Hey guys! Time for a review for great quick style Mexican restaurant. This location has good food and great indoor and drive through service. I usually dig into a chile rellano burrito, which is made with fresh chile, stuffed with cheese and tasty tortillas. This size is huge with mild flavors and made right as you order it, hit and tasty. Hubby usually gets the cowboy nachos. Which even a half order can easily last someone for 2 meals. We also get flan, which is a generous serving with the some of the best caramel with a deep taste. Finally, I highly recommend not getting a soda, but grab a Sandia, which is made of fresh watermelon which always with quench thirst and is so refreshing on a hot summer day! If you go inside, make you hit the fresh salsa and pico bar to complement a quick and filling meal with some great flavor! read more

This was my first time here and I have to admit it was a nice surprise. The service was good and friendly and the place was clean also. The food was hit fresh and tasty as can be. The chimichanga was huge in the refried beans were creamy as can be..my apologies as I was talking to my girlfriend about how good it was and wanted to add some. I had been craving carne asada nachos for a few weeks. Most places have been disappointing. Decided to try them at Federico's... I was not disappointed! The Super Nachos live up to their name. Excellent & fast service. Quality not compromised by how quickly I received my order. Best carve asada nachos in have had. Pikes with meat creamy guacamole & beans. It's a large portion. Would easily make a meal for two people. I'll definitely be back to try more of their selections! read more

My go to fast food-ish Mexican food spot. I always get either the super nachos or fries. More than enough to feed one and some! Red and green salsas are a must. Staff is always so nice when I have questions about anything else on the menu. They do have menudo on the weekends, something that I've been meaning to come check out. Overall love this place when I'm hungry and need something to hit that craving of carne asada. read more

This place is a good choice for drive up Mexican food. This ain't Taco Bell or chipotle. They have their own style that is a welcome addition to the offerings in Albuquerque. The portions are always generous and the food is cooked to perfection. In ABQ overnight nearby, so we decided to try Federico's after reading some reviews. Glad we did! Friendly service. We had carne asada fries with guacamole, and 5 rolled tacos with cheese & guacamole. VERY good! And lots of food for us to share. Great spot near Manzano High, not in this area much so jumped on yelp to see what's around. Plenty of fast food - McDonald's, Wendy's, taco bell, etc but decided to try a less chain restaurant although I think this is still a chain? Drive through nice and easy, probably one of the smallest drive through windows I've ever seen used. Lady also had my credit card for a long period of time... Went for the carne asada burrito, it's huge, definitely two meals, reminds me of college. Guac, pico, and steak - what's not to like? The steak itself is a little on the chewy side, although not sure what you can expect from a place like this. Felt a little on the pricey side for what you get, but a little over $10 for a giant burrito isn't bad. Give it a try if you're in the area. read more

Chicken Taco Combo is My favorite. Other dishes iffy. Don't recommend ordering typically New Mexican dishes as this is a Mexican restaurant and New Mexican (e.g., Adovado) clearly isn't their specialty. read more

We happened across this place while traveling from OKC to PHX. Had a car issue and ate here while waiting for our tire to be fixed. Salsa is tasty, staff was super nice, offered lots of suggestions to help. In the end we got 20 rolled tacos and some chips and salsa. All very good. read more

Disclaimer: my wife and I moved to ABQ from SoCal so our standards are pretty high. This is a review when compared to ABQ Mexican food, not CA Mexican food. First of all, they had me at free chips. The salsa is pretty good, they have 4-5 salsas which we were down for. I got the asada burrito but customized it. It was okay, nothing that blew my socks off but overall, not bad. My wife customized a veggie burrito and she felt the same. We will come back for sure based on price, amount of food you get, chips and salsa, and the okay burritos. We live nearby so I eat here fairly often. The portions are enormous, and the value for money is good. The chips and salsa are delicious, and they also have pickled carrots, always a good sign. Almost everything I've had would be 5*, but a recent carne asada burrito had a little too much fat pooling in the bottom of the tortilla. Still, good food, fast service, and way, way more authentic and a far better value than the "fast food" options (/cough/Chipotle/cough/). read more

Bogus; inauthentic. I ordered a breakfast burrito, bacon, green. No chile was on my burrito. I'm baffled. There were two minuscule sides of red and green salsa in the bag. Totally insufficient. This is New Mexico. We do chile here, okay? Salsa doesn't cut it. At the very least, inform a customer that they can't have what they're asking for. I stop at Federico's at least once a week! I've only ordered the bean and cheese burrito and the rolled tacos with cheese and guacamole, but they keep me going back every week. I love the bean and cheese burrito because it's a pretty decent size and it's just a solid basic bean and cheese burrito. Nothing fancy and that's what I expect. It doesn't come with chile but I add their green sauce. The rolled tacos with cheese and guacamole are so delicious. Rolled tacos are pretty much just taquitos, but they are crunchy which is what I prefer! Nothing worse than a soggy taquito. Federico's is definitely generous with the cheese and guacamole, so I'm grateful for that! read more

decided to try this place out when I needed a quick lunch. I ordered mini carne asada tacos, they are reasonable. I think the meat can take on a little more seasoning. Didn't realize this place was a local chain. Wife and I got the bacon breakfast burrito. Bacon, egg, and cheese, and wow, it was all we could have wanted in a burrito. Breakfast burrito only review**** I have an eaten a lot of breakfast burritos in Albuquerque, I have to say my main complaint with FedeRico's burritos is at the potatoes are cut two large and they're not cooked soft enough. If you compare to Golden pride, where their's are soft and almost mushy which I happen to like, these potatoes are somewhat hard undercooked making the burritos just less fun to eat. I recommend they dice the potatoes smaller too & cook them longer and put less of them in. read more

My husband & I cannot get enough of the carne asada fries here. Extra guacamole, sour cream, & an order of horchata. Oh don't forget that green & red sauce! Perfect lunch or dinner if you ask me. We need this stuff at least once a week. Love that they're open 24 hours for those once in a blue moon late night snack after a night of drinking. Not the prettiest place to sit down. When I used to live in Las Vegas, NV, there was a local place similar to Federico's that I believe was directly responsible for at least 10 extra pounds and an easy inch on my waistline. Federico's is better! So, unfortunately they might eventually be responsible for 20 extra pounds and two inches on my waistline... bastards!! Well, that will be one of my many excuses anyway. Nevertheless, these guys rock! The Carne Asada Fries, wow! That adjective pretty much sums it up! Forget chili cheese fries, it's all about the Carne Asada Fries! A huge mound of fries topped with plenty of carne asada and cheese, top that off with extra sour cream & guac and you have cardiovascular disease in full ignorant bliss! Their tacos are nothing to sneeze at either. In fact, I had envisioned they'd be smaller little guys like you get from street vendors, Nope! Big, very big! So naturally ordering three was a mistake. Oh well, my lunch was taken care of the next day, so I'm not complaining. My wife ordered the fish tacos and expressed a great deal of satisfaction, so those are now on my list our next go around. My daughter had the little rolled taquitos and liked them, however, I ordered guacamole for her, and well... not cool Dad, not cool! Lesson learned. I frickin' love this place. I go at least once a week. They have excellent quality (and quantity!) food, are super friendly, and will do nearly anything you want to customize your meal for you. I remember one time, my wife and I went in and ordered our meals. While we were waiting, we were discussing the Federico's menu and then asked the staff what kind of fish they used in their fish tacos. I don't even remember their answer, but a few minutes later, the cook goes and brings us out a sample fish taco! Holy crap, it was awesome, and I'm not a huge fish taco fan. Since then, we have ordered the fish taco several times, even though its not my normal go-to order (that would be the combo #5 but with chicken instead of beef). This was a decent stop for a fast, cheap, and filling lunch. The plates and the a la carte items are large, so you won't walk away hungry. Additionally, they offer a complimentary salsa bar with two kinds of salsa, chips, spicy pickled carrots, and roasted jalapenos. Those were nice additions to add to your plate for a punch of flavor. This is almost a bare-bones place. The restroom is quiet old and almost falling apart (I would equate it to gas station quality). But the food is decent and a good deal. read more

I recently ordered food from here. The burritos all contained the wrong meat. It's like they decide for you what you receive regardless of your order. I also ordered the Horchata and my cup was full of ground rice and cinnamon bits. I never had to chew a drink this before. It was a shame because I've had really great food from here before.
