After seeing the reviews I understand why they are so low. Customer Service here is just horrible. I had a return that was a QR code "No box or label needed" I brought it in and the lady said with an attitude "what is that"? I told her and she said I can't ship it like that. I already knew that. Then the guy starts in and finally says I can grab something to put it in. I inform them that it says "no box or label is needed". The lady finally says let me scan the QR code. She then sees that basically something will be provided by them. Then its ok. But, maybe read the email or scan the QR code before you start to lecture me. Horrible customer service but can't do much about it since there are no other Fedex in the area. I'd prefer UPS 100% read more

I'm so disgusted with FedEx right now. I received a message earlier today 4/18 from a woman named Debra that they have my package and to call 858-552-0614. I called the # this afternoon and was prompted to enter an account # and pin which I don't have. There was no way to get connected to a human. So I drove to the Heater Ct location and spoke to the woman at the counter who told me "We don't have your package, you need to go to 9999 Olson Drive in the Miramar area. What she failed to tell me was that the Olson Drive location was already closed for the day. So I drove over to the Olson Dr location not knowing they were closed and was disgusted to see the hours on the front door. There just so happened to be a nice FedEx gentleman close by near his truck and I told him the story and he said the manager was inside the building, his car was right next to mine and to ring the doorbell and just wait a few minutes he's in the building. I stood there and rang the doorbell 3 more times and waited at least 10 minutes and he never came to the door. I will have to wait until Monday and drive across town again to pick up my package. It would be nice if FedEx employees could leave their location where they are calling from and their hours so customers don't have to drive all over San Diego chasing their packages. Needed to overnight a package to a friend who forgot something before flying to Nebraska. Fedex offered a 12:30 PM next day delivery or an 11AM for an extra $50. Selected the 11AM delivery, but the delivery was late. When I called support, the only thing I was told was money back guarantees are suspended for the month of December. This was not conveyed at the shipping center. Absolutely ridiculous. Will not ship with FedEx again. read more

This is the BEST hub for shipping and receiving live animals on either coast (and I've been to A LOT of FedEx Ship Centers). Every live animal shipment I have received over the past 7 years through the Heater Court location has been handed to me at room temperature, as opposed to too warm or cold, which is vital to maintain the health and safety of live animals during travel. Packages that I have shipped through this location are always handled with the utmost care and arrive safely at their destinations every time. I have NEVER received or sent out a DOA animal through this location. Furthermore, the women who work at this branch are so kind and caring, and always happy to share in my joy when I get a new family member in the mail, or when I send one of my precious babies off to their new family! I hate FedEx with a passion, at least in my area. I usually receive my packages from UPS and I've only had issues a few times. On the rare occasions that I receive packages from FedEx, about half or a third of the time, there are issues. The most common issue is when FedEx claims they attempted a delivery but I never hear the door knock. Furthermore, no door tag is ever left. Whoever is delivering in my area probably needs to be fired for being lazy and dishonest. Not knowing whether a delivery service will deliver a package or lose it--which also happens with FedEx--defeats the purpose of a delivery service itself. Absolutely terrible. Stick with UPS if you're in the UTC/La Jolla area. --- UPDATE: After arriving to pick up my package at this location, I complained to the manager. To make a long story short, the manager and an employee chuckled as they pulled up the name of the driver. They were not surprised and confirmed my suspicion: He did not make an effort to deliver my package. I don't know about you, but that is clearly immediate grounds for termination. I rarely use a shipping service, but recently I used Fedex shipping service. I had a package shipped, and clerk forgot to enter # apartment number, but the worst thing I called postal number and was given 1800 number to call. I called number and representative didn't speak English well, therefore we couldn't communicate. After A period of time representative stated you can return to drop off site, and add apt number there, and hung up. People don't use FedEx very poor customer service. I give customer service A 0. Instead of comparing FedEx Ship Center to, say, the post office or an independent shipping store that provides multiple shipping options (which is apples and oranges, in my opinion), I think it's better to compare this FedEx Ship Center to other FedEx Ship Centers. My home base is in the Bay Area, and I typically use the FedEx Ship Centers up there. By contrast, I found this location a bit less user friendly. I typically ship items to customers who are both domestic as well as international. I got the impression when I walked in that I wasn't exactly welcome. It's hard to pin down why, they just seemed annoyed that I had walked in. Or maybe they were exhausted, understaffed, and having a bad day? One can only speculate. With regard to the service itself, I never really had an issue before, but here they were insisting I had to provide a commercial invoice first. There wasn't an invoice because we got an online purchase order. After some discussion back and forth, the person helping me called in another gentleman who confirmed that indeed a commercial invoice wasn't needed, and that the system would generate one automatically. In general I didn't feel welcome there, and it was a bit off-putting. I'm used to a very professional and proficient attitude from FedEx Ship Centers so I was frankly just surprised more than anything. Apart from that, they do in fact offer all of the standard FedEx services, so if you're going to just drop off a package that has already been paid for / labeled / etc, I wouldn't hesitate to use this location as a simple drop point. read more

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to leave a review for overall Fedex deliveries in my area. With that said, FedEx sucks. They're the only shipping company that I have problems with which is what companies use FedEx when they want to save a few bucks. There have been so many times where I'll get notified via tracking that an attempt was delivered for signature required items. As I recall, I can think of at least 4 times of this happening this year alone. I take off work to accept these signature required deliveries or make it a point to be home until delivered. No door tags are ever left stating an attempt was made, I run out to see if I see a truck and nothing. Do they even really attempt to deliver? I call BS lazy couriers. Thanks to you, I'm going to have a little less fun at my Labor Day camping trip because of a missed delivery of my bike :( read more

I needed to ship the body of my dog to the east coast for burial. Paid FEDEX Priority Overnight early delivery (before 12pm) the amount of $764.04 for the service. It is 6:15 PM east coast time and pet has not been delivered to the destination. Its not only the fact that my pet has not arrived and the burial was not able to take place. The Ice packs have probably melted and the thought of my pet deteriorating is affecting me. I called customer service and not even an apology or a concern easy to blame Covid and weather when the weather is great and Covid as terrible as it is FedEx should have by now learned to resolve deliveries. read more

Eric the Distribution Manager I believe and Lynn who works behind the counter made my family's shipping experience one of a kind. To quote my 5 year old "the best day of my life". My son is a huge Fedex fan and have never been to a store to ship an item out. When we went we were instantly greeted by Lynn. When she heard he was a big fan she offered for us to go in the main shipping area to see the trucks. My son loves it and on our way back to the front counter we bumped into Eric the Distribution Manager. He heard my son was a huge Fedex fan and surprised him later with a Fedex tractor trailer toy. My son was so excites that he ran around the counter and hugged Eric thanking him over and over again. Everyone was very friendly and courteous. To have two strangers go out of their way to make a child's day so special was a moment I will never forget. Needless to say with employees like Lynn and Eric we are now Fedex customers for life. Fantastic hidden location that is extremely close and convenient to my house. The store itself when I went had some computer problems so that slowed things down, but the staff was friendly enough. The self-service computer there had an issue so that was an unfortunate waste of time, but luckily I was not in a rush. I walked in ahead of another patron and tried to use my account on the machine but I had some trouble so I got in line. Without giving the guy who was now ahead of me any lip, he received service and left. When I got to the counter her attitude had changed to all I can describe as a 'nasty' disposition. Why she couldn't just help me as she helped the other guy I really don't understand. I just came in to ship something, even tried to save her trouble, and she decided to be rude. After checking on fedex's website that my package i've been waiting for for a few days did not get delivered due to the address being wrong, I decided to go here to see if I could just pick up the package. I visited this place at about 3pm today and asked the elderly lady up front if she can help me locate my package. She asked for the tracking number, which I provided but she stopped me half way and told me I gave her to many numbers. I showed her my phone which had the tracking number and she stated that my package was ground shipping and that this facility only handles express packages and that I would need to go online to search for my package. I addressed to her that I had already done that and I was there asking for help to locate where the package was and if there was another facility I can go and check. The lady was extremely rude and kept insisting I check online. I was frustrated and told her that this is a fedex facility, I don't understand why she can't locate my package for me. She raised her voice and told me to stop arguing with her. I told her I was not trying to argue with her and that all I wanted was the physical address of where my package could be. She gave me the address and I told her that's what i've been trying to ask you for and she replied with "no you didn't". At that point I didn't want to waste my time or energy with some rude old lady who probably lives alone with a house full of cats who eats tv dinners every night after a long day of being rude to customers. After reading the reviews from other people about this place, it seems we are all talking about the same rude old lady. Stay away from this place unless you feel like getting your head bit off by some rude old lady who probably lost at bingo the night before. This experience totally reminded me of why the company I work for and myself stopped using fedex's service. Go to UPS! I have been here over the last couple of years at least weekly and usually I have been greeted by friendly staff. Today I was barked at by an older lady with a brown bob and red lipstick to the point where I was so stumped I didn't even stay to complain to the manager. She told me straight from the get go that the ground was already gone, no Hi nothing, which I did not care about since my shipments are not that urgent. I put a package down where she directs me and tell her I will be right back to get another one. When I get back I see her brining my package to the back but she did not put the new label over an old shipping label. I ask her if the old label does not have to be covered to prevent confusion and she yells at me that that is my responsibility and not hers. She was the one putting the label on, no one told her to do that. I even said I would be right back with my second box. I was so stumped I didn't even know what to say. She takes my second label out of my hand and barks at me that the driver has to leave. I didn't care if the driver has to leave, I want my boxes to be labeled correctly so they get to their destination at all. I was obliviously not in a rush as I had told her so from the get go. Awful experience. I am spending a couple of hundred dollars there every week and this was horrible service. The other staff is usually friendly but this lady ruined it. Considering using a different shipping service from now on. I hope a local FedEx manager reads these reviews since I apparently did not have the first run in with this lady who either needs a different job or is in urgent need of retraining. read more

Lady was very rude at the counter. I have a prepaid shipping label to ship my laptop to my corporate office - lady tells me if it's not already in a box with label attached I need to go to kinkos. This is called the "fedex ship center" and it trying to ship something through fedex- how am I in the wrong place and how about politely explaining something to me.
