If you're reading this review, please be confident that I consider myself a self-proclaimed boba snob and local business positive experience chaser haha I try to go to locally owned franchised boba shops in a 15-mile radius of this location but I come back here often! The closest one to Feng Cha Laguna Niguel is Omomo AV. Quick opinion about Omomo AV: I think Omomo AV is very overrated and only wishes it can have the reputation of Omomo Irvine. The lines are long, the boba quality isn't even that good, and the shop doesn't seem that clean. Now, let's cut to this review for Feng Cha Laguna Niguel: Two praises I'd like to note: The consistently great boba and aloe vera quality, a cutely decorated shop with games to play, and a new "kid" named James! I've been coming to this location for 3+ years now, getting my all-time favorite Mango Fantasy at 50% (sometimes 75%), with aloe vera for less calories, or boba to help after a bad day at work hahaha Anyway, the owner is often there even though he's also a realtor. He recently hired James, as well as many other kids throughout the summer. I have observed James "in-action" with some of the other kids and this kid has been raised well based on his work ethic and attitude...friendliness and care in the drinks he makes. I was there yesterday and the owner was not there. My point? James was enjoying his shift, made my drink perfectly again, and had a great music playlist playing! Go to Feng Cha LN and support this business for many reasons listed above and then some! Way to go, James and Feng Cha LN! They have a great variety of Teas and Boba is an option if you want it. They also offer a few varieties of coffees. The Thai Tea is fantastic! Welcoming a new kid on the block! We're still on the search for our go-to boba in South OC. Anyone living here would know it can be a challenge! While I envy their interior decor, husband was not a fan of their milk tea flavor, but I personally feel they excel in their fruit drinks. We came through after a heavy lunch and needed a refreshment to keep us company while we went grocery shopping. We stopped in around noon to a quiet shop, but the workers gave us plenty of time to soak in the menu and ask any questions. Black Milk Tea and Boba Milk Tea are the same drink with the exception of the added topping. Hubby chose Boba Milk Tea, while I chose the Mango Fantasy. Been on a mango kick recently and I thought it was interesting to be paired with pomelo and sago. Dessert and drink in one! Hubby wasn't a fan of the milk tea flavor. It had a weird aftertaste, but the boba did have a good texture. My mango was pretty tasty and I felt they were pretty generous with the toppings that you wouldn't need anything additional. There was quite a lot of grapefruit pulp and sago bits. If I'm in the mood for something fruity and in the general area, I'll likely return to try something new. read more

Got the mango fantasy again to make sure the first time I went was just a fluke and it still was not good. Tasted so bland and it seems like they used mango juice. Decided to go here since the Omomo wasn't open. We got the crème brûlée milk tea and that tasted like sweet milk. I got the sparkling watermelon drink with 70% but it was still super sweet! Sad to say I can't see myself coming back here ever again. Ordered matcha breeze for my birthday a month ago and we ordered pickup on the app, and when I got there it wasn't even ready. Anyways for the matcha breeze, the guy made it but it wasn't done well and I had to go to a different matcha in the area to get my fix. When I got there and said my name to pickup the order, he had a bad attitude maybe he was having a bad day or something, but it's a memory I won't forget, like he was doing me a favor for making the drink I ordered. I am a big fan of Feng Cha and I was excited about this new location in Laguna Niguel. I heard about their grand opening but the line was super long for their BOGO deal. We decided to skip it the first weekend they were open and just went yesterday. First of all, no line was a plus compared to the previous week. Being a fan, I use their app for rewards and did so on this recent visit. I ordered the iced ginger milk tea ($6), which is my favorite drink here. I ask for less ice and the cashier asked me if I wanted to tweak the sweetness. I'm trying to cut back on sugar and I am always told that the ginger milk tea sweetness cannot be adjusted at the other locations (Costa Mesa, Houston, Buena Park), but apparently she said she could make it half sweet. So I took her up on that offer. Boy, did I instantly regret that choice. There's a huge reason that the ginger milk tea is not adjusted, it tastes just terrible. They use ginger sugar in it, not syrup so it has a very distinct flavor. Well the half sweet version was lacking in the ginger punch I usually enjoy. I had already left the store at that point so I finished my sad not-so-good ginger milk tea at home. Next time, I'll order it with regular sweet so I'm not disappointed. read more

I recently discovered Feng Cha when I was craving a tasty treat - and they did not disappoint! So far I've had the blended Matcha and cookies and cream - both 10/10. My husband has tried a few fruit drinks and their coffee milk tea and LOVES them. I recently also tried their cute little cakes and they were so delicious ! Came out to the grand opening event. I am excited to have a boba shop near home. We had gotten a few drinks to try out. The Mango Fantasy was a tasty mango sago drink. Classic boba milk tea had good flavor and boba was just right - QQ consistency. The new staff was helpful when I ordered the drinks reminded me that my Mango Fantasy already has sago and didn't need to add boba. We were also able to adjust the sweetness and ice level. Got to try this boba because my SIL picked up a few for us to try so can't say anything about the service or the shop itself. We tried the dirty boba, milk tea and taro drinks. They ran out of fresh taro but this one was still good, I like that it was creamy and not just milky or overloaded with ice. The milk tea flavor is a bit strong but tastes like good quality tea. The boba itself has a good brown sugar flavor and texture. My personal favorite was the dirty boba -- I think she said they put a cheese foam sort of topping on it but I like the light flavor that highlights the boba really well. You order on their kiosks inside and mind you if you haven't ordered boba this way, it may be a little overwhelming. You can customize EVERYTHING! I'm sure the lovely staff will help you if you have questions. But you can customize sweetness, kind of tea, all the add ons are all there. This place is dangerous!!!! I mean it.. don't come unless you want to become completely addicted to their delicious menu. We came for their grand opening and only waited 20 min, maybe less for our drinks around 2:00-ish. Loved that they had a boho deal so we went all out and had mango fantasy (my personal fav- with coconut cream, lactose friendly milk and mini sago pearls and regular boba) I'm so particular with my boba.. I don't like when it's so firm it's hard to chew and this was juuuuust right! The strawberry and taro breeze was refreshing and their signature milk tea was perfect. I love that you can pick your sweetness level and they have milk foam cakes that we didn't get to try but that'll be an excuse to come back. It's adorable inside with tables on the far right that will be perfect to hang out and study, catch up with friends, you name it. So excited to have something local to us.
