Felix was very helpful, he very quickly rekeyed our smart lock and made duplicates of our key for $10 in a few minutes. He told us exactly what we needed and was professional. I would recommend if you are in the area but he does close from 12-2 I think most days. read more

Never had a problem with any of the work done at Felix Lock Service. Dave will take care of you carrying on with his grandfather Felix's locksmith legacy. Dave does an excellent job at resetting door locks, deadbolts, padlocks, and key copies. If a key copy doesn't work I just bring it back for readjustment and bingo! The hours I believe are: 8am to 12pm and 2pm to 5pm, and not 24-7 as stated. read more

I've been going to Felix for over 20 years. Never had an issue. Call before going in just to make sure he's open.

No posted hours (on Yelp or at their store), no one answers the phone when called, and they are often closed when I go by at normal working hours. 3 stars still because the one time I did manage to find them open, they were quick and inexpensive. read more

David is third generation owner who has the same passion about the business as his father Edward who was a true master locksmith and always welcomed you with smile. If you walked in the store at any time of the day, he used to drop everything and helped right away and which is even true today with David who has the same pride and enthusiasm as his dad. Amazing, a business of locks and keys which was started with David's grandfather Felix Hartung in 1916 still remains all times favorite of mine and many others Chicagoans in the uptown Chicago. I have gotten keys made here in the past and they have always done a great job. Problem lately is i have shown up twice this week only to find a sign taped to the door saying that they will be back at 2. If you are taking a 1 1/2 hour lunch break each day, fine, but then state your hours on your door and let us know when you are there. read more

Whenever I need a key cut, I bring my business here. Service is always quick and friendly, and for me, I get the convenience of not having to walk more than a block to get the job done. You may want to call before heading over here because it is not uncommon for the shop to be locked up with a note that reads something like "be back at 2." Also, they do not do out-calls, so you actually need to bring in whatever you want serviced. read more

I really don't know how this has so many good reviews. Back when I moved into my current apartment, I needed my keys copied so I went here. As I walked back home I was dismayed to find that neither of the keys I copied worked on the doors. He apparently used the wrong style of key. I just had it copied at crafty beaver to avoid going to Felix again. He was very quick with his work though. read more

I work for a great General Contractor who relies on David from Felix Locks. I like to use the same small businesses also and contribute to the local economy. But JR (my boss) said something so nice today that I had to Yelp about it. Regarding David, the owner of Felix Locks, "He can master a lock in 3 minutes. He can do 24 apartment locks in an hour and a half, not like these other so-called locksmiths." So whether you need an extra set of keys for your condo, or are a GC that needs lots of locks made, Felix Locks is your place. P.S. I think it's cash only. read more

Excellent service. He definitely is a lot inexpensive and cheaper then Clark/Devon hardware. He made new keys and keyed deadbolt locks for an apartment unit. Definitely he is a good locksmith. I would say he is very competitive with pricing. His service is professional and quick. read more

This business is not 24/7. Also, I had keys copied here for the apartment I just moved into and the keys did not work. I ended up having to go somewhere else to have them re-copied. Although the cost of copying keys was very low ($2 for 2 keys) and service was very fast, I am sad that I can't give a better review. read more

Small shop - I don't even think there's a sign out front, so you'd probably never notice it unless you were specifically looking for it. Fast service, EXCELLENT prices. Yeah, the guy seems a little quiet, but who cares? I needed a key cut, not a BFF. read more

Felix's is the best. I've used them for 20 years. I'll drive across town to have keys cut. They are cash only, they close at lunch. The keys they cut work great. Their prices are very inexpensive. One house key cost me $1, compared to $2-4 every place else. read more

The owner make good keys, but every time i did come i feelt like they don't appreciate my business, the owner is not really friendly at the list, so i found another locksmith on Lincoln ave by Foster. Perfect keys every time and the owners are nice. read more

We needed to have a few set of keys copied for a rental apartment. I normally go to Home Depot to get it done, but was feeling tired and didn't feel like driving out of my way to get this done. Searched yelp for a place near Wrigleyville and Felix came up. I've driven by several times in the past but never thought much of it. Glad I decided to give it a try. Quick and friendly service.
