The sevice was great the server were nice the food was good and the amazing deals The place was very nice and clean.

    Very good

Really enjoyed our visit here! The restaurant has a great atmosphere -- stylish but still very comfortable. Food was delicious across the board, and everything came out nicely presented. Service was friendly and attentive without being over the top. Overall, it's one of those places that just gets everything right. Would definitely come back and recommend to friends!

The food was amazing, and serving also made us like home. Highly recommended. Easy to find parking.

Very authentic BBQ--one of the closest tastes to China. Highly recommend the lamb skewers, grilled oysters, and grilled eggplant--all well-seasoned and cooked perfectly. Will definitely come back to try the iron pot stew next time.

First time trying Yue Ju Er in Rowland Heights and it's definitely my new go-to spot for group dinners! Perfect place if you're looking for skewers + hearty Northeastern Chinese dishes. BBQ Skewers * Lamb & Beef Skewers - packed with cumin flavor, juicy and generous portions. * Grilled Chicken Hearts / Tofu Skin / Sausage - chicken hearts are bouncy and flavorful, tofu skin is smoky with a nice chew, and the sausage bursts with juice (perfect with beer). * Garlic Oysters - loaded with garlic, fresh and plump. Hot Dishes * Grilled Eggplant / Enoki Mushroom in Foil - classic late-night dishes, soft and flavorful eggplant, enoki mushrooms soaking up all the sauce. * Spicy Bullfrog in Foil - super tender and spicy, makes you want to order extra rice. * Sizzling Tofu - crispy outside, soft inside, delicious sauce. Staples * Sour & Spicy Vermicelli - tangy, chewy, and refreshing. * Northeastern Braised Noodles / Dumplings - authentic flavors, noodles soaked up the sauce perfectly, dumplings are big, juicy, and full of filling. Overall Great spot for authentic Northeastern-style BBQ and homestyle dishes. Bold flavors, generous portions, and fun atmosphere - perfect for friends gathering! Definitely recommend if you love skewers and hearty food.

Note: what we learned from our first visit. I would call and make a reservation before coming by as it can be pretty busy and if you want to the stew pot, it gives them time to prep it. It takes some 20mins for them to prep it in the back and more time when it's placed at your table, but if you make a reservation and order ahead they can prep it and have it placed on four table ahead of time. Saw this place show up and we wanted to give it a try as we were craving some skewers. We definitely want to come back and try the stew pot as it looked delicious at other tables. Small venue and can get loud but I think it's what makes this type of restaurant work I will say they are a bit slow on service because the food is prepped and cooked in the back before they place it on your table to be kept warm. But if you're not in a rush and want to much and drink, it's a fine pace to eat some skewers, drink and socialize. The good: Lamb skewers - good portion of meat, not too overly seasoned. Surprisingly, it wasn't gamey at all. Even had someone in the party who hates the gamey-ness of lamb and actually liked it Beef skewers - get this over the house special beef (I'll get to that in a bit). Better portion of meat, good seasoning Pork belly skewers - just the right amount of fat and protein. Corn - good seasoning, very sweet corn Enoki mushroom - it's really a plate than a skewer so done let the 1 skewer portion mislead you. It's delicious The bad/could be improved - Chicken skin skewers - I'm fine with the portion, but I wish it was cooked more consistently and even crispier. Some I found too chewy and undercooked Cooked House special beef - too spicy and the portion is tiny for the 10 skewers. Can't taste the minimal beef with all the seasoning on it. Get the normal 5 pc beef skewers! Sizzling shrimp - good flavor but generally not worth it in my opinion General issues are that the portion of meat for the price isn't worth it on a lot of items (vegetables especially) but what they get right, it hits the spot just right. I think there's just overall menu pricing issues. Something along the lines of: is 5 beef skewers is equal to 5 okra? I could just go back for beers, beef and lamb skewers, corn and enoki all day and I'd be fine. But I will give this place a try next time for the stew pot and update the review

It's the weekend! I found a skewer place to treat myself. It's my first time coming here, and the décor has a great vibe. They play Chinese hip-hop music inside, which makes the atmosphere super cool! Not only do they serve delicious Northeastern-style barbecue, but they also have several kinds of iron pot stews you can order--like braised goose in an iron pot or chicken with mushrooms. Being able to enjoy both skewers and hearty stews in one place feels like pure happiness!

The skewers are really tasty, the grilling time was well controlled. Their pot is on the bigger side, we ordered their fish and pork rib pot, the fish is really fresh, however you will be thirsty after eating their pot. Also the pot is lacking flavor, probably needs more cooking time. Everything is on the pricier side for sure. Their service is good when not busy

Great food made with fresh ingredients -- you can really taste the quality. The restaurant is very clean and well kept, and the atmosphere is calm and comfortable, making it a great place to enjoy a meal. Definitely recommend and would come back again.

We waited nearly 2 hours for our table, but time went by quickly because my boyfriend and I played free video games the entire time! Unfortunately, we were not aware that we would have limited time to eat. Instead of 1 1/2 hours, we only had 45 minutes because last call was 9:30. We did feel rushed and were told by someone we would be given extra time, but we were not. Our waiter said the person who seated us was wrong. We still paid full price, which really didn't sit well with me since we weren't able to take our time to choose what we wanted to eat. Instead, we had to rush to order and got full quickly. Why didn't the hostess let us know when we arrived? For $85 a person, I would have gone somewhere else and come back another time to enjoy myself, not feel rushed and made to feel like I was eating desserts and side items that had been out all day. We didn't get to try the Wagyu burgers since there weren't any. Just empty trays. Four or five pieces of dessert to choose from. Not four or five types, just five left. I guess if you go later, they do not put any additional food out. Pretty disappointing, especially with the high cost. Our server, Kenzie, was very friendly and definitely made our night better. The restaurant has a very cool vibe and plays music loud, but not to where it's annoying. I recommend it; just go early.

The prices are a tad high, but we live now in 2026, so I have to realize that inflation from the past quarter century or longer has impacted the perception that a plate of Chow Mein or bowl of Won Ton costs more than the $3.95 of the 1980's and more than the $5.95-$8.95 of the 1990's and even more than the $10-12 of the early Y2K... so paying in the realm of $15-20 per entree I guess should be expected in 2026. The portions were good on the chow mein. The won ton soup (no noodles) came with 8 pieces of Won Ton which is average. I added roast duck but got the worst luck of the draw with the drumstick quarter (the best is the "breast" portion quarter) which comprised of a small piece chopped into 4 pieces that was lacking meat (skin and bones!!) and in hindsight, I should have skipped the duck or ordered a side dish of duck a la carte separate. The "To Go" was an interesting experience, as I ordered a 1/2 pound of Roast Pork (Siu Yuk) and true to Chinese butcher shop tradition, I should have said "I want $10 of Roast Pork" than what I said, which was "I want 1/2 pound of Roast Pork" as my mom told me whenever you order by weight, they tend to go way over that mark and assume it's okay, so what should have been $11 ended up being $18 and more like 3/4 pound than 1/2 pound so my own oblivious ignorance caused a 50% upsell. The biggest or oddest aspect was, for $18, the portion of what 3/4 lbs (12 oz) is, isn't that much. When you factor in the fat content and weight of the fat, there's not that much meat, and the "cracklin' skin" was good where it was, but was absent from portions of the serving, so I'd say I was disappointed overall in this. I think the rate was about $22/lb, which again in 2026 might make sense to be competitive FMV fair market value, but growing up in the 1990's as a consumer, seems too high to the good 'ol days of 30-40 years ago... again, nobody's fault by misguided perception by folks who are 50-60+ years old in 2026. I'd come back here, but would order differently.

The dishes no longer have that proper wok hei flavor, and the food tasted bad on my recent visit. What made the experience even worse was the service. The staff were rude, dismissive, and acted annoyed that customers were even there. One of the girls, the one with the ponytail, was especially rude and needs to learn basic manners. Another staff member was also unfriendly and gave attitude the entire time. I also did not appreciate being pressured about tipping. A tip should be optional and based on good service. If the service is poor, customers should not be made to feel uncomfortable or confronted over it. On top of that, they add extra charges when using a credit card, including a fee if you spend under $30. That already feels frustrating, but the bigger issue is the attitude and poor treatment from staff. Customers are the reason businesses stay open. No one is asking to be treated like royalty, but people come in to enjoy a meal and should at least be treated with basic respect. If I am going to be ignored, rushed, and given attitude, I would rather stay home and eat in front of my TV. The store itself is nothing fancy, very no-frills. Prices are very reasonable, which is the main draw here. One thing to note: rice or noodles are not included with your selections unless you order them separately or choose them as one of your items--and personally, I didn't find that option worth it. There's a wide variety of choices; some dishes were solid while others were pretty underwhelming, so it's definitely hit or miss. We went with the Premium AYCE option and felt it was well worth it. The thin-sliced beef tongue was one of my favorites -- it cooked quickly and had a nice texture. The bulgogi was a little sweet, but it paired perfectly with rice and was really satisfying. I also liked that there were plenty of options beyond just BBQ. The ramen was unexpectedly good, with a thicker, more concentrated broth that reminded me of Korean convenience store ramen. The tofu soup was flavorful and comforting, with tender pieces of meat that added extra richness. Service was attentive, and side dishes were refilled regularly throughout the meal. Overall, a solid Korean BBQ spot with a good variety of meats and sides at a reasonable price. I'd definitely come back for another group dinner.

The Premium menu includes quite a good variety of meats, such as beef tongue, LA kalbi short rib, rib finger, iron steak, along with seafood options like shrimp, octopus, and squid. We ordered beef tongue, thin sliced beef, pork belly, and marinated chicken. The beef tongue was probably the highlight--it grills nicely and has a good texture. The thin sliced beef and rib finger were decent for an AYCE spot--nothing extraordinary, but satisfying. The pork belly was flavorful and nicely fatty, which made it great on the grill. For side dishes, they offer a good selection including steamed egg, tofu soup, miso soup, ramen, salad, and kimchi. The steamed egg was soft and comforting, and the tofu soup had good flavor, which added to the overall meal. The restaurant environment is simple but comfortable, with spacious seating and clean grills. Service was reasonably attentive and refills of meat came at a decent pace. Considering the current Korean BBQ prices in the LA area, $34.99 for the Premium AYCE feels like a fair mid-range option. You get a lot of variety including seafood and multiple cuts of meat. That said, if you are looking for top-tier meat quality, this place may feel more average. Overall: a good spot for casual gatherings with friends when you want to enjoy plenty of grilled meat without spending too much.
