Unfortunate experience for our family group of 12 tonight, that I hope was just a one-off. 10 of us ordered steak and 8 of them were so undercooked they had to be sent back. Of those 8, 3 had to be sent back a second time because they were still undercooked. When those 3 were returned, they remained undercooked. The picture attached to this review is one of those 3. This particular steak was ordered as medium. We also had one lobster tail that was very undercooked and could not be eaten. Our poor, sweet waitress did her best to make things right, but we later found that the cook (who was also the manager/owner?) was the issue. When we asked to speak to the manager about the food, that person indicated that she was the one cooking and that we didn't understand what medium or medium rare meant (I'm 30 lbs overweight and 46 years old...I know a properly cooked streak). She also claimed that we didn't send all those steaks back. No apology, no accountability, and we were accused of lying and being rude. Realizing that we were dealing with someone who wasn't operating in the same reality as we were, we paid our bill in full, tipped the poor waitress who was stuck serving undercooked meat repeatedly, and left. I hope this establishment can get these issues addressed. It's a great atmosphere, good drinks, good salad bar, but if your cook/manager/owner/gas lighter can't cook or ensure their patrons are taken care of when issues occur, then maybe it's time to make a change. I'd recommend bringing your own meat thermometer and/or a microwave in the meantime.

I love the coziness, the history, the bar, cocktails and a generous salad bar! The staff is all so friendly! Their onion strings for an appetizer is good, but the dinners/main courses can be hit or miss. The walleye the first visit was good, the veal I had the next time was OK.

What a quaint German Supper Club! We happened to be going past at an early lunch time and stopped. We were the only ones there but were served some great burgers and a beer with a smile! Great service from the bartender and chef! A sign posted open since 1969. That's a great indication of a good restaurant. Pictures attached show an awesome bar and retro German decor. Hope we can stop back some time!

Wisconsin has many Supper Clubs and connect people over food and strengthens the social fabric of a community. Feils is very well known and I wanted to try it. After riding my motorcycle forty miles to get there, it is a large faux German building surrounded by fields. We entered the door and was greeted by woodwork and a bar. I was blown away at all the gingerbread details. The hostess sat us a a table in the great hall. The menu is what you would expect. I ordered the Herb Steak with mushrooms and mashed potatoes. All dinners come with a salad bar. This one was quite expansive with leafy salads and different pasta salads and fixings. The steak and potatoes were substandard and not fun to eat. The service was attentive. Overall my impression is this restaurant is on its way out. Go to another Supper club.

We stopped by here for some delicious dinner and wow, we loved the fish fry and the chicken. The food is absolutely delicious and you get quite a bit of food for the price. We also got a soda drink and mashed potatoes that were excellent. It's a cool place in the middle of the farmlands and their food is delicious. We ate the fish fry the whole weekend and had a slew of fried chicken for our trip.

Awesome old school supper club. Skye was a wonderful waitress/bartender . $6 old fashion's are the best deal in WI. Really enjoyed traditional midwest 15' salad bar selection, great warm bread. Can't wait to return & try the traditional German menu. Fried onions are amazing, Herb's sirloin was cooked right (medium rare) but requires sharp knife and teeth Be careful of slow service/staffing issues.

Excellent domestic and German beer selection on tap at Feil's.

My wife and I traveled from Fort Atkinson for a date night at Feil's and the experience certainly didn't disappoint. We had reservations for 6:30, but arrived a little late due to traffic. Despite that, we still had a 10-minute wait as it was explained that the kitchen was working to catch up (which I appreciate the honesty of the hostess and the perfectly plausible explanation). We didn't mind as we expect to wait a little for a table to give us a little time at the bar to enjoy some cocktails -- I consider it part of the Supper Club experience. The special for the night was Schweinshaxe and, of course, the traditional Wisconsin Fish Fry. My wife ordered the Sauerbraten, which was prepared in a traditional Bavarian style. I had the Weinerschnitzel with Spaetzle and the veal was perfect and tender. Oh... and let's not forget the awesome 15-foot salad bar! My goodness! It's rare to find any restaurant these days that offers the fixings for a traditional spinach salad INCLUDING the bacon dressing! The selection of cold salads and relishes was also impressive. The service was fantastic! We loved our bartender and our waitress was sweet and courteous as well. The cozy atmosphere and the German decor made us feel right at home. Feil's is now on our list of establishments that is worth traveling to for a great traditional supper club experience with a Bavarian flavor!

Full disclosure, I have spent a bit of time in Germany and worked for a while in a German…read morerestaurant run by native Germans with a German cook, so my bar for German food is high. The positives: The pretzel with cheese was good, hot fresh and a tasty warm cheese and onion dip. I highly recommend this if you're just in for a beer with a friend. The chicken schnitzel was well breaded and fried. The spaetzle was decent, and buttery. The glazed red cabbage was sweet and seasoned sensibly. The beer list was respectable. Nobody at my table ordered the sausages, but I thought it was good that they were locally made. The atmosphere was classic, with a few American twists such as high top tables and televisions with sports. The negatives: no air conditioning, so a bit uncomfortable for summer dining. The Sauerbraten was kind of dry. I was surprised it was not served with gravy, because that's traditional, and because it would have masked some of its dryness. They hid the red cabbage under the meat, not sure why, it's not like you eat them together like shepherd's pie. My daughter ordered eintopf, described as a "hearty stew". It was not a hearty stew. It was a brothy soup, very over- seasoned with massive amounts of celery seed. There were three cherry-tomato sized dumplings that were also overseasoned, in the same manner, or had been marinated in the soup. There was about a quarter cup of diced onion and carrot in the broth. The whole thing was absolutely indelible. My daughter had also ordered potato pancakes, but we were not served potato pancakes, but instead a single greasy order of undercooked hash browns. I would have sent them both back, but our waitress only returned to give us the check, and by that time my wife and I had fed our daughter by sharing with her the items we'd ordered for ourselves. Though the broth and hash browns were barely touched the waitress did not ask how we'd liked our dinners. She was new, I could tell, because when ordering, I'd asked her for her opinion about the sauerbraten, and she said she didn't know because she was a vegetarian. Nothing wrong with being a vegetarian, but you can still learn about the meat dishes that you're serving in a...German restaurant. I think this establishment is new, and they're still working out the kinks. Maybe I'd return in a year or two to see how things have shaped up. Also, they did not bring bread to the table. Usually German restaurants bring hearty dark bread or rolls with butter. Two beers, one soft drink, one app, and dinner for three, $115 with tip.

The place looks and feels very homey, like a small restaurant would look like in Germany. Sure, if you are expecting a Pretzel with Beer Cheese dip (No true German would EVER!!!) it might not be the place for you.... BUT: The Schnitzels are nice and thin and breaded just right, exactly how they are SUPPOSED to be. The authentic German Curry Ketchup was SO GOOD, I will go back and buy a whole bottle! The home made Spaetzle with the Jaeger Sauce were AMAZING, and my friend had a Curry-Wurst, that looked exactly what it would look like in Berlin, Germany, eaten as street food (cut up into pieces, yes, that's how it is eaten in Germany!) We were waiting for the last dish to arrive and our server took it to the wrong table, collected it from the wrong table and tried serving it to us after it was touched by someone else! So, terrible service. To top it off the food just sucks. Tiny portions that are overpriced. Not authentic German, not even close. The schnitzel were absolutely tiny and paper thin, you could barely even notice it was meat. For $15 you get two puny schnitzels and a tiny bowl of potato salad.
