I'm kinda pissed Feldco and it's not getting resolved. We spent over $20,000 replacing every window in our home. That was 30% off Feldco's "retail" price (or so they told us) so we considered it a good deal. Well, the day after we signed the contract I got a flier in the mail advertising 40% off all Feldco windows. When I called about it, they promised me a credit for $1,000 on my next purchase. That was annoying, but unfortunately, just the start of the problems with Feldco. When the windows were finally installed, we didn't get the windows we paid for. And when we complained and asked Feldco to live up to the contract? They offered us a measly $300 to keep the wrong windows. Of course we said no, we want the right windows and now we're in some drawn out negotiation and we STILL don't have the stuff we paid for. They tried to offer us a few dollars off on doing our garage door but lo and behold, there is nothing "in their notes" about that $1,000 off our next project they promised us. Big surprise. I do not recommend Feldo. The one good thing I will say is the sales guy we used, Jack, is a nice person. I don't think any of this BS is personally his fault. But still, beware, Chicago. read more

Feldco is ran by a bunch of crooks. The installers only get paid 60 a window and so they feel the pressure to rush the job and the employees are treated poorly as well. We had 7 windows replaced 3 years ago and they all stink like mold. We have mold in our walks from the faulty window jams not draining water, due to the warping plastic jams. The crappy caulking job they did barely lasted a year which is also contributing to the mold. Then last year we ordered special air conditioner windows last year in which they installed haphazardly not to mention the wrong ones were ordered at first. It took them 3 months to come out with the correct sashes. Now we have a full large window pane that has a chamber leak and is forging up on the inside. We've been calling Feldco and Jim Haffer our contact for months with no call back. The entire job Feldco was awarded as a whole for our building was over a 100 windows and you would think they would support them at that size of a job. Buyer beware with this company as they are not out to serve just out to push product out the door and then leave the customer hanging. read more

We ordered a window and front entry door in June 2021 from Feldco, we then received an email on July 31, 2021 informing us that insulation would be on Monday August 2, 2021. So we took down all the curtains and blinds off the window to be prepared for installation yesterday morning but nobody ever came, we were told they would be at our house on August 2, 2021 between 12 and 2PM, nobody showed up. So my husband tried to call Feldco and had to leave a message and then I had to call two more times to leave a message to what happened. Not once did we get a call back. So I called customer service and apparently I called the wrong office but Katerina helped me out and she told me that someone reached out by text to us, my husband never received a text, but nobody every did yesterdays, we left three messages asking for someone to get back to us, not even this morning did I get a call back I had to call them again. Latonia is looking into this for us and told me that a manager would get in touch with me, but after reading these reviews I'm not sure I will get a message from the manager or will I get the product I paid for. So I can't even rate this company yet, I will have to sit back and see what happens, the reviews are so bad and I wish I would have looked at them before deciding to go with them. read more

Ok, I have to disagree with the majority on this one. My landlord just put new windows in our building. He used Feldco, obviously. We have 8 new windows. Everyone I dealt with was awesome. I was home when the installers came out and they were great, very professional, fast and cleaned up after themselves (which I appreciated). From what I understand they are also very affordable for replacement windows. One last thing, no more DRAFTS! read more

We replaced 10 original windows on our bungalow about 9 years ago. I realize 9 years is a long time but we have 37 other windows in our 100 years old home that work just fine. Two of the Feldco windows don't shut the crank out type, so we loose heat and air conditioning. One of the windows has a broken seal. We have called them out once while they were under warranty two others were fixed. In other words we have replaced 10 windows and in 9 years 5 have needed to be replaced. That's not saying much for Feldco. Feldco certainly has deals but for 49.00 for a house call and 85.00 per hour to fix your Feldco windows why don't they give me the windows for their $1.00 deal and keep a current customer happy. Hi, Nice guy, but not very helpful when it comes to saving the customers money. We got an estimate of $3,000 from another door installer in Alsip, IL on these three (3) doors.' Felco's estimate was $3,500 -- so where is the $1 installation fee as advertised? I then asked for a better price under $3K and he told us $2,995.00. $5???? Are you frigging kidding!! That is a slap in the face and an insult to my intelligence. I got up and walked away as that was ridiculous how I was treated. He had a book and I could not even see the door choices as it was upside-down and sideways and the designs were basically drawn on an IPad and even though he had a whole "doctor's bag" of choices,the door doctor was not in the house as I was not given many (any) choices. I wanted the cheapest and if that is the cheapest -- I'd hate to see what the more expensive doors are. This was an estimate for a front door and two screen doors. To say I was highly disappointed is an understatement. I feel I wasted MY VALUABLE time on this fiasco. All in all, a huge waste of time -- but NOT my money. Jees where do I start with these people? WORSE. EXPERIENCE. EVER. The smarmy sales guy comes to our house to look at an obviously rotted and unsealed glass bay window. The base of the window has obvious rot holes in it from water damage. This guy lays on the South Side "little lady" b.s. and treats me like it's 1952 and all I should be concerned about is window cleaner. Funny, I'm the one paying for it IN CASH. So the moron lays on his b.s. thick about how we can save money by piecing the window together. That's right, replace the glass only in an obviously rotted window base. It didn't seem right. But my husband kept saying that it was cheaper because this guy kept inflating the total replacement price to $10k. All we could spend was $3k. They wore me down and I wrote the $3k check. But as soon as the smarmy salesperson left I told my husband that I'm cancelling the check. Good thing I did. The more I learned the more I realized that this jerk was a complete idiot. A competitor could replace the entire window for $3k brand new--wood, glass, foundation. So I told my husband to tell the manager at Feldco that Roman Brush was a friggen moron and smarmy salesman. I would not recommend. Windows have rough sonic welds that you can feel/see on inside. We have had to call multiple times about things not working and only get someone to come to the house when we are asked to do reviews from their customer service team. It is a joke. We purchased windows and garage doors. Already had to replace a window due to hardware not lining up. Then had to have a tech come out because on windy days my drapes would move! His fix was to put a piece of styrofoam under each sill where the water drains out. Yesterday my daughter finally told us her windows are uneven. I went down to see what she meant. She has 3 windows in her room. 2 of them have a gap so big when the window is shut you can see daylight between the top of the sash and the window frame. She never realized it before because this was the first time she had opened them. On this inside track there is actually a piece of wadded up plastic that the sash was set on top of to make it line up. So aside from this being incredible unprofessional, we have to actually LIFT UP the sash to close the window. And course this leaves a gap under the sill and still lets in cold air. It seems like the sash is too small for the frame. I am just beyond words about this. I have sent them a message this morning about this. I am so over this company. We spent around 15,000 and i would give about anything to have them take this product out of my house and find a better company to deal with! The garage doors come with NO HARDWARE. FYI to anyone purchasing them, it was a shock to realize there was nothing to grab a hold of to open and shut the doors. read more

We had a salesman come over and spend well over two hours. I asked him to please email me over a bid the following morning. He never did. When I repeatedly asked him to send us a quote this was his response: Mike, Your right I was very eager to earn your business while I was in your home, however after speaking with my manager if you would like a price then I need to come back out to your place to price it out and apply all the discounts for you so that way you can make a decision at that time. If that does not work for you then you are more than welcome to come into the showroom and meet with me at a specific time so that way I can price it out for you. My wife and I recently got the front bay window replaced. Everyone we dealt with was very courteous and professional. From customer service, to the sales rep, the installing team and the inspector; we had a good experience altogether. The quality of the windows is a reason I chose to call on Feldco again. I have to say, that this is my second time purchasing windows from them. The first time I replaced twenty-five windows or so on a property in the city. That investment has cut down on energy costs year round. I would definitely recommend and call on Feldco again for future repairs! read more

Marty Smith made the initial contact and did a great job walking me through the process for my new front door. We talked in length about the design and style and without hesitation, I made my decision for installation; a few days later I decided to add a kick plate, called Marty "no problem". First let me say, I am in the market to replace the upstairs and maybe some downstairs windows in our home and contacted Feldco because my neighbor said he had his windows replaced by Feldco. I was looking for a quality installer because our house was built in 1903 and the widows are huge in width and length and since my neighbor suggested - I thought I'd give Feldco a shot. When I called Feldco the person who answered the phone seemed quite snobby, but I said to myself lets continue. So I spoke with the young lady and provided my information to her - including my wife's name (which I thought was odd). So we are getting ready to set the appointment and the young lady states that Feldco requires any home meeting to have husband and wife present or they will not provide an estimate. Now I do not feel the need to explain why my wife cannot be at a meeting to a contractor I may or may not hire for a job - so I politely told the snobby lady on the phone - thank you, but I will not be using Feldco. We had new windows put into our house and Feldco was professional from beginning to end. From the ordering to the actual labor. It was well over 90 degrees the day Feldo came to put he windows in. I felt bad for them, but they did the job beautifully! The village I live in sends out a village inspector during the installation of the windows and after the installation of the windows. The "warranty" is good for nothing. They will do anything to get out of it. The main reason we went with Feldo in the 1st place was the warranty. The salesman will say ANYTHING to get the sale - Be very skeptical! The customer service is TERRIBLE! I am told something different each time I call. We just had windows installed by Feldco. I am a mulitple time returning customer of Feldco and always seem to fall for their price and the promises of the salesperson Jack - then we get burned on the back end at installation time. The first time the work was excellent and Jack was true to his word on the agreements he made at the time of contract signing. The second time (was my aunt's house) and the follow through was not what was promised. So when I needed additional windows at my house - I went with Pella as I didn't want to deal with the feldco hassle of promising one thing and delivering something else. (Pella was quite pricey,by the way, but the service was EXCELLENT). Next, my parents needed new windows and as they are on a tight budget, we invited Jack out again. He used some major heavy handed tactics to get my parents to sign (i.e this discount is only available if you sign today) and my parents gave in. However, my parents did negotiate some add ons, that made it worth it, in their eyes. This time however, Feldco did not follow through on ANY of the promises/assurances at signing. I am very disappointed and WILL NEVER RECOMMEND FELDCO/JACK again. You know what they say, "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice...." Regardless of the perceived quality/cost - the heavy handed tactics, the promising of the world to get you to sign, and then totally LYING about conversations taking place will cause me to never recommend Feldo again. They use they very slimy sales method of the salesperson agreeing to everything and then the installation team saying they can't follow through. F/U - I had a conciliatory conversation with Jack who said that he would follow up with his team and try to rectify everything. Let's see what happens and I may change my rating. Their F rating with the Better Business Bureau should have warned me that Feldco would provide me with the Absolutely worst buying experience of my life. Very poor quality installation. Does not do lead paint setup if they make you pay for it - cost me 1200 extra. Over a year and many attempts to fix and never remedy problems. Polite on the phone, but don't follow through. Blame manufacturer for product defects and installers for bad installation accept no responsibility since they contract out everything. Rude in person. Actually had one of the many installers who came to my house tell a delivery person from Lowe's that they know me and stole my delivery. Police report was filed. Seemingly impossible to get sales team to call you back after they have your money. I have one window that I had to pay extra for frame replacement I'm hoping on the third try they actually remove the old frame like I paid for... picture window took 5 tries, fourth attempt it was upside down and overheard management calling me OCD because I did not want it left in with the drain holes and load bearing side on top instead of bottom. Still not a great job but after 5 times I'll leave it because who knows how horrible it will be the 6th time. Nothing done as sold - specific style was supposed to be achieved, they say salesman sold you something we can't do, but offer no compensation. Could go on and on seemingly never ending. Have another appointment to get the major major problems fixed then I guess I will be living with the decent windows with crap installation not done how I ordered them. Oh and don't expect them to clean up windows left dirty tons of dust left behind and garbage in yard on every visit. Broken glass left in driveway and house on more than one visit. ... again even though I paid for lead paint precautions. Also had 3 new replacement windows replaced so everything matched (16 windows ordered) which they said they would leave behind so I could install them in a fort for the kids. They took them though. They were brand new and worth over $1000. Company literally told me when I mentioned it almost a year into the never ending install process that it was in the past, and they don't want to hear me bring it up. DO NOT USE THEIR FINANCING! It's an outside company, extremely shady and the salesman tell does not match but the financing company does. Service was ok and the product is good but pay cash or with another option no matter how good they try to say financing is. It's through SUNTRUST/GS, it is NOT a credit card. It is a loan. If you're approved for $1,000 the company will add interest and report to the credit agencies that you owe more than your credit limit so your credit report and statements they send you will say $1,100. Even though the salesman tells you it's interest free if paid during the promo period. My very first statement had interest added and my balance was over my limit when reported to the agency. The financing company does nothing to help. Even after paying the entire balance in full after the first statement and disputing with the credit agencies the financing company still refused to report the account balance as zero and closed. They claim they may do it next month. No windows are worth the trouble. Several other established companies are out there for windows, I will be using another company for my remaining windows and my second homes windows. read more

Listen up shoppers, because I have the scoop. I own an entire home of Feldco Sophia windows. (21) They leak, and they don't fit or guide well. They are a mistake. You absolutely can get similar quality for less. My installers rushed through the process so quickly, that by the time I noticed the multitude of mistakes, they had damaged or destroyed the casement along half of my windows. This was after I specifically asked them to only perform an install from the outside in. They did the opposite, and I had to call their office to get the work stopped. Months later, along with numerous arguments, they agreed to replace the casement damage with replacements that would be unfinished. I was two months into not being satisfied, and I still had a giant amount of refinishing to do on my time and with my money. Let's talk warranty. Feldco warranties you from spending any more money on their windows for a lifetime. BUT...after five years you will pay both a service call fee as well as all labor charges. That boils down to me having to pay $135 for the replacement of glass in one half of a double pane window. Really though, I just paid for the window all over again. I've left a metric ton of frustration out, but be warned. This company is not professional or ethical. Run. read more

Measured bay window incorrectly by 7 inches and broke one bedroom window at initial installation so it took three months to get all of our windows imstalled. We purchased the windows in early november in order to avoid over paying for heating bills but ended up paying the high bills anyways since the windows were not finished until middle of february. The salesmen also never told us we would have to paint the woodwork of the bay window, so now we have another expense and time consuming project we were not at all expecting. Feldco refused to lower the price even though they were at fault for all of our unexpected added expenses. read more

I had several windows replaced in 2007, now the hardware in the double-hung tracks is breaking and they want to charge $49 to come out + $85 an hour for the service on their defective parts. Horrible service! We have had several of our windows replaced by Feldco and have had in going issues with them. When I call I have to leave a message and they rarely get back to me. They have made appointments to come out and measure or repair windows and cancelled the day of the appointment. Twice now I have ordered large balcony doors and the day of the install they show up and say the can not install because they don't have the proper equipment to get the windows in our home. It is not a surprise we live on the 4th floor of our building, they have been to our home several times. When I call it is almost impossible to speak to a manager, and they don't call back. I have spent over $15,000 and still can't get one window repaired (it's even under warranty) and am still waiting for my balcony windows to be installed. Extremely disappointing that a company doesn't stick to their warranty & repair policy or care to communicate with their customers. Project consisted of installing a window and three doors: one entry door and two storm doors. I had a very specific budget in mind and the initial estimate was well over that budget. The salesman was very patient and accommodating, not once using pressure tactics. The measurements guy was very quick and professional. Installation was professional and very fast, workers did a great job of showing me the work and cleaning up after themselves. I called for an estimate for my brother's house, which I am currently renting from him. My brother lives in a different state. I was the one who was going to pay for such services. However, customer service said he will have to be present for for the estimate. I just think it's a little ridiculous to require him to fly over several states, just for a simple quote. We decided to order a sliding glass door through Feldco. They were having a free installation sale and we thought the price and quality were great. The men that showed up to install the door were very clean, showed up right on time, and were very friendly. Feldco is terrible in honoring their lifetime written warranty. The window weep hole covers, a very cheap plastic part, has been coming out of our windows over time (there are 2 per window and we have 15 windows). The written warranty states that parts are covered "at no cost" to the customer as long as you live in the home. They want to charge $10 to ship the parts. They finally agreed to ship the parts, but that was 5 weeks ago and I'm still waiting. Just a lie to get me off the phone. I thought they would be reputable as Doug Cook, CEO is a fellow Kellogg grad. I spent $1000s and they can't honor a $10 warranty item. read more
