Right on the strip of little stores, I stumbled across this small pet store! The staff were super kind and welcoming. They even offered a treat to my dog, which was a kind gesture. Very small town vibes, but still very good. The variety here is very interesting, as they also sell things for farm animals like chicken feed etc. It was also very cool to see educational posters all across the back of the store, showing customers what to get/feed/how to care for their farm animals or local wildlife. read more

Stopped by here randomly the other day after an afternoon hiking Henry Cowell, and was so happy I did! My sis and I loved the variety of dog treats available here. Plus service was super friendly, everyone was eager to help. I asked if they sold pill pockets too, since I was about to run out, and they did. They were up on a top shelf, and the sales woman helped me get some down. For treats though, they've got all the best treats that my Lilo loves for a much better price than I pay in Santa Cruz. They have duck necks by the pack, chicken and duck hearts by the pack, lamb ears, lamb jerky things, and so many other interesting treats. I even got a free treat off the counter for Lilo. A very dog friendly place. Will say that my sis wished there were more cat treats available in the cat section, but this is def a dog's paradise. Will def be back again and again! Plus can stop by all the other cute shops in Felton too! read more

I dont normally like to leave bad reviews, but my experiences the last two times i was in to buy treats for my cat were less than satisfactory. Most recently I walked into a confrontation with the manager and an employee. Not so much a confrontation actually as the manager yelling at this poor lady. Really yelling, i mean just brutal, and out in the store for anyone to hear- as i did walking in on them. Made me feel incredibly uncomfortable, and apparently i wasnt the only one, as another customer in there turned around and just left. Prior visit, SAME LADY, now a potty mouth, yelling f**k loudly, several times, loud enough to hear it throughout the store. Really rude and uncalled for. I dont want to stop shopping here, but from now on i will leave if i see this lady there. read more

Amazing variety of pet food/treats that you can't find at big box stores. They carefully select their products and only sell stuff that is healthy for your pet. I love their philosophy on selecting brands they carry. I really love that they sell Green Tripe and always have good stock. I used to buy my raw dog food here (Tuckers) before I started making my own. The employees are the friendliest people ever. I really appreciate the helpfulness of all their staff. read more

I've been shopping here for years. Some things are consistent from the previous owners to the new owners... they are all very kind people and care a lot about pets and their customers. This shows in so many little ways like the presence of the mellow shop dog who is usually being adorable by the front counter, the nice people who work here that are genuinely caring, the discount they give with 8+ cans of dog food, and the thoughtfulness of asking if you need help carrying your 40 lb. bag of cat litter to your car rain or shine. To the grumpy mountain hermit who left the review on pricing... quality products typically do not stay a static cost. Things change buddy. I appreciate competitive pricing also, but I feel this company is doing their best and keeping things fairly priced. We are lucky to have this store here in Felton. read more

I am a firm believer in empowering women and in women owned businesses, it's also a philosophy that's aligned with my life's work. But with that empowerment comes with it a responsibility, to set a good example. This is where Felton feed fails. The owner acts childishly, horrendously, irresponsibly. The first time I spoke with her she didn't even answer my question, loudly spoke over me, went off on a tangent that was demeaning to me personally and also wasteful of my time. Another time I witnessed her berating an employee, pompously scolding, accusing her of privilege. So absorbed in talking down to this poor high schooler that she didn't even know I was there so, very uncomfortably, I left. The next visit I was in a line of about 8 people and while one owner was visibly sweating trying to handle the register, all the customers and their questions, the pompous woman walked through the store yelling, flippant, ignored the customers completely and, still yelling, exited the rear of the store. I felt like I was watching a child have a tantrum. Most recently I came in to buy my supplies and this owner didn't even seem to be wearing a shirt. Wholly inappropriate for any business much less one where my grandson sometimes is with me. And there is more, sadly, but I will not belabor the point of this owners callousness and disregard. I used to enjoy this store, its small town quaintness, uniqueness. But not anymore. I have taken the power of my shopping dollar elsewhere while hoping my words here encourage growth and enlightenment. read more

I have a very ansi cat and she doesn't quite know how to control her claws and she scratches up everything in the house. One of the Felton feed owners showed me this product called Sentry Stop That! For cats and honestly it's the only thing I have tried that has actually worked!!! She also recommended these calming treats that are all natural and sure enough those worked too!!!! I sent the ingredients list to my sister, a self proclaimed hardcore cat lady, and she wants me to send her some because they have nothing like these treats for her cats in New York!!! This is the only place we buy our cat food in the county. It is locally owned by a wonderful couple. They always make you feel at home when you go inside. I love supporting local mom and pop shops, especially when the owners take the time to help and support you back! I came in with my fiancé to investigate the possible change of kitty litters. A nice woman (the owner) took the time to listen to my crazy cat stories and then share her vast knowledge of litters! We chose a wheat based one, and are quite happy. The icing on the cake is that while checking out, she gave my kitty a toy as a gift...not just my ole toy, a jingle ball with real rabbit fur dangles! Oh what a wonderful find! I just moved into SLV and desperately needed a down coat for my Boxer. It's hard to find just the right fit for him. Val and John were instantly welcoming, invited my dogs into the store (although I left all 180 lbs of them in the car) and even offered to let me take a few coats out to the car to try them on. I saw one that I knew by the look and the size chart that it would fit but Val reminded me to leave the tags on until I was sure so I could bring it back if needed. HOW NICE! This is a wonderful pet store, the owners are so kind and knowledgeable, and the prices are great. I went to several vets trying to figure out how to help my itchy, anxious cat. I was prescribed many medications, but when I came here they suggested I simply try grain free food. I'm so thankful for that, the change in food brought my cat back to her regular, healthy, non-itchy self. I don't shop at any other pet store! read more

This is a top-notch establishment. Valerie and John are attentive and knowledgeable, but when you just want to get in and get out, they are cool with that too. They will not try to sell you anything you don't need or want. They have a great selection of high quality food and goods for all of your creatures (dogs, cats, chickens, pigs, etc) and if they don't carry what you're looking for, they will special order for you. Once, when they were out of my usual dog food, Valerie gave me enough sample bags to tide me over until the next shipment arrived! And they are of course and above all else true animal lovers.
