Years have passed and I am writing this review because I was so hurt after visiting this store for the first time. I would have never stepped foot in this store if I had known what was in store for me. I was a rising and upcoming designer. My designs were so different that I was noticed by a New York police officer that approached me and asked me where did I get my coat and handbag. I told him that I was the designer. He then asked me if I would be attending Fashion Week. I told him that I hadn't even heard of such. He literally walked me and a friend of mine to where it would be held. He told me if I would get back to New York during that time, he would let me be his guest. I was able to return and he kept his word. I was able to attend that event. While in New York I got to do some shopping. I visited a few of the high end department stores, one being FENDI. When I walked in the store with my friend in one of my original designs, the store got silent. It was almost like people were spellbound. After a few minutes, people began to tell me how beautiful my attire was. I was truly honored to receive such attention in this big city being that I am a little country girl. I really enjoyed my stay in New York. Months later I received a telephone call from a friend, asking me if I sold my design to FENDI when I went to New York. My response was, no, why do you ask? They said they saw my design in the ELITE traveler magazine, the July/August 2007 edition page 62. I immediately went and bought the magazine and when I opened it to the page, I was in shock. They added their name to the bag. I did seek an attorney with my copyright papers. The attorney agreed that they had definitely taken my design. He told me it would be very costly to go after this company so therefore I was left with not only a broken heart but a broken dream. My handbags were created by hand and not a machine. Art wear! They were being made to help underprivileged children. I was just trying to aid those less fortunate than myself. I just want the person who took it upon themselves to steal from me know, that in life we may think we are getting away with things that are not right to do but one day we will all be held accountable for our actions. God sees and knows everything. I know that you may have been spellbound when you saw my design and you thought to yourself, I'll recreate this and call it VOODOO. It's been 19 years and maybe more, I just want you to publicly know that I forgive you and I never thought a prestige company would do something like this. I was taught do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I know for a fact, you don't want anyone to steal from you, that's why you have security guards and security cameras. Or is it so you can roll the camera back and take pictures of designs that you've never seen before? I really hate the day I stepped foot across your threshold. I pray that those who read this review to the end will never spend another dime with your company. If they do, their no better than this company! read more

As a fendi customer for very long terms, it's pretty disappointed. She kept saying "bye bye" /"ok bye bye...." Huh? We won't come back to her anymore. In a nutshell: Fendi's New York flagship is an elegant affair for the busy impatient entrepreneur and bored housewives across America. THE GOOD The recently remodeled (Haven't been here in years) boutique has a beautiful greyscale tone and distribution of space that allows you to admire clothing and accessories with the detail that is expected when scanning merchandise up and down with your eyes. Once you are greeted, the sales staff allows you time without hovering over you or being pushy like.... Let's say... a boutique located at a mall Yes, I am talking to you Hudson Yard's location! THE BAD There are no complains except the location, that is, if you are coming from a different part of Manhattan I'm just grasping at straws here. Oh yes! No champagne glasses anymore!!! I remember when I used to shop at boutiques, not just browsing like there is an intention to shop, where you are offer libations while you wait for you shoe size or simply while you are there. This is not strict to Fendi, but in general boutiques do not enhance the experience like they used to. You can purchase anything online, the point of going to a boutique is to have an elevated experience, otherwise is no better than any other retailer. THE BEST Else was amazing, very knowledgeable about the merchandise, the design and very gracious about my clumsiness. The standard of excellence, I recommend her wholeheartedly, particularly when you are an entrepreneur with a limited timeframe. Maybe is her British/Austrian/South African accent that makes you feel that you are in good hands; If there is merchandise not available at that location she can get it from you and that excellence in customer service is what you got to about for. The sneakers are very comfortable although you must make sure the fit correctly, otherwise your heels will suffer. In other words, make sure the fit is perfect before leaving the store because the elastic cords are tricky to get right. I have a Fendi ceramic watch. the band clasp is broken. I have emailed Fendi.com, I have filled out the contact us form, and I have called the number listed several times. they keep telling me that they send the info out to the NY store and that the store will call me. it's been 2 1/2 weeks and no one has called or responded to any of my contacts. Fendi customer service is horrible. the drones they have working the phone don't give a damn about my problem and they can only say...oh they will call....give it time. won't be spending any more money with this company ever again. I came on Sunday to buy a boots. I tried 7.5 and 8. size. 7.5 is my size but those boots were very tight. A sell-man suggested me to get 7.5 bc I could exchange in 14 days if they are not comfortable. I wore them the whole day in the house on Monday and I got the blisters. I came in the store on Tuesday at 3pm and a manager told me that I can't get 8 size cause I wore them and he can't sell them. Anyway, was there during the 1st NYFWM "since the 90's I guess?", this store is next doors to the rest of the gang "Dior, Laurent, Chanel, Miu Miu.." on 57th, a classic Fendi, nothing special to the store but doesn't mean it isn't nice, 2 floors all dedicated to women's! Huge selection, very friendly, smiley, helpful and attentive staff. Relaxed atmosphere, spacious and open space with all clothes, accessories, shoes and stuff. This is exclusively women's, everything men's is at the Soho store. Staff would go extra miles to help out in anyway possible, one sweet Chinese young lady and the other Nadira who even showed me some pictures on her personal mobile phone as I didn't have time to go back to Soho this time. Fendi designs are definitely not boring. How could they be with Karl Lagerfeld working his magic? I own a lot of Fendi clothing and accessories and have been very happy with them. The fur jacket, the big round pearls as trim, the toile dress - divine! I really really love their accessories, especially the more colorful, crazy-ass items that require a willingness to be flamboyant enough to carry them off. Now they've got these special purse straps they're selling to attach to their bags and I just want to buy a big bunch of them - they're so crazy-funky-nutty - but I need to restrain myself. They're great, you can remove them and add them to any bag you own. I've also fallen in love with their bag charms made to look like monsters, trimmed in mink. Great gift idea! I sometimes pop into the Fendi boutique at Bloomingdale's, but seem to find myself at the Madison Avenue store every time I come down to the city. The service here is great. I highly recommend Fendi. read more
