I will first say that we have lived in the Southwest since 2008 and eat Mexican food all the time. Been here for the last 3 months and we're missing it. Karely was a friendly and helpful server. So we were kind of disappointed with the food here. Maybe to others that don't eat it all the time they may think it is good. The Quesdilla with shredded beef was very good, chorizo taco, arroz con pollo that were average, salsa below average and the deep fried ice cream was different and very good. So from what we are used to it was just average.

Nicely located restaurant and was moderately busy on Wednesday evening. We ordered standard dishes i.e burrito, shrimp platters, shrimp & chicken tacos and stuffed pepper. Seafood was the protien in all our orders. Quantity was above average, though flavors were lacking. Not cheap i.e. the price point did not support the quality. At best 2 stars.

We were visiting for the day and decided to try this place. Great ambiance, wonderful service and yummy food. We usually get burritos or enchiladas and today we got enchiladas, one was enchiladas rojas and the other enchiladas suiza. They were really good! Most importantly, chips and salsa (& beans) came right to the table no extra cost, gotta love it.

Since we are from Arizona, where there is a lot of Mexican food, we took a chance on Mexican Food while in Oregon. To our surprise this was more authentic than many places in AZ!! We got to talking to the bartender/waitress and found out she is from Sonora Mexico, just over the border from Arizona! Food was great, service was great and the drinks were some of the most unusual combination Margaritas we have ever had! Not super strong, but super tasty!!

We discovered El Jarocho a couple of years ago, and it has become one of our regular stops whenever we visit Astoria. The location is great for anybody walking around downtown or on the waterfront, and the space is very comfortable, with a great river view from the bar. The food is fresh and authentic. They make their salsa and use genuine queso, Mexican-style cheese, on the nachos. The "small" nachos are a light lunch for two, while the large would easily feed three. The steak option is delicious, and well worth an extra $2. The drinks are generous, the blue margarita has become a favorite. It's as big as it looks in the picture. The prices are reasonable and the staff is relaxed, friendly and efficient. When we're having lunch or an early dinner in Astoria, you'll find us there.

Great spot for lunch or dinner. Nice view from the bar. Margaritas were tasty and the lunch portions were huge! Loved the #1 Enmoladas on the lunch menu.

It's packed with maritime artifacts, tropical decor and weathered wood. Glass floats and glowing lanterns hang from the ceiling....a glowing puffer fish looks down on the patrons. Such incredible attention to detail, including a thunder and lightning effect, making you feel like you discovered a hidden Tavern filled with stories from another era. It's immersive without feeling gimmicky and the handcrafted tiki cocktails are just as memorable as the atmosphere. Im a tequila girlie so I ordered the only tequila drink, Sirens Song, my husband got the Mango Flip with Jalapeno vodka. Both were delicious!! The Sirens Song was served in a cool Octopus mug. We wandered upstairs to check out Yakimon Izakaya, a Japanese bar tucked inside Dead Man's Isle. Walking in feels like you've stepped into a tiny back alley bar in Tokyo. Every inch of the walls and shelves are packed with Japanese collectibles, vintage signs, anime figures, kaijuu memorabilia, and nostalgic treasures...tons of Godzilla! You can spend an hour just taking it all in. The atmosphere is cozy, quirky, and incredibly authentic, and with a fantastic selection of whiskey, sake & cocktails. Whether you're an anime fan, a collector, or just appreciate unique bars with tons of personality, this place is an absolute gem. It's one of those spots I'll be telling people about long after our trip to Astoria. Highly recommend both!!

I went with the Cobra's Fang it was boozy, fruity, a little spicy just as described, and served in the most perfect tiki mug (that snake face was almost too cute to drink out of). Tasted great, but like any good tiki drink, it's sneaky strong, pace yourself. They've got a fun food menu too, but I was too full to try anything sooo next time. With a drink list this deep (multiple Mai Tai riffs, a Zombie, a Volcano Bowl for the table), I'll definitely be back to work my way through it. Service was solid and they had their hands full while we were there and still took great care of us.

The Knot provided the perfect combination of both. The food was excellent! In particular, we absolutely loved the pickled rockfish, salmon chowder, salted chocolate caramel custard and house-made citrus NA ginger ale. It simply made me want to return for a longer and slower visit! Maybe to sit by the fire pit out front while watching life go by. A bonus was a (free) EV hook up adjacent to the property.

The view is outstanding and you can sit outside in the nice weather which we had that day because the inside is very small. We even saw a sea lion swimming off the pier as we enjoyed our drinks. A little pricey for what you get but overall still good but not somewhere I would return to with all the other options in the area.

Appearances are not deceiving, that's all that there is. Plus, without the "wall o liquor" behind the bar, they are not going to make you "that cocktail you had once in the Bahamas" or even a whisky sour. Their boundaries are much tighter than that. But what they can do within those boundaries! They have charted a course through the heritage of the region, the Scandinavian taste for Akavit, and a flair for adventurous tastes and subtle flavors. And, every cocktail on the menu, has a story that goes with it! I can only speak to the two we ordered (this was a nightcap, not a bender) but they were clever, tasty, wholly unique in my experience, and not crazy expensive ($15 and $16). Apparently, a reported haunting and paranormal investigation led to the creation of "The Veil is Thin" described in the menu as a "Spicy Experimental Margarita." I am a lover of the things that come from the blessed Agave, so this is what I ordered. It arrives an the glass in the picture with a shot glass of fresh squeezed lime juice alongside. This is for the "magic trick" that takes place when you pour the lime into the glass. I won't spoil it for you, but it's not the dumbest trick I've ever seen, it works as a part of the experience. The ingredients are, now follow along in your hymnals children, house infused red cabbage tequila (!), Combier, fresh lime juice, Hell Fire bitters, dragon fruit garnish (not present in mine), black lava salt, white pepper and rose petal rim. It was spicy (especially in the aftertaste), sweet, with the heat of the white pepper and black salt on the rim. On top of that, it was a good Margarita to boot. It was an excellent cocktail and a nice, fresh take on a classic. The prohibition history of the area leads us to the Long Beach Iced Tea. With Vodka, Rum and sweet vermouth, you've got the basics, but then you elevate that with fresh lemon juice, house infused Earl Grey simple syrup, soda and then, of all things a garnish of fresh (bruised) thyme and it becomes something entirely different. You're not going to get hammered, which is what I expect from the Long Island version, but you are also not going to miss the aroma of the thyme making the drink that much better. The floral bergamot from the tea syrup takes you in a different direction and the fizz keeps the aroma flowing out of the glass. It's delicious, subtle, and worth repeating. They can accommodate larger parties by just expanding into the Broder Strand dining room, which is what happened when a boisterous group of celebrating women came in looking for a new stop on their bar tour. One of them even requested a custom drink and was, by all reports, delighted with the results. We have one more night, and I don't think we'll miss having another nightcap here. You should definitely check it out!

I have traveled across the nation and spent time in countless queer spaces from coast to coast, yet Xanadu stands in a league of its own. Imagine a world where the staff and the patrons exist in a state of authentic joy. There is no drama in sight. There are no pretenses. It is a place where people gather for the simple pleasure of a shared laugh and genuine connection. The atmosphere is vibrant and fun, but it is the people who truly make it shine.
