My new year's resolution is to try new places and hopefully discover great eats for all to try. Well... Here is one! We stopped by Seven Seas Roasting Coffee Shop and it was so special! First, I've never been in that area of Aliso Viejo. It's charming! The establishment is very small with limited seating but it's super cute, very friendly service, and the coffee/food.... delish! I ordered a Caramel Latte with oatmilk, and Vegan BLT. So good! The coffee is great! No bitterness, which I prefer. The Vegan BLT was satisfying. Great ingredients, I personally love the heirloom tomatoes. My heart is happy! I hope you give it a try!

Seven Seas Roasting is a small coffee shop that closes shop early in the day at 4pm. They are located in a business complex with a residential community in the immediate vicinity. Cinnamon honey latte ($6.75 - 12oz) - This is made with espresso, cinnamon, organic honey, and whole milk. The coffee was rich and smooth and I could taste subtle hints of the cinnamon with honey. It was a great tasting drink. Overall, this is a cute coffee shop. Seating is limited to 2 small tables inside as well as a handful of tables outside. They do offer seasonal drinks and when I visited in the fall, they had pumpkin, maple pecan, and other fall themed drinks. The only reason why I'm not giving them an extra star is that I felt that pricing was on the higher side.

Love visiting Seven Seas Roasting in Aliso Viejo. They offer consistently great quality of both food and service. The staff are friendly and very accommodating to every patron's needs. The location offers unique seasonal drinks and food items that are crafted to perfection. I particularly enjoyed their franken matcha and London fog latte recently. Parking is free and plenty in front of the cafe. The outside seatings are nice too as you can see the palm trees, and it gives nice shaded areas to get work done. Personally, I really appreciated how close it is to Grand Park. Perfect for doing my dog walks and grabbing something to eat and drink to or from. It's a dog friendly cafe too. There's a water bowl right outside the entrance for thirsty doggos.

Was in the area after a doctor's appointment, and decided to try this little coffee shop after seeing the 4.5 rating. Very cool vibes inside, that was immediately ruined by the woman behind the register taking our order. Not sure if she was having a bad day and taking it out on customers, but I've never clicked "No tip" faster than I did today, with absolutely no hesitation. We definitely weren't the only ones, seeing that there's another negative experience/review from earlier today (2/19 10am). The real bummer is that I actually really enjoyed the coffee. Would I come back and give them another shot in hopes that she's not working that day? Probably not...

Really great food and drinks! It's a small, cute coffee shop that's always packed with customers. There are some stools to sit on and drink your coffee/eat food inside, but there is also a decent amount of public seating outside. I've tried the Loc bagel and their el siete mares toast- they don't skimp on the salmon! I've only tried their honey cinnamon latte since I can't really do sugar (but this one you can adjust the sweetness) and it's fabulous.

This cute spot in Aliso Viejo was a pleasant surprise . It was surrounded by other stores ie/barber, yoga etc. I found parking right in front and this cozy nook was just what I needed in the morning. I was welcomed with warm smiles from 3 gals working behind the cashier. I ordered one of their signature drinks lattes, the triple coconut but iced. It was not watered down, and had thee perfect taste of coconut. It has house made coconut syrup, coconut aminos and flakes of coconut. Am I drinking a coffee or a coconut paleta?! Amazing taste. Can't wait to come back here again. They had also so much merch, a body loofah that smelled like coffee , t-shirts, jackets, even a freezer that had ice cream inside that you can take pints to go.. so that left me curious that I need to check out next time.

Came out to check out this cafe shop and was surprised at how busy it was during the weekday around lunch. The line was out the door given how small this cafe is. There is not much space inside and there's only a couple high top chairs available. I ended up getting one of their signatures which was a honey cinnamon latte. I felt like the drink did not live up to my expectations since it seemed like it was such a popular spot. Definitely have had better lattes with this flavor profile before since this one seemed a bit watered down.

Drivin' Me Caprese - Avocado Toast

I stopped by this cozy little coffee shop and it was delightful. I ordered an iced chai, and it was perfectly balanced--not too sweet, just the right amount of spice. I also had the Drivin' Me Caprese Avocado Toast--hands down the best toast I've ever had. Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully put together. The space is small, with only two tables, but it adds to the charm and makes it feel personal. I especially have to mention Brenda, who was so welcoming. During the short time I was there, I heard her greet customers by name, and she genuinely seemed to care. Refreshing to see amongst the hustle and bustle of OC. Cant wait to go back and try the rest of the menu.

    Cherry Bomb & Matcha Chia

Come here about three times a month. Every time it never disappoints. Coffee is always delicious. My favorite go to when I want to treat myself is the Cherry Bomb. They also have small chia bowls with variety of flavors. Even though the shop is small and gets busy I have never had to wait long for my coffee order and the workers are always friendly. The shop does have a small nook bar area to sit at that might fit about 3-4 grown adults but minimal sitting outside.

A couple years ago I was in the area and desiring a hot coffee on a rainy day and this place popped up on my app. When I arrived there was a line out the door and onto the sidewalk. I mean, I like coffee but not enough to stand in a ridculously long line out in the rain. So I bailed on that idea. Flash forward and I'm in the area again, this time on a hot day. I remember this place so give it another try. Parking is easy along the street. No line this time! The interior is super tiny with barely enough room for one person to order. There is a small side room with a couple little tables and several tables outside with umbrellas for shade. There was a helpful woman at the counter with a great sense of humor along with a fellow with the personality of a sheet of plywood. I ordered an iced maple latte and a croissant from the pastry case. I took them outside to one of the patio tables to relax and enjoy. The croissant was good; nothing special. It was fresh and flakey. The latte tasted fine, sweetened but I couldn't detect a maple flavor at all. But it was obviously made with an excellent bean roast. This coffee place is located in an enormous apartment community where there are many ground floor shops. If I lived in the community I would probably stop in here from time to time.

    BG at Seven Seas
    Blu G.

Hello my BluGummyites! It's your gelatin boy, BG, back to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth! My intention is not to sully the 4.6 star rating that this establishment has without intention... But to spread the truth and say what, I'm sure other people are thinking, but not saying... If you're looking for a small quaint coffee shop in a neighborhood that is equally beautiful and quaint, then this might be your place! If you don't wanna walk the extra 20 minutes to Starbucks, then this ALSO might be your place! If you want to feel like you've stumbled into a hipster Gen Z, pretentious party, except it's not a party, it's a coffee shop that you have chosen to go to over any other... and the " hipster partygoers" aren't just hipster partygoers, but are the baristas and staff... Individuals who give you looks as if they don't understand how or why you've entered their space... (That is if they even acknowledge you at ALL when you enter...) Then this is most DEFINITELY your place! And lastly, if you would like burnt coffee and espresso and want to pay exuberant prices for it!---Then, I'm telling you, my friend, this is quite literally the most PERFECT coffee shop for you!!! Okay... attitude aside... the petite woman who wears glasses (circa winter/spring 2025) particularly needs to be called out for her... hmmm what is it? not necessarily rudeness... but a complete disinterest in the following: being friendly, smiling, enjoying the small joys of speaking to her fellow human... BluGummy can't tell you the amount of times he was friendly to this human only to receive blank stares, indifference, and an overall feeling that he was wasting her life and bothering her with an interaction. The way this little blue bear sees it... the owners of 7 Seas are either aware of the fact that their staff are plucked out of a yesteryear-Seattle/Portland-ish-stereotypical-angsty-pretentious scene which...if that's the case... then what more can anyone say?! YOU DID IT! Bang on! But! If they are NOT aware that their staff are so deficient and lacking in, not just good vibes, but even moderately good vibes, then it speaks to their complete obliviousness. And quite frankly if they are oblivious in that avenue why should this little blue sugar bear trust that they are doing anything else in their establishment with care and attention? BluGummy very much wants to love the coffee shop... There's a lot to love! First off, it's close, the wall of dog photos inside is very cute and gives off the warm vibe that the neighborhood is probably hoping for, the swag is cool, the logo is cool, But... If you're someone who enjoys a black Americano, or some sort of a beverage where you can actually taste the coffee without masking it with milk, sugar or anything else you need to to get through the drink... Then you'll know the coffee quality is poor and burnt. But I also want to be fair... Not all the staff super suck. Some are...I'll saaaay okay But the way I see it, in today's world of copious negativity, all people, especially businesses, especially especially service businesses like Seven Seas, should be putting at least a handful of attention on ensuring their staff are above average friendly. It doesn't have to feel like we're getting hit over the head with pleasantries and niceities, but at least to a level of human decency. And so, BluGummy is forced to give Seven Seas 3 out of 8 Blu Gummies.

I greeted the barista cheerfully and tried to be friendly, but you would have thought I'd offended her personally. The best item I got from Vanilla Street Bakery. Decently sweet with a lovely balance of nuts, dough layers, and infused syrup. I appreciated that it wasn't dripping in a sugary solution; it's definitely more balanced than other baklava I've had. Chocolate Chip Cookie ($5.20): 2/5. A very pillowy, cakey cookie, yet dry and crumbly. The flaky salt on top was a nice touch, but its overall taste and texture didn't deliver a satisfying chocolate chip cookie. Spinach-feta roll ($6.90): 2/5. Staff kindly warmed this up for me without asking, and it looked nice and savory. However, it was extremely dry, doughy, and bland, with hardly any feta. Too bland to enjoy for $7. Eclair ($7.50): 3/5. Chocolate topping and custard filling were good, but the dough was quite dry. Pricey, too! Staff were patient and knowledgeable. Interior has a quaint, cutesy look to it, with different types of seating available. I saw people catching up with friends, reading, or working, so it has a relaxing atmosphere for whatever you feel like doing. In short: most of the pastries unfortunately were very expensive and not worth the cost based on how dry and/or bland they were. Additionally, the highly anticipated Raf Coffee seemed interesting but ended up being too creamy for a coffee drink.
