Viviani - the picture doesn't do this chicken cutlet sandwich justice. The lemon aïoli was magnificent!
    Laura G.

As a sandwich lover, this place is a must. I ordered the Vivani, which had chicken cutlets and a fresh lemon aioli. That citrus flavor took this sandwich to the next level. My friend enjoyed the Franca, which looked almost too pretty to eat. Our server, Syd, recommended adding a balsamic drizzle, which completed that caprese feel. Would definitely stop here again, because the food and service were superb. Not to mention, East Aurora is such a cute town. Sitting out on the front patio is perfect for people watching on Main Street.

We had a great time at Marta's. After hearing positive things about them, we made a point of stopping there when in town. They did an amazing job refurbishing the building with an old world European feel. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming and helped us to choose our lunch picks. We tried a bowl of their in-house chicken noodle and the soup of the day, zucchini. Both were fantastic, but we both agreed that the zucchini soup was the winner there. We split one of their Caesar salads and the Trinity sandwich. We enjoyed them both and had enough left over for lunch the next day. They also have a nice selections of beer and ciders on tap! There were a lot of more items on the menu we are excited to try when we go back.

This place does not have off street parking so leave time to find a spot but once you are inside the ambience will be all worth it. The walls are moody and have many interesting items to look at, items for sale, and menus to read. Many of the sandwiches have a pistachio sauce that is amazing and the meats are sliced super thin. It's truly an amazing combo. The salad croutons were just so fresh and we also got a flatbread not pictured that was quite good.

We are always looking for new places to try and after consulting Yelp and looking for local places that we would pass by on our drive home we settled on Marta's. If you blink, you'll drive right by it but I'm glad we didn't. Be aware there's no parking lot so you need to find a place on the street, which was no problem at all because it is just outside the main drag of downtown East Aurora, but still on Main Street. It is a small unassuming space very open but with a bar that has about six seats available and the rest of the space is two and four tops. Very bright inside with a very eclectic assortment of decorations. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted asked if we wanted to sit at the bar or a table and we chose the bar. Immediately upon sitting, the bartender greeted us, handed us a menu gave us just enough time in space to Peru's the menu before taking our drink orders. Several local beers and insiders to choose from they appear on a large board behind the bar area, as does the menu showing an assortment of sandwiches and Panini. The theme is definitely Italian. We were advised that the soup of the day was a zucchini bisque. I am not normally a soup person, but it was a very cold day and I love zucchini so I had to try it. I don't eat red meat and often have a hard time with selections in sandwich places. But at Marta's, I have the opposite issue. Too many choices! I was still deciding when the soup came out. It was piping, hot and delicious not too salty not too bland. The zucchini definitely was the star of the show, but it was thickened with potato and and topped with a crème fraîche and EVOO. I had a cup of it, but honestly could have had a bowl it was that good. Meanwhile, the bartender continued to check in on us. He was very friendly and very knowledgeable. We could see right into the kitchen, which was small and cramped, but had two cooks and it was very clean, which is always a big plus in my book has been decided on the chicken Parm sandwich, which I wasn't too sure was the right choice for him. How wrong I was. Not only did it look delicious, but it must've tasted delicious because he ate the entire thing, which is very rare for him. I can't remember the name of the sandwich I ate, but it was a chicken cutlet with a very fresh and zesty lemony aïoli and arugula. How could I go wrong? Honestly, I could have had any number of things on the menu and been very happy. The roles were amazing. I specifically asked about them and were told that they ordered them from a place in New York City. I wish I could buy the bread around here, but maybe I don't because I would probably gain 100 pounds. While we seated, someone came in and placed an order to go, I got the impression they were a regular based on the interaction I observed, which is another good sign when you have repeat customers. We will definitely be part of the repeat customer crowd. There were a lot of other options on that menu. I have to work through if you're looking for a place that has a nice vibe not too loud that you can hear the conversation you're trying to have with your dining partner, doesn't have a ton of people inside, and offers up fresh, innovative, and delicious food at really a fair price give Marta's a try.

Anywhere with a delicious hot chicken cutlet sandwich and Caesar salad is getting 5 stars from me. They had a perfect sized menu and it was hard to decide which sandwich to choose from they all sounded delicious. The "Mike the Bike" was the perfect amount of spicy but paired well with a Caesar salad. I will be back to try one of everything Service was friendly and prompt. Restaurant is small and quaint but perfect for a lunch or intimate dinner

Cute little place that features Italian sandwiches. The place was clean and the staff very friendly. I had The Tony which was delicious. My wife had the chicken Parmesan which came out piping hot ( I hate places that serve that sandwich Luke warm or cold). She thought the cutlet was a little thin but the sandwich overall was good. I knocked off 1 star because of the price ($18) for just a sandwich. No chips or side salad. Overall very positive

Delicious sandwiches and a very cool atmosphere, however, it is a tiny space which leads to noise bouncing off the walls. Unsure if we were just there with a loud table next to us or if this is the case at all times (Only 5 people at the table near us though). The service was fantastic! I'd highly suggest trying out the "Mike the bike" sandwich as it was phenomenal. The waiter told us they'd be offering pasta soon as well. We will be back to try again!

My fiance and I stopped for a second time to Marta's on a warm and sunny Saturday in October following the Roycroft festival. We were warmly greeted and chose to sit inside on this visit. We got cozy in our spot and enjoyed the sun streaming in through the large windows. We admired the wall of stuff. It osnarranged beautifully. I ordered the prosecco, which is on tap and it waa great. I also ordered the Sandro with gf bread. My fiance got a beer on draft and the mortadella. We also got 2 bags of chips. When I bit into the Sandro for the first time, I knew that this has been the sandwich I was craving all my life. It was delicious. This is the kind of sandwich you dream about. The spread on it really solidified those thoughts. Our server was delightful and expressed that they will be finding more gf items including beer and dough for the flatbreads. He was friendly. Check this place out!

The Meatball sandwich and one of their craft beers on tap

Marta's market is amazing!! Located on Main Street, East Aurora, NY in between the West and East end, Marta's has the BEST Italian sandwiches and their version of pizza called a "pinsa" which has a dough made from ancient grains. My favorite pinsa is the Careen with sautéed onion and mushroom with goat cheese and ricotta. Can't go wrong with classics like the meatball sandwich or the chicken parm sandwich or Italian deli sandwich's with anything from prosciutto to mortadella. They're open for lunch and dinner most days.

The food is always super fresh and the service always makes me want to come back and try something new. The patio is very cute in the summer time

I've been wanting to try their Sicilian-style pizza for quite some time, and my birthday cookie…read morereward finally gave me the perfect excuse to celebrate. They already have a fantastic thin-crust pizza, so I asked if they could make the Sicilian style with the muffuletta toppings. No problem at all. It took a little longer than expected (ordered for 4:45, ready at 5:00), but it was absolutely worth the wait. Ordering is easy online or by phone. If you get voicemail, just call back - they're probably on the phone with another customer. Now, about that pizza. The thick Sicilian crust had the perfect chew: light and airy inside with a crisp, golden bottom. Every bite was loaded with the bold salty toppings, bringing a savory, slight spice/pickled kick that paired perfectly with the oils and melted cheese. The toppings reached edge to edge, creating a pizza that was hearty, flavorful, and impossible to put down. Please pencil in a visit to The Deli on a Wednesday to grab one of their pizzas. I do recommend ordering ahead to claim your dough. This version reads like a Yelp review and really highlights the texture and flavor of a loaded Sicilian pie.

The top half of the roll often has horseradish spread and it is dowsed with au jus or those are served on the side. The sandwich is local, originating in Buffalo but you can get them in Rochester too. The sandwich comes in three sizes, large, medium and sliders. Choosing the medium, the portion of roast beef was generous. So generous, in fact, that the roll was too small for the sandwich. It was served with au jus to the side and potato chips. The roast beef, allegedly freshly made, tasted clayish. Salt was the dominant flavor, hardly any caraway seed flavor. About half way into the sandwich, I wondered if there was any horsedsdish on the bun. Truly, it was hard to tell, but if there was, it was overwhelmed by the salt along with the caraway. Perhaps there was too much meat for the roll? Lazy caraway seeds? Not enough horseradish? Whatever, it was, at best, disappointing. Now I didn't try anything else and other diners seemed happy plus service was prompt and helpful, the setting friendly and pleasant, so I am reluctant to give two stars but that's actually a more accurate grade for the sandwich. Try the restaurant, but skip the Beef on Weck.
