We were in town in a tournament and looked for a no chain place to eat. That's how we found this little place. Great subs!! The subs' name are just very creative, the trucker, Luis and Clark, the cowboy. I did order the Philly in large size with coleslaw and added lettuce. Just fantastic! We stopped in for lunch. My companion got the Spartan and he said it was very tasty and just a little spivey so he enjoyed that. I got the cordon bleu. The chicken was chunks of moist chicken, shaved ham and some bacon crumbles and it was very generous on the blue cheese dressing, loved it!! The sandwiches are large, getting a small with some chips (wide variety to choose from) will fill most anyone. Highly recommend giving the Fenton Deli a try. We will be back for sure. read more

First time through - great food - we will be back soon!!! My wife & I split a Cuban. It was toasted nicely with just the right amount of bbq and crunch. They have a large selection of homemade soups which they will let you try a spoonful before committing to a cup or bowel. Loved the pasta fogoli soup- but the Mushroom Brie soup is worth considering. The one menu item you should definitely order - The COOKIES!!! If you ask nicely - the will run them through the oven. Soft on top and crunchy on the bottom - awesome !!! read more

I was super unimpressed with this place. After living in Fenton for over 2 years, everyone just can't believe that I had never been to this place. But today I went for the first time and wish I had stuck with Jimmy John's for sandwiches. First of all, the menu is set up all weird and is very confusing/cluttered. Then the food itself was very blah. I ordered the Shanghai Chicken sandwich and like I said, I was not impressed. Especially compared to Mancino's grinders, this place was just gross. The food was great! First off, the service is great. Everyone is friendly, the food is made quickly, and served hot. We had the BBQ Sub (shredded beef with BBQ sauce and swiss cheese) and the Picasso, a steak sub with Cattleman's Sauce (think Carolina BBQ sauce), and nacho sauce. I'll admit, we were skeptical: My husband is from New York, his mother worked in delis there for years, and so anything claiming to be a deli is going to get scrutinized by this family. WOW. Are we ever glad that we got past that prejudice and tried it. FANTASTIC. Fresh ingredients-with as many sourced locally as possible. Excellent quality ingredients. Friendly service. Great original menu. Love all the sub choices. Whatever you're in the mood for, you'll find it! Meats always seem like good quality. Service- mostly good. I thought maybe it was "just me" but the first couple of times I went there I felt a little talked down to by the owner. The menu is very large and if you've never been there before, the whole ordering process can be complex. My feelings were confirmed recently when I saw him do it to another lady when she clearly hadn't been there before and asked him a question. Except this lady stood up for herself and said "hey now, some of us have never been here before" to which his reply was "that's why I'm tellin ya, now you know." Then my husband whispered, "yeah the owner definitely comes of as arrogant sometimes" so it wasn't just me! After going there for the past couple of years though, I feel like he really means no harm. I get the feeling that may just be his sense of humor. Despite not always loving the service, it really is a great place sandwiches. I agree with a couple of the other reviews though...the Mac and cheese is not good! Their sandwiches are so good they could probably do away with many of the misc. items on their menu and save theirselves some money. It's all about the sandwiches. There that good! read more

I order Fenton deli at least once a week. The bread is always fresh, the service is great and friendly, the portions are HUGE, and there are so many options. I normally find something I like (Marilyn Monroe) and stick to it but I've tried about 5 different sandwiches and all were great. We ended up canceling our order because she didn't seem interested in taking it over the phone... if you are going to be rude and not invest into your customer engagement then maybe you should consider some form of online ordering! I used to LOVE Fenton Deli. Recently they changed their bread and it has completely, 100%, ruined it for me. It's not the same, huge step backwards. All the combinations in sandwiches are amazing but I just can't eat there anymore. The old bread was 500% better. I've tried eating there twice since they switched bread and I've had a couple bites and thrown the sandwich away. So sad :( read more

I heard about Fenton Deli from a few friends and had to try it out. I must warn you; once you eat there, you won't be able to stop. Fresh ingredients, great food, and the sub of the month is always something to look forward to. The staff is always very energetic and friendly, and it's always fun to talk with the owner (he's always there cranking out great food!) and see what he has up his sleeve. The craziest thing is the price of a sub. One large will easily feed 2 people, and it's only 9.99!! You also get a punch card that gives you a free sub every time you buy 10...I'm on my 3rd one in 2 months! Bottom line; don't pass this place up. I've had almost every sub on the menus and all are delicious. The bad part about this restaurant is the 3.99% fee they add to your bill for using a credit card. This is highway robbery. I had a the smokehouse sub, it was really good, but had a bit too much sauce making the bread a little mushy. If I ever went back I'd probably ask for light sauce. So the food gets a thumbs up. If you have OCD, you should probably get your food to go. This joint is a cluttered mess, shit everywhere. It's also kind of confusing to order. There are pictures of the subs in the area you order from, and pictures of appetizers to the left but they're spaced pretty far apart. I kind of wanted Mac and cheese, but I didn't really know who to order it from, super confusing with no flow or obvious ordering system to speak of. I gave this place 4 stars because for a sandwich place the food was good. The "Deli" in the name is a little misleading. I was expecting more pastrami, corned beef etc. you know, deli stuff. I think my experience would have been better if they had a more efficient system and a little less stuff everywhere (honestly all the stuff was a little anxiety inducing). We come here all the time. It is always busy, because it is the most delicious sandwich place around. The meats are not "lunch meat" these are premium cuts of meat, and they pile the stuff on there. If you want a meal, order a small, anything larger will be more than one meal. The sandwich artist is so nice, and he will give you recommendations if you ask. this is hands-down my favorite place to get a sandwich now. The owners are very friendly and very helpful, the portions are very generous, the variety is amazing and everything I have tried from here has tasted fantastic. Everytime I'm in Fenton I stop and get a sandwich. I would highly recommend this to anybody. I have not tried their soup yet but they always have at least eight or nine different kinds of soup available. I ate here for lunch today for the first time. The one bite that I took of my sandwich was the worst thing that has ever entered my mouth, and that's saying a lot. The sandwich was NOT cooked, not even a little. I am someone who likes my meat medium; not raw. The employees were rude and obviously have never heard of customer service. They made no attempt at rectifying the situation and basically left me with a "tuff shit answer." My advice to anyone who is looking for a good sandwich, try Jimmy Johns and save your money - unless you want Trichinosis or some other disease from the uncooked meat. I've been a fan of Fenton Deli for a few years. I can honestly say, that the quality of ingredients have not changed; nor has the professionalism and courtesy of the owners. What has changed over the last 6-9 months is the quantity of ingredients added by the owner in the initial stage of the sub build. The ingredients added in the second stage hasn't changed, the ladies that work that station are lovely, polite and aim to please. I miss the old days and would pay extra for the original sub build. read more

Best sub in town, no arguments. Friends and I would regularly go here for lunch. Prices often rise a couple times a year though and are now out of range for what any of us are comfortable spending for lunch. You get a large sandwich, but I would rather have a bit less and the price lowered. It's basically $3.00 just for a normal bag of chips and a medium fountain drink. Couple that with small sandwiches that are almost all $7 or more and you are at over $10 for a simple lunch. I would definitely come back much more often if it wasn't for the prices. If you do go here, enjoy a very good sandwich, just be prepared with both a large appetite and a large, open wallet. read more
