The best thing about this place is the best sushi place in Morristown, K.C. Sushi - great rolls at a good price, always fresh, highly highly recommended. I walked past 15 times before trying a roll, and now I get dinner there once a week. As a sushi fanatic, I love having it in my backyard and you should too. Back to the produce stand . . decent food options but somewhat overpriced - go there for fresh produce and lots of it. If you want to spend $10/lb for portabello mushrooms, go to King's. For $3.49/lb, go here. Your call.

But it ain't a farmer's market, and it ain't a sushi place either. As of July 2013 the in-store sushi counter is definitely closed so all those glowing reviews of take-out rolls ain't much help anymore. The produce includes a broad selection of fruits and veggies especially ethnic specialties like yucca and chilies. Outside they sell plants and inside they sell cut flowers. The medium-size fresh-fish counter has whole and cut finfish, scallops and a few clams And there's all sorts of North and Latin American groceries too, stacked high and packed in tightly. Also lots of gourmet jams and jellies, go figure. Here you'll find lots of supplies for central and south American cooking. This store is where I finally I found maseca, the dried flour used to make tortillas and tamales. I also like the huge selection of pre-boxed snack foods, so difficult to resist!

This place has everything Italian your heart desires and more. They have an amazing long display of homemade prepared foods. It's the biggest one I've ever seen for an Italian market in NJ. You can find chicken cutlets, broccoli rabe, arancini, carbonara cappellini, potato and cheese croquettes, cakes, fruiti de mare salad, several types of seafood salads, crab cakes, eggplant parm, sicilian eggplant, jumbo fried shrimp, specialty burgers and sliders, several types of prepared salmon, grilled and roasted vegetables, an antipasto bar, an entire cheese department with imported and homemade cheeses, such as homemade mozzarella, bocconcini, basket cheese aka"formaggio da pasta filata" ( yes and not just at the holidays) and homemade ricotta. They have tons and tons of all different types of olives. Uncle Giuseppe's sells Italian and imported specialty products. They have a fresh meat department, a fresh fish department, a full deli, fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh pastas, a variety of homemade ravioli's, a coffee bar with assorted expresso beans, and other flavored beans you can grind. A variety of Imported canned tomatoes and products from Italy. Homemade peanut butter you grind on the spot fresh with no additives. They have a nice selection of imported olive oils and vinegars. There's a hot takeout bar with meatballs, different kinds of pasta, chicken and vegetables. They even have a section where they make a variety of homemade pizzas. For dessert they have a bakery department that sells all types of Italian cookies, cakes, breads, pastries you name it they have it. As I walked around there were employees giving out samples of a variety of foods. Everything I tried was wonderful. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. This store has everything neatly displayed and very clean. I spent 2 hours here. I bought their brand of homemade imported extra virgin olive oil, antipasto, cheese & spinach ravioli's,bread, dried farro, vegetables, and cheeses. This store is a bit pricey but the quality and variety are simply amazing! There is a large free parking lot. You can grab a shopping cart, and near the entrance there are a few handicapped spots. I will definitely be back it's worth the trip. We drove an hour

For $125/person, I had expected better tasting food though. The small appetizers (spinach salad, prosciutto, Parmesan, olives) may have been put together from a grocery store. For the pasta that we rolled out, the staff only added a plain tomato sauce. The side of vegetables was overcooked and mushy. Tiramisu was all right. We can blame the taste and texture of the pasta on ourselves, because we made it, but I had expected the rest of the food prepared by professionals to be better. No drinks were included -- Healthy Italia is BYOB. There was a nice intro video from the owner telling us about her history and philosophy. She said that she doesn't measure ingredients, and only mixes by feel. How does one teach a cooking class like this? If someone is taking a cooking class, they are less experienced and need precise measurements and instructions. Our flour and water were measured for us, so I guess they do measure something. We were never told the measurements, so didn't have any recipe or any specific learnings to take home. I enjoyed the social time with my group, and especially the long table set out for our group in true Italian fashion. It made us feel like a big cohesive family. However, for $125/person, I felt like we could have had a true learning experience elsewhere or had a much better Italian dinner at a restaurant with drinks. In fact, on the subsequent evening, a few individuals from our group went to a restaurant and ordered similar items served at this cooking class, and the food was remarkably better. And yes, it was less than $125/person with drinks.

The service felt "off" all night, despite the staff's best efforts. Upon arrival, our party of four was led to a table set for only three. Since the restaurant was packed, we had to stand awkwardly in the dining area for several minutes while a chair was brought over from the bar. The host was very apologetic and graciously provided a complimentary order of the Focaccia appetizer ($16) to make amends. However, when we later asked our server for one piece of bread to finish the leftover whipped ricotta, a runner brought out an entire second order of Focaccia.. which eventually turned up on our bill. To their credit.. they later comped the two coffees we ordered with dessert. The bar and kitchen are clearly talented, but the evening continued to have strange pacing and communication gaps. I had the Local Rotisserie Chicken ($32), a generous airline-style cut that was incredibly tender and flavorful, served with perfectly prepared market greens and roasted potatoes. My companion thoroughly enjoyed the Gulf Shrimp Casarecce ($30), and another guest was very impressed with the Chili Brined Grilled Pork Chop ($41), which was both a generous portion and packed with flavor. A manager informed one guest that the linguine for their Crab and Jalapeño dish ($34) didn't meet their standards and asked if it was okay to substitute casarecce instead. While we appreciate the quality control, it was an odd mid-meal adjustment. The Morris Proper has all the ingredients for a five-star destination, but the front-of-house coordination needs to match the high caliber of the kitchen. The primary reasons I'm settling on four stars are these small service lapses and a high noise level that made it difficult for our party of four to converse at a reasonable volume. We will definitely be back. PRO TIP: Complimentary parking is available in the M Station garage. We initially pulled into the 'Retail Parking' area from the Spring Place entrance, but there were neither any spots available nor any signs to direct us to parking elsewhere. If you're visiting the Morris Proper for dinner during the week or any time on the weekend, enter through the main Morris Street entrance to the M Station garage (between 100 and 110 Morris Street) and have your parking ticket validated by the host.
