Food's a bit pricey but you get decent portion sizes and everything I've ever had from here has been pretty good. Potato skins are alright, gnocchi is really good, Sicilian sampler that comes with ravioli, spaghetti, lasagna, and Italian sausage is good but the sausage is always I bit too tangy for my taste. Delivery takes awhile but so order about an hour in advance of when you think you may want to actually eat. Overall, a pretty solid Italian food option for the area. Came here on a Sunday night around 8 PM. The place was busy, but not slammed. We were greeted with a friendly smile as we entered, and quickly seated in a spacious booth. We had been here a few times several years ago and always enjoyed it. We had heard about the new owner and Chef, Josh, and thought we'd give it a try. The space has been updated and looks very nice, and casual. Our server, Jacob, was very friendly and gave us plenty of attention without being annoying. Beverages were on our table quickly, followed by a bread basket with several slices of warm, fresh PERFECT Italian bread. Yeasty, soft center, with crust that had just the right amount of chew. We ordered Calamari to start and loved it. Tasty, crispy coating, and very tender pieces. The ammoglio was flavorful, with large tomato chunks. A+ Wife ordered the Chicken Parmigiana, which was absolutely delicious. Nice crust, and VERY tender chicken, flavorful sauce. I ordered the penne, with meat sauce, and a scoop of ricotta on top. OUTSTANDING! We each had a salad plate before the entree and it was crispy, cold and had just the right balance. Our first and last time in. My husband and I thought we'd try some place new as we usually frequent Villa, this was utterly disappointing. The chicken soup had a sour taste , the salad bar was okay. We've been here twice since the new owners took over and renovated everything. We will return to try more menu items, but so far, it's pretty good. First of all, the warm crusty bread that they bring before you order is terrific. I'd go back for that and a glass of wine alone. The two chicken entrees we have had were very good, with an intense red sauce, on the sweet side. Their version of a Michigan salad is helped by a bacon jam dressing instead of the usual raspberry, a nice twist. Greens were very fresh, and we devoured every morsel. Their house salad, sadly, was a little sad. Not much green, lots of white pieces of head lettuce. Skippable. The pizza was a big disappointment. If you can't do a good pizza crust, then all one is tasting are the toppings, and the crust here is very bland without any of that "chew" that is so necessary. They call it a "craft" pizza, but that crust needs work. Actually, it needs to be tossed away! There are so many good pizza crust recipes available, and I know because I make many myself at home, I don't understand how this version is found in a really good restaurant that does almost everything else so well. The owners are always there and are very involved with everything, are open and friendly, and that goes a long way in providing a good customer experience. I've been here twice with my family. What a great place! The price is just right for the portion and the atmosphere is very friendly and fit for families. The menu is great, except every dish seems to have at least one flaw. Instead of writing a full-out essay, I'll just list them for the readers' convenience. Chicken Marsala: The chicken was cooked perfectly and the pasta was al dente. Flaw: Sauce was very, very watery. The cook didn't let the sauce reduce enough or didn't drain the pasta enough before adding to the dish. Also, it was plated very sloppy (but it's a family restaurant, who cares?). Pesto Pizza: The cheese was gooey and stringy and everything tasted fresh. Flaw: The whole pizza overall was very bland. It could've used a lot more salt or other flavors. Also, the crust was pretty soggy. Lasagna: Man, the portion is great! The cheese and sauce tasted very fresh. Flaw: There are too many pasta layers and too little filling. Salad Bar: The salad bar is kept on top of ice so the lettuce stays crisp. There's also a pretty good variety of toppings. Flaw: Imitation bacon bits. Why, why, why?! It makes me feel like I'm back to the bad cafeteria salad bar in elementary school. Seriously, serve the real stuff or don't serve it at all! Key Lime Pie: These pies are super good. It has the perfect balance of sweetness and tartness. Also, the bottom part of the crust is flaky and not soggy. In fact, it was so good, I tried to make it at home. It just was not the same. I love the key lime pie so much, it kills me to write the flaw part. :( Flaw: The Key Lime Pie was green. That's what you'd except right? But no. Real, legit key lime pies are suppose to be golden yellow. They get their color from the yolk and the key lime juice, which are both yellow. I just wish they would stop putting in unnecessary food coloring. If you are going to Ferlito's, there's basically two things you HAVE to try: The salad bar and the pies. Had dinner here tonight and was extremely satisfied. Our server Evan was very attentive and cheerful. The salad was maybe lacking a couple normal items I enjoy in my salad (cucumber, cheese), but was still a good starter. All of our entrees were essentially family sized portions and didn't disappoint in flavor. My lasagna had a great sauce and cheese layer baked on. A new owner took over earlier in the year and made some changes to the menu and changes to all the recipes. This is unfortunate. Not need to stop in, the restaurant will probably fail soon as the food has gone from good to almost not being edible. The food is consistently overlooked and greasy now. How could one fail so abysmally at a simple plate of spaghetti with meat sauce is really beyond me. We spent 24$ and waited over 40 minutes for the lamest saddest pasta and ravioli I've ever had. The only reason we finished our food was because A) it was edible and B) we were starving at this point and C) we got half servings. I honestly would've been better off eating chef boyardee from a can than this because at least I would've saved some cash. Really you could get better sauce from a jar of prego, NOT KIDDING. Not even going to comment on the sad little salad bar. It's too bad the food was so below par because the waitstaff was so friendly and attentive. Bottom line, walk fast and far from this place as you can because the only thing even close to Italian about it is its name. If you took the time to look through my review history for a second you'd see that I have only honest reviews ranging from 1-5 stars (an overwhelming amount are actually 3-5 stars...). If my previous review struck such a nerve with you, perhaps you should take a step back and question why that is, since in your opinion, your food is so amazing it should hold up to such intense scrutiny. IMO this isn't authentic Italian food, the owner should take a trip back to Italy and revisit his roots because if you put this food in front of an Italian person, they'd probably spit it back out. read more

Where to start? We placed a carry out order on a Saturday night. The order we received was wrong. When we called back to ask for the missing item (a pizza), the person on the phone flat out denied that our order was wrong and offered a refund of $4 when 1/3 of the items we ordered were missing, the order total was over $30. Ferlito's is hands down my favorite Italian restaurant. Their food......amazing! I have yet to have something I don't love.. So why the three stars? Service. It seems it is always unorganized and slow. One server in particular has no concept on how to be a server. We waited 19 minutes to just be greeted and get water. It took 45 minutes to get my drink and 65 minutes to get my food. People who came after us had eaten and left before we got our drinks. After we were almost finished with our entrees, the sides arrived. When I told the manager about this particular server (it was the third time I had this problem with them), I was told that "we'd have to agree to disagree". Since moving to the area I really wanted to try this place. Ive heard great things about the food. First, I like the new decor outside the building, however the inside need a bit of updating. I ordered a Ceasar salad which was large and delicious for the price. I ordered s small pizza and it was tasty. The pepperoni was the real deal and I like the cheese and sauce. We ordered one gluten free pasta and one regular pasta, when both arrived and looked and tasted exactly the same we waited 20 minutes to see our waitress who lied and said they look the same because all they serve is gluten free pasta. Had to walk to front door to find the owners and manager. Found out my gluten free daughter was served flour pasta! Waited another 10 minutes while the entire staff, owners and managers discussed the situation in the back of the dining room then disappeared into the kitchen. Terrible....if it was not for the great bread it would be awfull. Ordered veal parmasean and it was prossesed meat circles. At 14.99 a plate i want real veal not veal mcnugets.
