Went with a friend recently and had a good time. There wasn't a line but parking was kind of annoying (a pay to park situation with validation). There was a lot of nice seating inside (good mix of booths and tables) plus lots of patio seating. The pizza was really good!! Came out quickly and at just the right warm temperature. So much buzz surrounded this opening and I admit I was suspicious, but I finally made the stop and I was quite pleasantly surprised! Located in half of the building, there is parking out front (not much) and out back. You need to scan and get the parking validated inside. Easy process, 90 minutes parking provided. Order at the counter. After you order they give you a number and bring your order to the table. In a display case, they show what pizza's are on for that day "by the slice". Counter staff gave some good info on the pizza varieties. I went with the Rosa / Detroit crust. For a place in Franklin, I thought it was very reasonably priced! And my pizza was good, Nice crispy crust, plenty of toppings and the slice size was large enough to make a great lunch serving. For a few different ones so we could try and we had to get the $2 bottle of spicy oil! WORTH IT. Total was over $32 with tip for 4 slices, the oil, and a couple fountain waters. My favorite is the Law Dog which features a delicious Jack Daniel's maple syrup. I get it every single time. I've also tried their cannolis, and they are the perfect sweet treat. I think early reviews must have hurt the overall rating, but don't let that stop you from giving it a shot! I'm a big pizza guy- love a good NY or New Haven-style pizza. This is the best pizza I've had in downtown and probably Franklin, and now that I think of it, I can't think of anything that's better between here and East Nashville (because it's East and that's where all the best foodie places are). Perhaps a little pricey, but this ain't Dominos. Wise Guy is a great slice, and I think unless you're starving, 1 slice will do the trick- it's darn near a quarter of a pizza. Maybe higher traffic times affect the service/quality, but like I said, I've only ever had really positive experiences. The parking out back is a little crowded and DEFINITELY read the signs and get validation taken care of. Nothing will ruin a fun pizza night like a parking ticket. read more

Overall good and I love that they do slices. We got the motor head, the tomato pie, and the big papa. All were really flavorful! I wish they had some beers on tap - they have a bunch of options in a can. Imo the slices were a little on the expensive side BUT you can't get slices in a lot of places in TN. My husband says this is some of the better pizza in tennessee! I'm from NJ so I'm a little harder to please with pizza. My friend and I met here for our Christmas/End of Year Celebration and were eager to finally try it. The restaurant offers 90 mins free validated parking behind their spot, cozy booths, and nostalgic 90s country music; however, the pizza itself was a major letdown. The concept of offering multiple styles by the slice is appealing, but the slices we ordered tasted old and stale. Even reheated, one slice was barely warm and the other only marginally better. The Detroit-style Popeye and Grandma-style Sweet Gino both had potential, but lacked heat, flavor, and generous toppings, especially disappointing given the price point. Service was very hands-off: order at the counter, seat yourself, and no check-ins afterward. The highlight of the visit was the Noel Christmas Ale from Fat Bottom Brewery. Between the cost and the quality, it just didn't deliver. I might try a whole pizza fresh someday, but the slice experience missed the mark and doesn't entice me to return. Customer service is lacking here. We ordered a pizza to go and walked in but people were like just standing around and not like hi how are you warm like. We needed a new place to try for some descent pizza in Franklin and was told of this place by our neighbors. Here's what we found.... Ambiance was very Taco Shop-esq...not that that's bad just a counter service for pizza and then some inside and outside seating on the corner right before you get into downtown franklin. Service: Service was ok and I'm assuming will get better with time as they are still fairly new and lots of HS / college kids working. They took our order and gave us our number but failed to bring the beer I had ordered on tap. once we found a seat I waited about 15 min then had to go get it on my own and show my receipt. Food was good but honestly next time I'd order a whole pizza so it's fresh - when it's a slice that's being rewarmed it's a bit chewy and you can just tell the difference. Flavors were good but definitely needs to be fresh out the oven. Price - everything in Franklin now is pricey so expect a higher than normal bill for everything. Parking can get sketchy but they have an app off the QR code that allows for 90min free which is awesome and should be used by a lot of other Franklin businesses but I digress away from food. The pizza is just not good. And it's overpriced. Not sure why they're charging eight dollars for a slice of dry pizza that tastes like cardboard with hardly anything on it. They try though with unique combinations and I give them credit for that. The problem is there's not enough sauce or cheese and it's way overpriced. You can get the same thing at Sam's for two dollars. It's just a little fancier here. Also had the side salad, which was good, but the lettuce was bitter. My friend and i had such a great experience here and we will definitely be back! First of all, the people working there were so nice and accommodating. they were cleaning tables off like crazy to make sure everyone had a place to sit during the busy dinner rush. they were also super nice to a lady with gluten allergy asking questions. they were very knowledgeable and helped her out a lot! now for the food! we got four slices; a pepperoni, a cheese, a wise guy, and a law maker. all the slices were amazing except for the lawmaker slice. don't get me wrong the slice is super flavorful and tasty but there's no tomato sauce on it so the slice was a little dry and crispy. again, it was still tasty but just not out favorite. overall, this place is great and i would definitely check it out!! read more

Downtown Franklin was in desperate need of quality by-the-slice pie, and I'm ebullient to say that Slice House meets- nay, EXCEEDS- all my hopes for such an establishment. I first visited Slice House on a whim - It was a beautiful Spring Day and my dear friend and I were enjoying a lingering walk. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, the bunnies were hopping, and, as it turns out, the Slice House was soft opening. Drawn magnetically towards the happy hubbub, we joined the party and began deciding what slice to sample . I went simple with a NY Style cheese, while Tyler chose something funkier and more adventurous. Bite by bite, it began to resonate that Main Street is now home to not just decent pizza, but excellent pizza. And the cannolis, oh the cannolis (!) - I could write a whole essay about them. Suffice to say: Yum. I've been back twice since my initial visit (known henceforth as, "The Best Day Ever"), with each trip somehow managing to top the last. Bums me out to write this second review...... Unfortunately nothing served to us today was even remotely fresh/even close to the experience I had recently. How could this place have changed so drastically in less than two weeks. This time, I took my wife with me, because I was raving about it so much. Candidly, I'm a pretty fair person, and wanted to address it while I was there. Last week, a manager (and staff) was constantly walking around the restaurant, asking customers how everything was. Today, not a soul was to be found checking on customers. I would have walked up to counter, but I didn't feel like standing in a line of 10-12 people deep, so I just chalked it up as a huge loss. Last visit, I would have said 15 out of 5 stars. Definitely not today. Today, all pizza was completely dry/over cooked, yet neither my wife's nor mine, were actually hot. It's as if the pizza was reheated/baked several times/made a few days ago and reheated. Based on the expressions of others that were dining in, we weren't the only ones that were completely underwhelmed. Didn't get a receipt upon checking out, so I can't even share that. Either way, this was the quickest one and done experience I've ever had. Such a shame because the $45 for a few slices of pizza and a salad is a bit pricey yes, but I would have continued to pay that with no problem based on my prior experience.... There are definitely some issues that need to be sorted out, but they haven't been open very long, and when I had a problem they went way above and beyond to resolve the issue. More on that below. First off, the pizza is very good. My wife says the gluten-free crust is the best she's ever had, and she has sampled many gluten-free crusts over the years! The Hot Honey pizza was delicious. The regular New York-style crust was good, but it didn't stand out as being particularly great. But the toppings really made the pizza. They were crazy busy during the lunch rush, so we had to wait around 20 minutes for our pizzas. When our number was called, my pizza didn't look like what I ordered, so I asked. It was not what I ordered. The person behind the counter offered that they could make the correct pizza for me, but I told her it was OK because we didn't have time. While we were eating, another woman (the manager, I assume) came to our table, and said she understood that I had received the wrong pizza. I confirmed that I had ordered the Hot Honey but was given a plain pepperoni pizza. She said she could refund the cost of the pizza that was wrong. Then she offered that they could make the correct pizza while I was eating, so that I could take it home to enjoy. I told her that would be great. Shortly after that, she returned with some of the hot honey sauce so that the pepperoni pizza would be closer to what I ordered. That was a nice gesture. But it gets better! When the correct pizza arrived, it was enormous!!! There is a clear effort to provide excellent customer service here. It was pretty obvious that the cashier taking my order wasn't really comfortable using the tablet for entering the order, so I wasn't super surprised that the order was wrong. And initially the gluten-free pizza wasn't put in as such, so I had to correct her (thankfully your order appears on the screen in front of you). I'm confident that the challenges we faced will get addressed and improve over time. I very much appreciate that the staff made a serious effort to greatly exceed expectations when a mistake was made. We'll definitely be back! read more

A pepperoni slice (which is the spice I judge everyone on), the traditional and they gave me a free mystery slice which had cherry peppers, green onions, bacon and a ranch like sauce. All in all, it was decent. It's like a slightly upscale S'Barro. With everything cooked and reheated like slice places do, the crust was almost crunchy. I prefer a folding slice, but this was decent. They did have a very good pizza sauce with lots of flavor. Might order a fresh whole pie next time. Parking in the lot behind was free for 90 minutes if you scanned the QR code inside. read more

Very "I came in casual and left emotionally attached." This might actually be my new favorite pizza place off this slice alone. The regular slice was good in that low-drama, dependable way. The crust held up. The cheese knew its assignment. The sauce stayed in pocket and did not try to hijack the whole bite. Just balanced. Easy. The kind of slice that reminds you plain pizza only seems boring when it is done badly. This was not that. The pepperoni had flavor. Real flavor. Not just oil and nostalgia. It had a savory little kick and enough personality to make the slice feel extra locked in. Every bite tasted seasoned on purpose. Not random. Not sleepy. It gave the pizza some attitude. The staff was beyond helpful and genuinely friendly. That part stood out. Small details handled. Questions answered. Good energy. No weirdness. No making you feel like ordering food was somehow an inconvenience. It is always the little things, and they got those right. The bathroom was clean, which honestly tells me a lot. Quality Control Flawed and Ownership is Ambivalent. We've been loyal patrons of Slice House since it opened. The pizza remains five stars. Unfortunately, we recently discovered a fatal flaw in the quality control of their "More Than Pizza" menu items. Our order consisted of pizzas and salads. Even though we gave an hour's notice, pickup still ran 10 minutes late--an inconvenience, but nothing major. The real issue came with the salads. At the takeout station, salads are bagged in a stapled paper sack with the receipt attached, after being "checked" against the order by an employee. This process implies accuracy, but actually discourages customers from confirming what's inside without tearing open the bag. When we arrived at our destination, we discovered our salad was missing its dressing--a key part of the purchase. Frustrated, we drove all the way back to the store, found parking a second time and hoofed it over to the store. After explaining the situation to one of the owners, we were met with indifference. He simply called an employee to hand us the dressing and sent us on our way with barely an acknowledgment. His lack of empathy was disheartening. Beware: if you're handling your own pickup, tear open the sack and double-check your order--just as you would inspect a pizza box. Otherwise, you risk not only an incomplete meal but also the bad taste of dealing with ownership that shows little compassion for its customers. read more

I was very excited to try Slice House Pizza. We drove over to give it a go and we were met with some unexpected surprises. First, the parking lot is chaotic. It took twenty minutes to park because the lot is a pay to park situation, which wouldn't be so bad if not for the delivery trucks blocking all of the cars in. No one should have to pay to park in a lot where your departure is dependent on whether a large truck is blocking you in. We got our slices and made our way back to the car. As we approached we witnessed one of the employees smoking next to the lot. Nothing temps the tastebuds more than a glimpse of the person that made your pizza, spitting on the ground, wiping snot from his nose on his Slice House shirt, followed by flicking his cigarette onto the ground. Needless to say, we did not eat our pizza. It was cold and we were put off by the entire palaver. Don't waste your time or your money. read more

With normal pizza, I don't eat the crust. Slice House pizza is not normal pizza. Every bite is worth devouring, including the crust. Plus you can get pizzas here you can't get anywhere else. My favorite is the Wise Guy-- sausage, a bit of a kick, and gooey blobs of this amazing cheese. The service is really good, too-- friendly and quick. I've gotten to talk to the owners and managers several times, and I appreciate the care they put into their restaurant. For some reason the music that plays in the bathrooms is usually (but not always) in a foreign language. This isn't a bad thing, just kinda weird. Caesar Salad: 4/5 - it was missing cheese (we added it after ordering) but the dressing was the best part of the dinner Meatballs: 5/5 - the sauce!!!! So good! The Wiseman: 4/5 - they could decrease the amount of ricotta but otherwise sooo good! One complain: they had a little black girl working alone on the patio and so many employees inside doing little to nothing but most definitely not supporting. I'm going to preface this review that my family is gluten free and I grew up going to Tony's original Pyzano's location in Castro Valley, CA. We were thrilled to try slice house. We had three 12 inch pizzas for $110 and wait 45 minutes for it. They messed up our order and had to wait longer, too. The gluten free pizza is okay and it is incredibly overpriced compared to other gf options that are much better. The workers were not gf knowledgeable and appeared to be confused with gf questions. If you're not gf, you can order slices individually for approximately $6-8 each. A slice and salad are probably a good combo for lunch. A small 12 inch cheese pizza is about $21. Other 12 inch pizzas with toppings range between $25-35. read more

The Little Italy is yummy. The food or service is not the reason for this post. The reason for this post is to bring attention to "BUYER BEWARE" We order 2 slices of "Little Italy" Detroit style $7.75 each. We thought hey let's take some to go for the kids. My hubby went up and ordered a whole "Little Italy" Detroit Style at $36 dollars (Total of 4 Slices) . He came back with the receipt and that's when I realized what in the world! You get charged $5 dollars more if you order the whole pie which makes absolutely no sense if we would order 4 individual slices it would cost us $31 instead of $36. On top of that we ordered 8oz Ranch for $4. Once again we should have ordered the 2oz Ranch for .$.75 which would have saved us $ again. Grateful we are blessed in this economy so we often don't really check the difference between ordering one way vs another but for some reason I thought to check. In my personal opinion this is not an honest way of doing business. I tried giving the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe they are charging $5 for the pizza box, that's absolutely a NO! We were very happy that we found this place. We tried a few different slices of pizza, a salad and wings and the portions were very generous, prices were reasonable, and food was delicious. The service was fast and friendly. We went during a busy time so finding seating (for a party of 3) was difficult because it's a very small building. They have indoor/outdoor seating but it was full and some of the tables were in full sun. The restrooms are also shared with the bakery next door and there was always a line. Would definitely recommend the food and we will be back to try more of their options. read more

Impressed with Slice honestly. Being a New York / New Jersey guy I usually have some pretty high expectations for pizza but I show a little grave in the south. But slice was a solid pizza with a few different options like grandma slice, thin slice and more. I think they are probably the closest to a real ny slice that I've had so far in middle TN. But where they miss the mark for me is the thickness of the crust. It's a bit too thick for me, if it was a bit thinner with more crunch on the under carriage and top of the crust they'd be able to compete with NY pizzerias I think. Solid option for lunch. Would absolutely look forward to returning but really wish it was a thinner slice. read more

Dough alone sets this pizza apart from anything in Franklin and most in Nashville.(shout out to Sho Pizza!) Best 20" pie I've had since NYC. slices are enormous and quite a value as 1 here equals at least 2 anywhere else. pepperoni and sausage are extremely high quality.
