They will guide you through the a-la-carte screws, nails, nuts, and bolts with expertness, making sure that the style, strength, and size of the hardware fits your project's needs. The prices for most items are competitive with big box stores-- items like PVC pipe, wood filler, and hardware are cheaper at Altadena Hardware in a side-by-side comparison to big box stores. If you purchase materials like wood or pipe, they can cut it for you for transport! The selection of paint, hardware, garden supplies, light bulbs, power tools, adhesives, and most other typical household hardware needs are excellent. Based on size, they don't stock as much lumber or appliances as big box stores. Very helpful -- they do cartridge exchange for Soda Stream!! And have many options of Soda Stream flavorings. They also sell local honey up at the cash register! Altadena Hardware is my first choice for hardware needs!

It's a large, clean, well-lit, well organized store with a pretty fantastic selection of everything as far as I can see. All that aside, I have to rave about the people who work there. They're fantastic. They're friendly, they come looking to help you, they know what they're selling, they know how it works, they know exactly where to find what it is you're looking for. I have had such great interactions with the folks who work at the store I cannot speak highly enough about it. Ace hardware franchises their stores and this one is one of their few corporate stores which means they have everything, they're huge. But the best thing they have is stellar employees and managers. Ace truly is the place with the helpful hardware person. I'll be back, just looking for an excuse really!

But I have to say also that ordering for delivery recently was unacceptable. I ordered a large cabinet for my bathroom and paid extra for in home delivery. They put the box in my living room. They said it would not fit in the bathroom. I asked them to remove the cabinet from the packaging and place the cabinet in the bathroom, which was what I paid extra for. NO, they would not do that. I had to remove the box from around the cabinet (it is very large) and place it in the bathroom myself after the delivery men left.

I am as handy as you need to be to be a homeowner to NOT shell out lots of money on home repairs(I rather spend money on dining out :) . I have learned how to paint, patch ant openings, fixed my toilet, redone grouts, and even trimmed the trees by hanging out here. Remember you can make keys (home, AUTO ,...) here also. Key making machines are available (see pic) and it's very affordable at HD. Many sale items of good value on their end caps on a weekly basis.

The lady owner told him she would put them all in the box for him, when he was ready to used it , found out it was just 1 side new the rest of the 2 pairs were old sample of his that he brought in to show as sample to get the new screw. I was able to get most of what I needed for my project. The staff are helpful, I needed help in a specific aisle and I didn't need to wait long for a staff member to come help me.
