RIP Wudi Kebob, but more importantly RIP Pirate Seafood. I featured that place in my panel and the presentation and amount of food was just too good. Alas truly the passage of time and the real world of capitalism we live in. My friends and I wanted to find light eats later at night and unfortunately, Chubby Skewer was way too fisted (even when it was a Thursday night), so Yelp recommended us Fengmu. It's located in the plaza where the 99 Cents used to be, so there is plenty of parking, especially at the later hour that we came at. When we got there, a party was leaving and I think maybe another group came later, but we mostly had the entire restaurant to ourselves. We had to quickly flag down a staff to be seated, but everything else was quite efficient from bringing out the banchan (beansprouts, pickled jalapenos and radishes, and some broccoli and carrots). All seasoning comes out in packages which is what they do in China according to my friend. Neat and sanitary and you can take home the leftovers. You scan the QR code to order and the server brings the food to your table. There's a hole in the table for you to drop your skewers in and the top grill for skewers will actually move and rotate the skewers through the gear on the skewer stick. You can adjust heat and when it's all cooked, you can place it on top of the "rack" so the oil can drip down or if you need it to cool down a bit. Caution though, the buttons get really hot too! Menu is an interesting mix of Korean and Chinese dish, so it's neat to see the influence of both. For our late night snacking dinner, we got the: corn cheese and enoki mushrooms (pre cooked and heated up in aluminum containers), and the 4 piece lamb skewers and the 4 piece "pork snowflake meat" skewers. Not sure what it was, but it was like a pork belly skewer when we got it. The spicy seasoning has a pretty yummy kick to it and everything was seasoned nicely and delicious. I just wish there was a way with their grill system to keep some of the already cooked food warm. The mayo with the corn cheese tasted great and you can never go wrong with this dish (again, wished that there was a way to keep it warm so the cheese was still melty). It was around $40 for this. It's not bad, a bit pricy, but it was filling since we had eaten earlier. I don't mind coming back to try more of their menu. I do like the high end look of the restaurant and the orange coloring versus the blue lighting from the other past businesses.

Really enjoyed this new skewer spot in Rowland Heights. One thing I liked is that the meat is freshly skewered and grilled in front of you, so you can actually see the quality instead of getting pre-fried skewers. The lamb skewers were juicy and flavorful, the grilled fish was surprisingly good, and the cold noodles were super refreshing. The place is clean, modern, and great for hanging out with friends late at night. Definitely coming back.

The cold noodles are very authentic, and the skewers are freshly prepared and grilled to order -- not made from frozen meat. The meat tastes very fresh. The automatic grill is honestly amazing; the skewers have a real charcoal-grilled flavor instead of that oily fried taste. So delicious. The grilled fish was also really delicious.

One of the most unique type of skewers! Their beef and lamp skewers are the freshest in town and very tasty and juicy! Loved their cold noodles and portion! A must order is their honey chicken wings mixed with skewer sauce! Their service is great too!

Brand new skewer place that has the meats cooking on a rotating grill on metal skewers. The restaurant design is modern and very clean. There are circles on the table for you to discard used skewers and they fall into a bucket under the table. The meats aren't marinated unless stated otherwise so you do need to use the sauce or powder packets to add flavor. I mixed the orange and green one together. Cold noodles was perfectly made, my only complaint is the small amount of noodles. A good two slurps and you're out of noodle. I wish I could have ordered extra noodle because everything else about this dish is on point. The skewers themselves are average. Lower star because the meat are very small and for the price of each skewer, I expected bigger pieces of meat. If you come here super hungry, the cost will add up quickly. There are many other skewer places around the area at the same price point that gives larger portions. Service was great. There is potential there. Just need to balance the amount of food per price.

Best Chinese skewers in Rowland heights! Their rotating grill is very unique and their skewer has very premium taste! The must order dish are definitely their beef, lamp and chicken skewers! Their service is also top tier too!

Freshly Grilled Meat Skewers Electric grilling, healthier! Sizzling with oil, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, bursting with juice in every bite! They offer a variety of meat skewers: the beef is incredibly fresh, the lamb is tender and not gamey, the chicken cartilage and tendons are also delicious... Order a few of each, the cumin and chili powder are so fragrant, the kind you can't stop eating! Korean Cold Noodles This bowl is so refreshing! Sweet and sour, icy cold, paired with half a soft-boiled egg and beef, perfectly balancing the greasiness of the skewers. Grilled Chicken Wings Slightly charred with a sweet and spicy flavor, incredibly tender inside! Must-order items, you won't be disappointed! Baked Corn with Cheese: Sweet + salty + stretchy cheese, who understands the joy of this bite? A favorite among kids, and the girls loved every bite... Grilled oysters, grilled scallops... the restaurant grills them for you before serving, so you can eat them one after another - so satisfying! The overall environment is very clean, and they even have an "automatic rotating grill rack," which is really relaxing to watch while you grill. Completely hands-free, perfect for gatherings with friends, chatting and eating...

FENGMU is a new Yanji-style BBQ spot in Rowland Heights, and it honestly feels more like a full dinner experience than just casual skewers. For around $25 per person, the quality and variety are very solid. The skewers are freshly prepared and grilled right in front of you. We tried the lamb skewers, beef steak skewers, pineapple beef skewers, and chicken cartilage. The meat was juicy, flavorful, and nicely caramelized on the grill. They also provide sealed seasoning packets with sesame, spicy, and BBQ flavors. Mixing them together as a dip worked really well. The side dishes were also impressive. The garlic mushrooms were juicy and savory, the honey chicken wings had that nostalgic Orleans-style flavor, the cheese corn was creamy and slightly charred, and the cucumber was crisp and refreshing. For mains, we ordered the soft tofu soup, Yanji cold noodles, and Korean spicy rice cakes with fish cake. The tofu soup was warm and comforting, the cold noodles were chewy with a balanced sweet-sour flavor, and the rice cakes were rich and satisfying. The owner is Korean-Chinese and very funny, which made the whole experience even better. They are open late, so this is a great spot for dinner or late-night BBQ. Definitely coming back.

Plus, that fish dish we had was amazing. Honestly, it's such a fun way to enjoy dinner, and clean. The owner of restaurant recommended delicious manu and very kind. We ordered a variety of skewers and sides: - Smashed cucumber salad was refreshing and one of my favorites veggie dish - Lamb and Beef skewers were decent and tender - Special pork jowl had a good fatty texture and great flavor. - Grilled eggplant and scallops were decent as well. Some items were more hit-or-miss for me. The signature chicken wings came out dry & overcooked, and the chicken skin was super crispy almost like air-fried chips -- personally I prefer chicken skin freshly grilled with a softer texture. The beef tongue skewers were sliced too thin, and okra were dry. Service was understandable for how busy they were, but it could be hard to flag someone down during peak dinner time. Overall, I'd say the food quality was okay but not the best skewers I've had, especially at around $50 per person for our group. Still, it's a convenient and lively place for late-night skewer gatherings with friends if you're in the area.

The store itself is nothing fancy, very no-frills. Prices are very reasonable, which is the main draw here. One thing to note: rice or noodles are not included with your selections unless you order them separately or choose them as one of your items--and personally, I didn't find that option worth it. There's a wide variety of choices; some dishes were solid while others were pretty underwhelming, so it's definitely hit or miss. That said, for the price, it's still a decent spot if you know what to order and aren't expecting anything special.

The dishes no longer have that proper wok hei flavor, and the food tasted bad on my recent visit. What made the experience even worse was the service. The staff were rude, dismissive, and acted annoyed that customers were even there. One of the girls, the one with the ponytail, was especially rude and needs to learn basic manners. Another staff member was also unfriendly and gave attitude the entire time. I also did not appreciate being pressured about tipping. A tip should be optional and based on good service. If the service is poor, customers should not be made to feel uncomfortable or confronted over it. On top of that, they add extra charges when using a credit card, including a fee if you spend under $30. That already feels frustrating, but the bigger issue is the attitude and poor treatment from staff. Customers are the reason businesses stay open. No one is asking to be treated like royalty, but people come in to enjoy a meal and should at least be treated with basic respect. If I am going to be ignored, rushed, and given attitude, I would rather stay home and eat in front of my TV. I will not be coming back .. food quality and customer service Nate major improve.

She was quick to take our orders, bring our dishes, and check on us/approach our table when we needed anything. She showed genuine interest and concern for us about the conversations we had. She really contributed a lot to my positive review! The meat was high quality! It wasn't too greasy. We only had the brisket and the thinly-sliced pork belly, but both were cut very well so that they cooked quickly and evenly. Our sides of corn cheese and steamed egg were good, and I appreciated that the table was already set with a salad as some places you have to ask for it We were able to walk in on a Friday evening at 8pm with no wait as they have plenty of tables, so that was also a plus They're also very efficient, as I noticed when other parties left, the staff would immediately clean the tables to open up room for more guests

The Premium menu includes quite a good variety of meats, such as beef tongue, LA kalbi short rib, rib finger, iron steak, along with seafood options like shrimp, octopus, and squid. We ordered beef tongue, thin sliced beef, pork belly, and marinated chicken. The beef tongue was probably the highlight--it grills nicely and has a good texture. The thin sliced beef and rib finger were decent for an AYCE spot--nothing extraordinary, but satisfying. The pork belly was flavorful and nicely fatty, which made it great on the grill. For side dishes, they offer a good selection including steamed egg, tofu soup, miso soup, ramen, salad, and kimchi. The steamed egg was soft and comforting, and the tofu soup had good flavor, which added to the overall meal. The restaurant environment is simple but comfortable, with spacious seating and clean grills. Service was reasonably attentive and refills of meat came at a decent pace. Considering the current Korean BBQ prices in the LA area, $34.99 for the Premium AYCE feels like a fair mid-range option. You get a lot of variety including seafood and multiple cuts of meat. That said, if you are looking for top-tier meat quality, this place may feel more average. Overall: a good spot for casual gatherings with friends when you want to enjoy plenty of grilled meat without spending too much. Recommended items: * Beef tongue * LA kalbi short rib * Pork belly Solid value for an AYCE Korean BBQ meal.
