This is my absolute favorite pizza ever!! It's SO delicious and the staff has always been very friendly! The sauce is so unique and the pizza always makes me want to come back. My favorite has been the pepperoni and sausage pizza, although I'm sure anything you order would be delicious! The garlic knots are also absolutely amazing! I would definitely recommend this place and can't wait go back.

I was staying at a nearby hotel and decided to grab a pizza for dinner as not much else was around. This is a small Italian place located in a small strip mall just off the Interstate. There are a few seats inside but I brought mine back to the room. I started with the egg plant appetizer. It's a lightly breaded egg plant baked in sauce and cheese on top. It was surprisingly very good. Tastier than I expected. As a single person I also found it kind of filling. But, of course, there was also the pizza. I got the small deluxe. The small seemed more like a medium. The crust was a little thicker than I expected which, again, made it more filling. But the toppings were plentiful. In short this was a very positive experience. The food was more than enough and probably was enough for two. For an area with few options this was definitely a winner.

This small pizzeria is awesome. Clean dining area, friendly staff and delicious and good value food! Today I had a slice of the meat lovers pizza, cooked fresh a slice at a time. Topped with generous portions of pepperoni, sausage, beef, and Canadian bacon the pizza was served straight from the oven. The sauce is tasty and they do not overdo it on the pizza. This was my third time here and I have tried something different each time- all have been delicious!

Unfortunately the pizza was average at best and pretty certain the sauce was from a jar. The service was quick but it doesn't make up for the lackluster flavor of the meal.

We asked if the jalapeño poppers were made in house, but they told us they were frozen jalapeño poppers. They were decent, crispy and cream cheese filled. Ordered the calamari and they were really disappointing, dry and over fried. Only one crust option available "NY style" made me suspicious, thinking it was pre-made but when I picked it up they were working it by hand.

Margaritta pizza and apple salad. Looked and smelled great, taste....ehhhh

Food.... pizza was OK. Nothing spectacular. I had the Margaritta pizza and the apple salad. Salad was really good. Pizza was mediocre at best. Had high hopes on this one but fell flat. I walked in, greated by a nice young man. Grabbed a couple cokes for my husband and was told by the grumpy older man at the counter that I couldn't add them to my online order. I asked if I can just pay for them. He said yes in a rude way, and I paid $3 for a 16 oz. Coke. 2 pizzas, salad and a coke ... over $50. Not that unexpected for the area but husband only ate 2 slices and pitched the remainder. Quite the bummer.

Taste Reminded me of Little Caesars. With better ingredients. 4 stars because quick and well made. Sauce Just not my taste at all.

Pizzas are so so, probably around 3/5 star. Calamari was bad, smells strange, does not look like they're fresh. Most likely won't go back.

Culamar is drenched in natural light and decorated simply - nothing too loud or busy about the place, thus perfect for a working lunch. The menu was odd and we all struggled to understand the categories it was broken up into. Each item read as a series of arbitrarily listed ingredients. Our (half asleep, disinterested) waitress informed us the dishes were, in majority, "tapas style", a term I find exhaustingly passé. I began to dream of restaurants down the road we could have selected, but we were here and we must stay the course! I had to keep it together for Dennis. We ordered 6 dishes for the three of us to share, and you know what? They were all excellent. Really such outstanding bites. I was stunned by how much I enjoyed the beef carpaccio, the calamari was the best I've ever had (amazing tempura fry!), the Gnuddi (basically a massive gnocchi) in browned butter and crisp sage was a pillowy delight. In spite of my initial concerns -- the hiccups of a confusing menu and our less-than-energetic waitress -- we all left with pleased palates.

The food itself was absolutely delicious. The bread was AMAZING and honestly one of the highlights. We also ordered the oysters, beef carpaccio, and duck, and everything tasted incredible. My biggest complaint is the price for the portion sizes. I really don't mind spending money on a nice dinner, but every dish we ordered was gone in what felt like less than a minute. Everything tasted amazing, but for the amount of food you actually get, I just couldn't justify the prices. We actually left and ended up going to another restaurant afterward because we were still hungry, which was pretty disappointing considering how much we had just spent. Overall, the food was delicious, but between the extremely small portions, high prices, tight space, and slower service, it just wasn't worth it for us. I'm glad we tried it, but I wouldn't go back.

When we agreed upon this place, we looked online to see that they opened at 4:30. We drove straight there and arrived at 4:45. There was free street parking available nearby. When looking online, we noticed they accepted reservations, but we thought since we were eating early that we would be fine-- we were mistaken. The exterior is bold and cutely decorated with some painted art, bright red bricks, and festoon lighting under the awning. Upon entry, the hostess stared our party of two down and did not say a word. Excited to try a new place, I happily greeted her "Hello! Just a table for two, please." She paused, looked me up and down, and replied "no reservation?" with a smug attitude. I shyly replied with "No." My friend added that we didn't know we needed one but came here just thinking we'd be okay since we were before the dinner rush and they just opened. She stared at us blankly and replied "Well, I am pretty booked tonight. We don't have extra tables." At first I thought she was maybe joking. When we looked around there were people sat at two tables, a musician was sitting in the corner on his phone, and the servers were up near the kitchen-- all while the rest of the dining room was dead empty. I understand having tables already booked, but the interaction just seemed odd. After thumping around on her tablet, "I guess I can seat you at my 6:00 table", she mumbled to herself. We were very friendly; however, it just felt the attitude was unnecessary when that would still give us an hour and fifteen minutes to order, eat, and our table to be flipped. Once we were seated, we were greeted friendly by our waiter who gave us waters and menus right off the bat. The atmosphere was nothing special and maybe a little dated, but it was clean and quaint. It reminded me of another local Italian restaurant that was as near my childhood home that we used to eat at a lot. We ordered a cheese bread and marinara sauce for the table and then were ready to place entrees. The cheese bread was very warm, melty, and delicious. The marinara had a great flavor and the size was nice for our party of two. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo and was SHOCKED by how large the portions were as soon as I saw the dish. The noodles were cooked al dente with a nice cheese sauce and large breaded chicken breast. The food all had a good flavor and nice portions. Service and the food were also very quick. We were in and out in 35 minutes, perfect for our evening full of plans. Our entire experience was good with delicious dinner, large portions, and a friendly server. However, the atmosphere was nothing special and the front hostess left an odd impression. I would recommend this place if you're wanting some good Italian food in Franklin-- Just make sure you have a reservation prior.
