    Linguine with Clams
    Alex W.

My fiancé and I came the day that we got engaged. They don't take reservations and there was about a 30 minute wait so we went to a bar nearby to enjoy some water views and a celebratory drink. Fortunately, Fede was able to honor our request and get us one of the two tables that overlooked the water in the restaurant. Service was very friendly and they congratulated us on our engagement. The food was excellent as well and prices were very reasonable. We got the Sablefish, Linguine with Clams, and Pappardelle. Everything was delicious and while we almost added a Fennel Salad, I was glad that we didn't in the end as it was just the right amount of food for 2. Would definitely be open to coming back in the future.

It's a nice treat when you have friends that visit a city frequently enough to make recommendations. The combination of Yelp info, plus knowing a name or two, made for a wonderful visit to Astoria. While Fede isn't located on the end of the pier that it calls home, my table did have a bit of a view of the river. But the view isn't why you should come here. For me, the revelation was a crostini appetizer with preserved tomatoes and ricotta. For my wife, it was the fish soup. And we hadn't even gotten to the entrees yet. The cocktails we chose were light and refreshing. PS - the lasagna with bechamel was also a delight. Fede doesn't take reservations, so I imagine it's packed during the summer. Easily worth being a centerpiece for an off-season visit to Astoria.

Cannot be beat! Such an amazing meal with great service and even better food! The tomato crostini was possibly the best thing i've ever eaten! Overall excellent dinner!

The food, drinks and staff are all amazing!! Some of the best pasta and dishes I've ever had! I always look forward to a meal here. No reservations but it is so worth the wait. You cannot go wrong with anything on their menu!

To start, they do not take reservations, they are small and committed to their craft. You can't order to go, cause they make small batches and want to make sure everyone that comes in has opportunity to get what they want to order. They have a drink on their menu which proceeds go to cancer research, which I love. Bonus that it was delicious, but I was going for it anyways. We ordered focaccia and olives, which were great and we both wanted more of the focaccia, but knew we had 3 more courses coming. I had soup, my sister salad. The only downside for the cucumber salad was it was a little too much salad for that type of salad. The carbonara was cooked perfectly al dente, a tad too much sauce, but you know...I could just not lick the plate, it's fine. I needed more protein and my sister wanted desert so last course, I had pork shoulder and she had tiramisu. The pork was incredibly tender, quite literally fell apart with a fork pull. The tiramisu was substantial. The staff knew what they were about and treated people genuinely rather than overly nice. More like "welcome home" vibes. I've already recommended this restaurant to several people.

The service and food here are top notch. Genuinely the best food we had anywhere on the Oregon coast. It is a small restaurant and you are able to see the kitchen front and center. Absolutely would come here again and recommend to anyone visiting Astoria.

This is a magnificent spot. You need to be organized to secure a table, because it fills up fast. The wait staff is practiced and friendly, the location on the water is gorgeous, and overall this is a very special find. The fish soup (cioppino?) is just amazing. I think it's better than what I have had in Italy, Sicily or San Francisco. My wife had the ravioli the first night, and the prawn linguine the second. I would be happy to work through the entire menu! If you're going through Astoria, don't miss it.

I was craving some Italian food and came across Fede. Definitely you will need to make reservations, I did not. I had a little bit of a wait and it was worth it. Restaurant is close to the water of the Columbia river and the food is amazing.

"WOW" really encapsulates my partner and I's dinner experience here. We originally planned on going to the SEA Crab House, but saw the menu on the window of this place and couldn't help but change our plans. Their menu is broken into courses with the smaller/shareable plates in courses 1-2, and the heartier options in courses 3-4. Everything on the menu looked terrific, which made it so hard to choose. We ended up starting with the deviled eggs & arugula salad, and then each got a pasta for our main course. I really want to emphasize I am not exaggerating at all when I say that all of the food was absolutely splendid AND, if that isn't enough, the prices are great. My shrimp linguine was a very generous portion and only $18. The quality of the food compared to the price is probably the best I've ever experienced. Also, the deviled eggs are a must. On top of the food being great, our waitress was amazing. She was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. It wasn't super busy when we first arrived (maybe 4:30pm), but the place was pretty full with people waiting by the time we left. After one dinner, Fede is 100% our new go-to dinner spot when visiting Astoria. I can't wait to come back and try other items on the menu!

Adorable Italian restaurant right by the water. We walked in at opening without issue. Deliciously flavorful Italian food with friendly service. Loved watching the sea lions from the window while we ate. Would recommend for anyone looking for a nice meal with ambience/views while out in Astoria.

She suggested the beef medallions with mushrooms, so we got that, as well as the house lasagna. Both were absolutely delicious! Lasagna is his all time favorite - and what his mother would have made him if we had been able to make it back East for his birthday, (but we got stormed out). I was thrilled that he thought this was just as good. I don't do mushrooms but can maneuver my way around them (which means picking them out at putting them on my boyfriends plate). The restaurant is charming and intimate and decor very much takes you from Seaside, OR to any small town in Italy (or Little Italy in NYC). Maria was our server (according to the receipt) and she was awesome! She was personable, and spent time visiting with us and telling us the history of the restaurant. She also helped me be sneaky and hid the little birthday cake I snuck in my bag and hid it in back, then had brought it out later; adding a bunch of ice cream to it - and got the other restaurant guests to suing Happy Birthday to him. My boyfriend is fairly private so this intimate setting and delicious food, was exactly what he wanted and a wonderful surprise for him.

The food was good, but didn't impress me as much as it did on our last visit. I had carbonara, which is always my go-to baseline meal, and it wasn't bad, tasted ok, but didn't blow me away at all. My wife did enjoy her dish, however, and our drinks were very tasty too. It might have just been me, so I'm not going to say don't go here, you absolutely should, because this is probably the most authentic Italian you're going to get in this area and it's worth a visit!

We also know how she feels about the woman who is opening in the morning. (She doesn't like her) The woman at the front counter does not care that I have never been here before or that I still have 42 minutes before their 9 o clock closing time or that a menu is not readily available- she wants to know what I want to order NOW. I am waiting for a "pizza" as I was rushed into ordering something and am not sure what they have available without the menu she is unwilling to give me. I hope there is pepperoni on it, but I was scared to ask. I am giving this place two stars before even trying the food (not sure I want it if the food mirrors her attitude) because she is terrifying and I am scared what will happen if I only give her one. Hey lady, I get you don't want to be here. Everyone gets you don't want to be here. But chill. And give the sweet young man who brought my pizza to me the 30% tip I gave you on a carry out order.

We own a house in Long Beach, and during the time we lived there full-time, this was our go-to spot for anniversaries and my husband's birthdays. It exudes that cozy, historic Seaview charm that invites you to relax and linger...warm, intimate, and full of character without being over the top. A true small-town and now not so hidden gem. My husband is a fan of their Old Fashioneds, particularly those with a smoked maple twist, and he often gravitates back to the slow-braised pork. Their current Southern Comfort Pork dish is just his style: slow-braised pork shoulder served over brown sugar yam mash with jalapeño creamed corn, green onion, and maple-bacon salsa. That's comfort food crafted with real culinary skill. As someone who follows a plant-based diet, I truly appreciate how The Depot makes an effort to accommodate vegetarian and vegan diners in a way that feels genuine rather than forced. Last winter, I was thrilled to discover the ginger-coconut soba noodles, they were flavorful, satisfying, and perfectly balanced. Their current mika soba noodles with garlic-ginger coconut cream, vegetables, toasted cashews, and cilantro are exactly the kind of dish I'm thankful to find on a Peninsula menu. I also have fond memories of Burger Wednesdays from our time on the Peninsula. It's incredible how satisfying a customized portobello burger can be when a kitchen understands texture and seasoning especially in a place where plant-based options can still be scarce. The food is fantastic, but the service deserves a special mention. While Peninsula restaurants are known for their good service, The Depot's service is exceptional: polished, friendly, warm, and just the right amount of attentive. Although we now reside in California, we plan to make another reservation when we return to the Long Beach Peninsula in July. I'm already looking forward to their summer menu. Because we were driving through on our road trip, we decided to make a stop here for a late lunch this last Tuesday afternoon, around 2:15 pm. After looking around (there is also a counter that you can order made to order sandwiches and burritos), I ended up deciding to purchase the following: Peanut Chicken Sesame Noodle Salad, $8.99- This was quite a massive portion so I only ended up eating about 1/3 of it and then had the rest over the next few days (I ended up mixing it with some chopped cucumbers and tomatoes that I had to make a large salad). I loved the peanut sesame dressing and noodles in this salad but wished there was more chicken. Mayak Egg Noodle Bowl, $8.99- My husband picked this salad for himself but I didn't have any. He thought it was good and appreciated something fresh, as his bowl had shredded cabbage, like my salad, and cucumbers and shredded carrots. Pumpkin Pie, $6.99- My husband saw this small pumpkin pie and decided to get it because he is such a big fan of it. I actually don't like pumpkin as much as when I was much younger. But I did like this pie and thought the flavors were well balanced, not too overly sweet. ---------------------------------------- (Total= $24.97) I really appreciated that the little dining area (there is also an outdoor dining area as well but because it had rained previously, we opted to sit inside) had plastic bowls and plates available for you to put your food in. This was helpful for me to be able to thoroughly mix my noodle salad since the dressing was mostly on the bottom. Then after I mixed it, I just put it back in the plastic container and only left about 1/3 of the salad in my bowl to eat.
