We love this place! We had been here passing through a few years ago and looked forward to checking it out again - we were not disappointed! They took us 3 as walk ins although they seemed kind of busy. Our waitress was great and quick - maybe too quick - you might have to slow them down if you want to dine rather than inhale, as they are fast. Prices are phenomenally reasonable. We have been here three times now and every time is as good if not better than the time before! I have been meaning to do a review since our first visit. This place is a 10/5. Yes, I think it is that good. Highest I have ever rated a restaurant. We have not had anything that was not excellent. This place is always busy with good reason, but their computer "waitlist," helps cut the time you wait. It is a bit loud as it is an open restaurant so I would not go if looking for a quiet meal. However, if you are looking for great food at a reasonable price with great service, I cannot recommend anywhere more than FD's Grillhouse! We have had the fish, steaks, chicken, salads, every appetizer they offer, and it has all been wonderful. Not to mention the wonderful key lime pie! I feel bad I cannot remember the first waiter that served us our first time. He was great and set the bar which Bailey and Allie every bit lived up to. They were all very personable, attentive and accommodating. I did not speak with Julian but was told he was the manager. I then watched him and saw leadership by example. I have no idea what kind of manager he is, but he was all over the place, seating people, bringing out food, and zipping here and there performing all kinds of tasks. Everyone there seems engaged and intent on providing the best experience for their customers. I am so sorry, that I did not ask the lady's name that buses tables (in an effort to acknowledge her, I am going to describe her as perhaps Hispanic and on the shorter side), but every time we are there, she is working non-stop. She works calmly but quickly. Everyone makes the process look like a well-oiled machine from seating to serving to cleanup. Every time the food has come out quickly, hot, and delicious. This was a surprise. Just happened upon this place passing through. The shrimp appetizer was delicious.Trio seafood was really good. I had the sirloin and fried shrimp and it was so good. In from out of town, ran across this restaurant on my Yelp app, looked good hit the join wait list, arrived seated almost immediately-mind you they were very busy. Hostess seated exceptionally pleasant, was knowledgeable and answered questions about popular items on the menu. Waitress was super friendly, answered more questions about recommendations, exceptionally attentive. Chose the shrimp appetizer, and the spinach artichoke appetizer - both 10 out of 10. Finished with the steak burger, it too was a 10 out of 10. And if that doesn't impress you the prices were the best value I have had in a very long time. This place is a must try. I am sorry I did not get our servers name, but she was great!!! So friendly and absolutely charming. My husband ordered the fish tacos, which came with a cup of gumbo! He loved that the gumbo came with shrimp, sausage and even had okra in it. The gumbo had a great flavor... a bit spicy, but that's just the way gumbo should be. His fish tacos were packed with all kinds of stuff and very tasty. I had the FD's Trio....fried shrimp, crab stuffed shrimp and Alaskan cod. I chose their mashed potatoes and matchstick veggies. The whole dinner was a HUGE HOME RUN! The coating on the fried shrimp and cod was light and crispy. The crab stuffed shrimp was other-worldly....so very good. I judge restaurants by their mashed potatoes and these get a big ole A+!!!! Matchstick veggies offered a bit of tasty relief from all the richness. Our server brought drink refills without having to ask for them (nice touch). The restaurant is just so cozy and a great place to enjoy a great meal. We left this restaurant with full hearts and full stomachs. From the moment we sat down, we felt well taken care of. Our server, Hunter, was absolutely amazing--attentive without being overbearing, kind, and genuinely focused on making our evening special. For that, we're truly grateful. The food was outstanding. My wife enjoyed a perfectly cooked New York strip, tender and flavorful with every bite. I had the FD Trio, which featured Alaskan cod, stuffed shrimp, and grilled shrimp--each prepared with care and bursting with flavor. It was one of those meals where you slow down just to savor each bite. We're thankful for the wonderful service and the incredible meal. It's not often you find both in one place, but tonight we did. Stayed in Branson, but went to Springfield for a graduation. The graduate recommended FD's. This is the only restaurant that I would drive from Branson to Springfield to eat. Gracey and Bruce were our servers. Both were great. Gracey immediately removed trash ( which is a rarity now days). The service reminded me of a cruise vacation from several decades ago. My wife and I shared the trio ( salmon, shrimp and chicken tenders) plus baked potato, steamed broccoli and a salad. Our bill was a bit over $20 plus tip. The only thing I wish we would have changed is we would double up the shrimp instead of the chicken. 3 at our table raved at the sirloin. My father in law said his baby back rips were wonderful. Everyone raved at the food and the service. My only warning is get there early--- don't expect to walk to table at noon. We got there when it opened at 11am and they accommodated our group of 8 immediately. My brother in law drove back for a return trip a couple days later ( I had to go home). My opinion is since Covid most places don't do good service anymore. FD's does. read more

I order the North Atlantic wild caught salmon dinner cut every time I'm in the area. The service is fast, friendly and top notch! The vibe I get is a fancy restaurant that isn't over priced. The restaurant is always packed when I go in. The parking lot is always full! I usually have a 10-25 minute wait and it's definitely worth the wait. I don't feel rushed to leave/pay when they're fully packed. I'm from West Plains and I will travel to Springfield just for a trip to this restaurant to go out to eat then go back home. read more

Amazing Service All the servers are so nice and trained so well ,we are frequent flyers here and the food is always amazing , last night I tried the Ruby Red trout with white wine butter sauce , the fish was cooked perfectly and so clean and fresh tasting , our Server Matthew recommended it and told us the seafood is flown in 2x a week fresh !! We weren't going to come back...but then.... If you were waiting 45 minutes for your dinner to arrive after ordering, would you return to that eatery even though the food was excellent? At first I told my wife Karen absolutely not! Then we stopped manager Bart and had a wonderful heart to heart talk. He explained, even with Karen's allergen specific meal, it should have never taken that long to prepare and serve even though our wait staff person Aliyah H had told us otherwise that it was the norm. Bart profusely apologized and made sure on our next visit to contact him directly, and that we will do! Sadly, their are not many restaurants in the 417 area that we can frequent due to Karen's dairy and gluten requirements. Glad, after just moving into the area just a little over a month ago, downsizing from 10 years of residence in Branson West that we have truly found another one we can support!
