    14" Gluten Free Supreme Pie
    Luca D.

Despite the place being kind of empty, service and ambiance was appreciated. I got a GF supreme without meatballs and with feta instead of regular cheese. I'm pretty glad I showed up with a seriously empty stomach because GF pizzas are 14", so this was seriously filling. The crust was thin enough to have a slight crunch to it, and all the other flavors worked nicely together.

We flew in from Baltimore and had a long walk to rental car area due to airport construction. Then to discover our booking agent booked rental car downtown, not at the airport. So had to shuttle to parking area then a 45 min wait in the hot sun for an Uber or a Lyft, finally a cab came by and we grabbed it. Of course now in the middle of rush hour traffic. So we got checked into hotel and were just too tired to go back out. So we checked out pizza delivery and Standard Pizza was close. So I ordered a pizza and a salad for my wife and I to share. I included special instructions to include utensils, both for salad and pizza, also salt and pepper. 30-45 minute wait, not bad. I enabled push notifications so we would know when it arrived. We waited. Every 10 minutes or so I checked for updates but nothing. I expected a little driver rolling along the map they provided. Finally after around 30 minutes I checked status at 8:30. The update stated "Delivered 8:20 PM." I opened the door and our salad and pizza were setting outside room door, cold now. There were NO utensils, NO napkins, NO salt and pepper. Apparently they do not read instructions. Pizza was cold, crust tough & chewy. The "Greek" salad was only spinach, olives, feta and artichoke(?) not like any Greek salad I've had - no tomatoes or cucumbers, no lettuce?? I went to lobby to see if I could grab a couple forks from breakfast buffet area, but the area was locked up. We tried eating salad with our fingers but just too messy, so tossed it. There is no way I can recommend this place. Just too many issues plus about $11 in delivery charge, imposed 15% tip and $4.15 service charge! Now this is not the worst pizza I've ever had, but definitely the worst pizza experience.

When we saw Cuban Pizza we knew we had to visit Standard Pizza. It was just a short walk from the Marriott Courtyard where we were staying. The interior of the restaurant is quite large and while we were there there were only a few parties dining in but it appeared they do a lot of take-out orders. There is also an outside seating area. The biggest plus at Standard Pizza is that you can get any variety of pizza as a slice. We had a slice of the white , Cuban and Margherita pizzas. The most unique was the Cuban with bananas, which added a bit of sweetness along with saltiness of the ham. Prices are reasonable, 3 slices, tax & tip came to $17. Staff was friendly and efficient. They also cut our slices in half as we were sharing. I recommend a visit to Standard Pizza if you are in the area.

Standard Pizza has both indoor and outdoor seating. Masks are currently required inside while not eating or drinking. This wasn't enforced though so not sure why the policy. Ordering is done at the counter and your order is brought to your table. I ordered a garden salad; bread sticks and a white pizza. Next time, I'd just go with the pizza. The white pizza was delicious. Next time, I am going to try the cheesy breadsticks. I liked that there were games inside for the children to play with.

Standardly delicious. Solid choice for a slice. Love the simplicity and staff. Went here for take away last night post event at HiWire. They are walking distance which is great. Had never been to this location before and it's delightful. Spacious and clean. The staff were super kind and attentive. The slice prices were super fair- starting at $2.75. I got a white slice at $3.75 ($5 with tip). They have a lot of veggie options as well as some meat ones. Would be interested in trying a salad too. As I was waiting, saw some calzones and cheese bread go by and was jealous. Looked spectacular. The slice took a long time. To be fair we were asked names and given updates. The slice had a lot of good flavor and cheese but seemed a little too thin and crunchy. Still a solid late night snack but maybe would try something different next time.

Service, always 100. Perfect lunch slices. Usually pretty chill atmosphere during the day, which is appreciated. I go back for the Cuban slice. Pineapple on pizza? Nah bruh- BANANAS ON PIZZA. Don't knock it til ya try it- perfect balance to the jalapeño.

Randomly stopped here, looking for some good pizza. I have to say that I agree with prior yelp reviews of the cheesy bread sticks - they are to die for, excellent buttery and just crispy enough with a soft inside. Yum! Also ordered a pep slice and a supreme slice, NY style - decent pizza. I ordered the cheese calzone, which came about 15 minutes after the above (I was told it takes that)..... It was a decent calzone, I was actually to full to eat it and saved half for a midnight snack. My only complaint was that the Jalapenos were not fresh imho, seemed to be from a jar..... The young tall man that served us was a good dude and made sure we were taken care of. I would go back again in a heartbeat for the cheese bread!!!!!

Stopped here late night after hiking on my way back to Charlotte and it definitely hit the spot. The staff was friendly and they had everything safely spaced out for the pandemic. Both slices were great - warm, with a crunchy crust.

The Roman squares are made of a thick dough that looks like focaccia but is both lighter and crispier. They come in single 5" by 7" rectangles (spuntino, $8-$10), 5" by 13" pies (mezzo, $15-$19), or 9" x 13" party size portions (tutto, $30-$38). While you can build your own custom pizza, the default options include a Calabrian with pepper jam, a funghi & charred tomato, a sfincione with breadcrumb topping, a patate with potato cream, and a rotating special. A few dips, an arugula salad, cauliflower cacio pepe, and meatballs are also available. Wanting a few slices to commemorate Pi Day, my wife and I shared a Calabrian, a funghi & charred tomato, and a daily special. Ordering was easy, and Terra Nova's "green industrial" vibe (check out that moss wall) made for interesting ambiance. Our pizza was not cheap, but it was very satisfying, and Mission uses high-quality ingredients. The Calabrian offered a good combination of sweet and spicy while the funghi & charred tomato delivered creamy (ricotta) and smoky. The crust was done perfectly: crisp without being overly charred. There are many places in Asheville where you can grab a pizza and a beer, but none can offer you the same experience that Mission does. Unless you're a New York-style pizza purist, you owe it to yourself to give Mission a try.

I like the style of pizza and they have some interesting specialty pizzas. I just didn't love how the pizza we had only had a very small amount of cheese. It was also super messy, the pizza had breadcrumbs on top, which were good, but they went everywhere all over the table. We also tried the meatballs, which were good but nothing special. I am all about being eco friendly but the taste of the wooden fork ruined the taste of the meatball (not a fan of the popsicle stick type flavor when eating).

Almost every beer on the menu is a split batch fermented with two different yeast strains to showcase the resulting differences. It's a great concept, even if you're not into brewing. In terms of the food, it seems like the really leaned into providing something good, well-balanced, and sometimes takes advantage of the yeast and beer being cultivated on site. I had a house salad and some dilly beans for lunch. The house salad was fresh and extremely well balanced. I'm glad they had something vegetable centric available. The dilly beans were good, but quite a bit for a single human. They're probably the type of thing you would want to split among friends. I actually showed up for an event in the evening where they served pizza using dough fermented with one of their yeast strains. That was truly excellent. Nicely balanced, not over the top, with a deeply flavorful crust. If you're in Asheville, I would consider this a must visit destination.

Mrs. K. and I took the two seats at the end and I walked up to the bar to order drinks and dinner. A pint of the "American Style Lager" for me and their "Spicy!" ginger beer that Mrs. K. said was good but not all that spicy. Less than ten minutes later, my chicken wings arrived. They sell them as "a pound" which was good because these were very small wings. Small, but tasty in a sweet/spicy sauce and I ate nearly all of them while slowly sipping that very crushable beer. So we walked into Luminosa underdressed, absolutely soaking wet, and looking like we had just been rescued from a shipwreck. This is a really nice restaurant, so at this point I was pretty convinced either we weren't getting seated or my friends were going to spend the rest of their marriage talking about the dinner I ruined. I explained the situation to the staff and they could not have handled it better. No judgment, no making us feel out of place, nothing but an insane level of hospitality from the second we walked in. They even sent out a few dishes on the house. Our server Riley was phenomenal. Riley knew the menu inside and out, gave us all the information we needed without overexplaining everything, and never steered us wrong once. We basically put our dinner in Riley's hands, and that was probably the biggest reason the meal turned out as well as it did. And the food was fucking incredible. Not "we're drunk on a wedding weekend and everything tastes good" incredible. Every single one of us said it was one of the best meals we've ever had. And I don't say that because my culinary experience is limited to Applebee's and the Cheesecake Factory. I went to probably half the restaurants on the Michelin Guide while I was in Asheville, live in Atlanta where I've eaten at plenty of Michelin-recognized restaurants, and have been fortunate enough to eat at Michelin restaurants outside the US. Luminosa was still one of the best meals I've had anywhere. I walked in thinking I had completely screwed up dinner and walked out looking like a genius for picking the restaurant. I will be taking full credit for that and giving none to the tornado or Riley.

I still dream of this dish - I can't believe how delicious it was! For dessert we had the panna cotta and pistachio gelato. The panna cotta was FANTASTIC, I could eat 2 by myself. The pistachio gelato was interesting... the texture was great but it was incredibly savory which I wasn't expecting. The service was phenomenal. I do think that instead of bringing everything out at once, the dishes should come out when they're done so that the temperature doesn't change as it's waiting for other dishes. Would come back!
