Whoa! I was a bit hesitant to hire a handyman from Yelp since it seems like many of them have reviews from yelpers who have no friends or very minimal reviews. But Yelp hasn't steered me wrong just yet, so I compiled a list of the most loved Handymen and started going down the line. It turns out though that the most sought after handymen were all booked out until Jan. I was getting a little anxious and worried since we only had a 30 day window to make some modifications in the kitchen for Home Depot to come back out and install our appliances we had purchased. I sent a "request for quote" on yelp and Fabian from FD Handyman Services got back to me letting me know they would be able to take care of everything. He sent Giovanni out a couple days later. This was the list of items he took care of: 1. The cabinet above the current microwave is measured at 28.5 from the cooktop, but needs to be raised up to 30 inches 2. The current oven was hardwired, but the new oven requires a 220v outlet installed 3. The previous owners put in the countertop and hardwood floors around the current dishwasher, so the dishwasher cutout is measured at 33.5. The new one requires a 34 inch opening. The countertop trim would need to be cut a .5 in order to get the dishwasher installed. 4. The current dishwasher is directly connected to the garbage disposal, the new one requires an air gap to be installed 5. The hot water angle stop valve was corroded and needed to be replaced 6. The refrigerator line was still connected to the old plastic tube, but we need to switch it out to the steel line and the cold water valve also needed to be replaced It took him about 7 hours to complete the entire list above. He cleaned up after himself well and was really friendly. I came home a couple days later and prepped for Home Depot to come by and install the appliances. I was checking out the wires under the sink when I saw that it was leaking! I had a mini heart attack. Giovanni was able to pick up the parts and get to my house about 1.5 hours later. He got it all fixed up. A couple other items had to be corrected, but he made sure to test everything again before leaving. We're still satisfied with the service Giovanni provided us and will be calling him back for future projects! read more

Unfortunately, I'm not able to critique any work that was done because this company/person was a no-show on the day of my scheduled work being done. I called and gave a summary of what I needed done and asked about their availability. The answer I got was "uh, later in the week". My wife and I work full-time jobs and I have a son, so I'm busy. I kindly asked "could you be a bit more specific? Friday? Saturday? Sunday?". The response I got was "well technically Sunday is the BEGINNING of NEXT week". Sarcastic ass. He told me it would be Friday and I asked what time. He didn't know. He said he would text me closer to the day to nail down a time. Thursday night rolls around and I hadn't heard anything. So I reached out and said I was looking forward to tomorrow "Friday" and asked for a solid time, as I was promised. Guess what, no response. Didn't show up Friday. Didn't communicate at all with me. No apology for no-show. No nothing. Extremely unprofessional and literally the poorest communication. I would give zero stars if I could. We hired a different handyman who charged us SIGNIFICANTLY less than what this asshat quoted us for. Screw this company. Don't waste your time. read more

Fabian was good to talk to but then I got an invoice with his name and another company. The door he replaced had a gap from which you could see in the the bathroom and out! The door he replaced did not have this. He was dumbfounded when I told him it was unacceptable, and that I wasn't going to pay $561 for a hollow bathroom door that wasn't right. On Oct 3rd I hired FD Handyman Services to perform a Heather Installation, I was at the beginning impressed by Fabian's quick response and his professional friendly manner. I got charged 985 dlls for the service. On Dec 3rd, my tenant call me to notify they had a licking problem from the Heather again, Fabian stated that the valve was opened, which was not the problem. I beg him to come and see the situation, He told me next week. My tenant was mad and had already six days with no hot water. Based on the situation, I had to hire someone else to do the job. On the new Handyman report, he told me that the valve was not properly installed, he told me that it was the one that was installed was probably used, the main point here is that the job was not well done. The result of this was 276.00 dlls more, We are still expecting the water bill. I always asked him from the very beginning to send me the invoice for the job performed and to ID himself, based on the fact of that I got his number from a website, he never did it. I aski him to send a photo ID , he refused to do it and that he was going to send an insured contracting service...once again he never did it. I contacted him via WhatsApp and explained everything.... a waste of time! I just want to make the story short but I just can't....once again this is what happens when you trust people you don't know and for me it is not fair!!!!! I don't have nothing on my hands and getting on a legal situation is not really my style. All I can do at this point is to let you know that I am not happy with FD Handyman services AT ALL!!!!!! My house got egged and needed Stucco painted above the garage to the roof. He came by immediately and gave me a very good quote. Came back 1st thing next day and fixed the job. I provided the paint that was supposed to be a perfect match. It was not a perfect match, so he ended up painting the whole wall rather than the 4 or 6 patches. He also did touch up paint around my front gate that I had got white paint on. He did a perfect and timely job and did not charge me any more for the extra touch ups and having to paint the whole wall. I want to get him back for some plumbing work. read more

I was replacing my water heater but the old one had a slight leak so the water heater alcove/stand that it was in had damaged drywall. FD Handyman repaired the drywall and worked with me to coordinate with the water heater installer so that the drywall work was done between the time the water heater was removed and the time it was replaced so that the home was only without hot water for the day. I think the handyman's name is Ralph. He was helpful, professional, courteous and very competent. He had quality materials and pretty impressive tools to do the job - not someone just moonlighting as a handyman. The finished job is of high quality and looked better than the original work.
