    Cajun Fried Rice and chicken
    David L.

Service is kind of slow. Place is very clean. An okay place for quick lunches or big groups or takeout. The fried chicken is pretty amazing. The fried rice isn't so. Tho that's to be expected since I did grow up in a family Chinese restaurant. I will try the noodles with fried chicken next time. Gumbo is ok. It's not bad but it's not great either. Is it cheap? It's so so since their combos come with a drink so it won't cost you $20 like the boba place next door for a meal and a drink. Would I go back. I guess so since it's better priced than the over priced taco place nearby. If you want Cajun flavor, this might be it... need to try some of their other more Cajun style food. Tho I will prolly never get the crayfish bc I'm just not into that. But if you are it might be worth a shot. But then again this place is true to being a 3.5 star restaurant. So up to you. Average C+

    Cajun Fish & Chips (Spicy)

I never see anyone in here or talking about it!! Truly underrated imo. I always get the fish & chips with cajun seasoning, it's so much food for an appetizer!! It always comes freshly made, hot and crispy. As someone who hates left overs, it's just enough food and relatively budget friendly (for what I get, $12!!) compared to other places in davis. And don't get me started on the lemonade. Half the price of boba places ($3!!) and the lycee lemonade is incredible. However, if you come here for a seafood boil, you may have a different experience as I've never tried one so keep that in mind!! Highly recommend if you are looking for a midday snack or lunch.

Really enjoy their seafood boil. Expect to pay about $40 for an individual serving. The flavor was amazing. Flavorful Asian entrees. In the past, they have lunch specials that was $10 for a drink and an entree. I remember their Cajun fried chicken being so good. The restaurant is very modern with white walls, light wood accents, and plants. There is also outdoor seating. Their service is pretty fast. Maybe a $10 wait for a takeout order at most.

Love this place. It's a straight up and honest homage to simple ingredients with minimal fuss. We had the combo that had one pound of shrimp, mussels, clams, crayfish. The dish included a cob O'corn, a potato or two and not much else. You can get a few styles of broth to suit your taste. We opted for the traditional Cajun offering that was piquant but not overly spicy. Love this place.

What was amazing was that they were super Covid friendly. A lot of self serve to avoid contact + I love how they assumed we were tech savvy to do it ourselves. Food was delicious. I got a pound of shrimp, added corn, sausage, and potatoes + a side of French fries. Best meal I had in a while, cost about $30 including tips. My friend got their mussels which was super good as well! Recommend with my utmost respectful regard!

Since I was too lazy to cook at that time, I decided to order a quick meal during one of my long study breaks. It was my first time ordering from Cajun Feast and the Yelp reviews definitely persuaded my decision to do so. The food and drink are actually pretty good! To satisfy my fried chicken craving, I ordered Cajun Popcorn Chicken that I paired with steamed jasmine rice. The chicken was crispy and juicy. The seasoning they added was a bit too sweet for my liking though. The Housemade Puff Pastry Egg Tart was light, airy, which paired nicely with my iced milked tea. I would definitely like to give this place and other dishes another try in the near future.

Ordered through door dash last week, finally getting a chance to finish my review. I got an order of the Cajun popcorn chicken and an order of the gumbo and rice. My order was accepted within the minute and I actually got my order pretty fast. The popcorn chicken was AMAZING. The gumbo was pretty good too, even the rice was nice and soft/sticky. My only complaint would be the gumbo only had 1 single shrimp in it. It was still really flavorful regardless. Would order from here again :)

    The infamous "Gravy Boil"
    Will S.

This is by far the worst service and food I've ever experienced in my life....first and foremost I had to order my food on a janky kiosk machine that had the nerve to automatically recommend a 15% tip What exactly am I tipping for?? Additionally they have a sign that says "bus your own table" ....... Insanity. All to have a young woman with AirPods in her ear with no customer service skills drop my food off and not say one word. I ordered 120+ dollar seafood boil with King crab legs, mussels, corn, sausage and potatoes. Absolutely disgusting. I did NOT order a kfc gravy drenched boil with with unpeeled shrimp boo boo, unseasoned potatoes, bland corn and sausage I had to catch on my own because they "forgot" to add them in after they remembered to charge me for them. I will never in my life waste my time and money on something this atrocious. Neither should you. I almost called the show "Catfish" when my gravy boil came out because it was NOT the picture advertised on the wall. This is borderline illegal and not only will I be disputing the charge on my credit card but I'll also be seeking legal counsel for this food robbery that was committed tonight. Change the name immediately!!! There is nothing "Cajun" about Feast Cajun and I should have known that when my lemonade came in a Boboa cup..... bruhhhhh

*** Vegetarian Review *** Pro: Can't get any closer to the campus Con: Parking can be a hurdle if you just want to order takeout Tips for First-Timers: 1. There is limited street parking, but be aware of the posted signage. Nothing worse than coming back to your car and seeing a ticket on the windshield. 2. Outdoor seating available 3. They have a $6 daily value meal 4. You can customize your own meal with their "Create Your Down Dish" option. You build a dish by choosing one of each following starch, style, protein, base and sauce. Would I Come Back Test? Yes for the noodles. In fact, I'm looking forward to returning to try their garlic noodle. No for the Mapo Tofu. Comparisons: If you're a Wok of Flame regular, you'll stay a Wok of Flame regular for most dishes, but you may have a new spot for your noodle needs. Build My Own (Grade A) - I choose the egg noodle, stir fried with their signature house sauce, and fried tofu for my protein. It's worth saying these days that the tofu was fresh because I've run into some restaurants that are pushing the suggested Use-By-Date to the limit. I'm guessing not a lot of patrons order the tofu so what they have, is what they have. So, fresh tofu isn't just a given for this past year. Their signature sauce was artfully drizzled so it didn't overwhelm the plate and make it too salty. The star of the show was the egg noodle. I won't go as far as say it was homemade noodle, but it had a nice texture and the egg noodle was the perfect vessel for all vegetables. I particularly liked that the noodle to everything else ratio was 2:1 - thanks for being so generous with the starch in my build-my-own. Mapo Tofu (Grade C-) - You can order this either as a rice or noodle dish. Since we ordered noodles already, we decided to balance our shared meal with rice. The good. Plenty of fresh tofu. The bad. It was overwhelmingly salty. Not sure if it was a mistake or this is how the dish is typically prepared, but between the two of us, we ultimately just pick out the tofu and avoided the sauce. Bottom Line: The guy that was working was super nice and attentive. Filling our waters regularly. (Yup, the salt made us really thirsty). Their noodle dishes appear to be the stars of the show and with the proximity to the campus, super easy to get to between classes.

Been here once before COVID, and I actually like eating the food here. I got the popcorn chicken here since I heard it was pretty good. Taste: 10/10, especially with the spicy powder on top. It's very umami and I like eating it alone, but it also works best with rice! I actually prefer this over itea's popcorn chicken. Price: It's a little on the pricier, but to get an actual crispy and crunchy popcorn chicken is rare. It's under $10 so I'll take it. Service: I called for a phone order so I can only speak from this experience. They were fast and efficient, and the time I came, there was no line so I got my food fast. Feast is one of my favorite restaurants in Davis, and I'd come here again!

My husband was craving a seafood boil and we wanted to go to a nice restaurant in a nice area and this place was perfect. We ordered the Seafood Combo #1 with Shrimp, Crawfish, Mussels, Corn, Potato, Sausage, and we mixed all the sauces and medium spicy. We also ordered the Spicy Signature Jambalaya Fried Rice that was so amazing and delicious. It definitely had a kick! We look forward to returning here!

Cajun Feast is located right next to the MU, so it's pretty convenient for students but may be less so for other people. Parking is hard to find. I find a lot of their food to be very dry. The Cajun fried chicken is flavorful but pretty dry. The rice plate was plain and also a bit dry. The ordering system is pretty autonomous and the staff could be more welcoming. They have a nice modern interior though

Wow! This order totally exceeded my expectations. I've been meaning to check this place out since they opened last year. They had a 50% off sale during spring break so I decided to finally check them out. The house special sauce was delicious! As other yelpers have said, better than the equivalent (whole shebang) at boiling crab. I ordered it medium spicy and it wasn't very spicy, but that's ok it's better to have it not spicy enough than to have it be too spicy. You can see that I replated it at home with some brown rice to make the picture more yelp worthy haha. The salt & pepper calamari was very good. Surprisingly still crispy even after the drive home. Typically I don't like creamy sauces but the sauce it came with complemented the dish well. The egg tarts were okay. The egg custard was very tasty. The puff pastry was still crispy even though I got them at the end of the day (7pm). Though, the puff pastry did have a hint of fry oil. Maybe they were prepping the puff pastry next to the deep fryer? I guess that's what I get for ordering pastries from a seafood restaurant though. The soy milk is made in house and was very fresh. I might order it less sweet next time. It was very good and reminded me of the soy milk I had in my childhood. Overall, totally exceeded my expectations and I will definitely be back! They packaged everything nicely for takeout, the shrimp came in an extra plastic bag which did help as some of the sauce leaked out, but not a lot.

One here at least a handful of times per year. Their food is generally good and their portion size is large. This summer they are running a special (10% off your bill, plus additional 5% if paid in cash). For a Saturday evening, they did not have many diners, two other larger groups, a couple smaller tables of patrons and a couple few takeout orders. The main reason for coming here is for their Dim Sum items, but some items are not available after 2pm. They have a pretty extensive menu for non-dim sum items. Most of their food is pretty good including the dim sum items. Portion size is large, so there is usually leftovers to take home. Today, the service is lacking quite a bit. Had to wave down the server many times during our meal, to order, ask a couple times for water and missing napkins, water refill, didn't check if we needed more hot tea, boxes for left overs, getting the bill, etc. Another ding for them is that we were given and billed for 2 items (chicken buns and steamed long beans) that we Did Not Order. I didn't not complain about it because we were fine eating the extra food, but that was annoying! Overall dining experience was 3/5 stars. Food was a solid 4/5 stars. Service was 2.5/5 stars. There are so many Chinese food options now in Davis. Not sure what's up with the service, but they really need to step that up if they expect customers to keep coming back.

Every single item was just fresh number one and two the flavors were so like bursting in your mouth but they all complimented each other. We ordered a lot of food and each time I tried something it still tasted as good even when it started to cool down a little bit. I will say my favorite item though, because I do like a little bit more spice but I would like things to be flavorful as well, was The wonton with the chili oil and sauce. The feeling was just the perfect amount when you took a bite you got a little bit of the meat portion but the sauce because it was covering it so nicely with a little bit of the crunch it just was a great mix of textures and flavors and the chili oil itself wasn't spicy it was just flavorful it had spices. I will say the group of three eight pretty much everything except maybe one spare rib. We almost had to roll ourselves out of there but it was so worth it and I would highly recommend checking this place out but word of caution do not go if you are hungry because again this place is popular and you might have to wait so make sure you have a good amount of time and that you're allowing yourself to really enjoy the space and try out all the deliciousness.

Beef Fried Rice Noodles: How do you differentiate if this dish is good or not, it is about how much excessive oil that's left on the plate. I went from a thin top to a medium weight sweater. We arrived in Davis I grabbed my jacket to pair with my sweater. Today was a day spent exploring Davis to see the California Conference for the Advancement of Ceramic Arts (CCACA). What a great Conference. We come each year for this Conference and explore Davis every time we are here. After exploring the first building of the show it was coming on time to eat. We looked around the current shopping center and my husband didn't see anything he was craving. He said we'll go more into town and look for a noodle place. He said he remembered one from our last visit, down one of the alleys. Walking up the street we saw a couple of advertisements. A sandwich board was on the sidewalk for Davis Noodle CIty, the exact place we were looking for. The little Noodle Shop in the alley. We weaved through the other businesses, past the dumpling restaurant, past the outdoor seating and to the front door of the Davis Noodle City Restaurant. The out door seating looked really welcoming, but it was chilly out so we opted for eating inside with the other table that was occupied. There were 3 parties eating outside when we arrived. When we walked inside we were greeted and told to take any table. We choose a table in the corner. The menus were under the glass table top, keeping it clean and easy to read. Each place setting had its own copy of the menu. After looking at the menu, remembering what was offered on the sandwich board in front, and cross referencing it with Yelp Reviews we started ordering. We opted for the Five Spice Beef Noodles, and I asked if that was a good option and she said it was their top seller. The Yelp Reviews were only ok for that dish, but I took our chances. The second dish we ordered was the Dan Dan Noodles She tried to upscale us to the one with vegetables, but that dish was a cold dish so we when for the standard Dan Dan Noodles. Both dishes came out quickly. The Dan Dan noodles were not spicy as I anticipated, which was good, I wasn't really looking for spicy. I liked the flavor and realized that if you mixed it up there is a sauce on the bottom that is really tasty. Dan Dan Noodles ($8.25 a steal) is a solid dish and I highly reccomend it. It's a great bowlful of noodles. If you are hopping for other ingredients you are out of luck, it's 100% noodles with a sprinkling of peanuts on top and a sauce on the bottom. The Five Spice Beef Noodle Soup ($12.75)was as described in the reviews. It comes with American Broccoli and carrots. The beef is so good it melts in your mouth. The broth is minimal and lacked flavor. I'd think that it's advertised as Five Spice that it would have more flavor. I don't reccomend it if you are looking for a strong flavor. If you are looking for great meat, that melts in your mouth, but is also a little fatty then you have the perfect dish. Both dishes came with fresh noodles, none of those dried and rehydrated noodles that some places serve. The noodles on both dishes were different and pleasant. I highly reccomend their fresh noodles. Customer service was good. She came to check up on us and was pleasant. Parking is street parking. And they have a bathroom on site that is clean and well stocked.

My dad invited my boyfriend and I to eat at Tasty Gourmet and I was so satisfied with the food and…read moreservice!!! We had the most amazing server. I didn't catch her name, but she was an older woman and she took such great care of us. She recommended the wor wonton soup and told us how the wontons were made in house. They were soooooooooo delicious. I would come back just for that alone. We also ordered prawns in lobster sauce, Mongolian beef, pork soup dumplings, and chicken chow-main. They were so good!! All the dishes had so much flavor and everything tasted fresh. We were so full, but she recommended some sesame balls and let me tell you... OMG they were everything!!! It was my first time trying them and I can't stop thinking about them. The red bean paste has the perfect sweetness and texture to it. I can't wait to go back and try all the recommendations she gave us!!

This location is a hidden gem in the outskirts of Davis, not your typical location in downtown or…read morein south Davis but the food and service speaks for itself. We ordered the following: Fried Wings 6/10 - Was expecting additional seasonings but it is literally just fried wings Fried Squid (calamari) 8/10 - Seasoned well and comes with Jalepenos, nice texture and good General Chicken 9.5/10 - Sweet and Spicy, fried perfectly and very delicious, would come again just for this dish Combo Fried Pan Noodle 8/10 - Comes with seafood and noodles, I enjoyed the variety of different seafood options on this dish We ate this at the restaurant and the service was amazing, they had one person running the whole front operation from cashier to answering phone orders, and serving customers. Would totally come again, the portions are amazing for the price.
