like the style of pizza and they have some interesting specialty pizzas. I just didn't love how the pizza we had only had a very small amount of cheese. It was also super messy, the pizza had breadcrumbs on top, which were good, but they went everywhere all over the table. We also tried the meatballs, which were good but nothing special. I am all about being eco friendly but the taste of the wooden fork ruined the taste of the meatball (not a fan of the popsicle stick type flavor when eating).

They sell them as "a pound" which was good because these were very small wings. Small, but tasty in a sweet/spicy sauce and I ate nearly all of them while slowly sipping that very crushable beer.
