We used Fernando's for our daughter's 30th birthday party last weekend and could not have been happier! As one recent reviewer wrote, Fernando's food is great and the responsive, professional, and friendly service also great. Our guests ate heartily of all Fernando's offerings, which (somewhat unusually I believe) included lots of veggies such as broccoli, onions, and peppers. They graciously will package requested leftovers for you after the grill closes; I suggest having aluminum containers on hand so you can enjoy the delicious taco meat and fixings days later -- as we did (and still are doing!). read more

We used Fernando's Catering for our Christmas Party. They don't serve out of a taco truck but set up a grill and a serving station. We had over 70 people. Plenty of good food. People were stuffed and everyone enjoyed the food. People went for 2nds and 3rds (like 4 tacos at a time) and had even extra left over food for people to take home. Food was not greasy nor over salted (so you don't feel thirsty at the end of the night) but very flavorful. Ismael the main server along with his dad (the owner) were very nice. For the price, service, taste and quantity you get value. We also ordered Horchata - good and grilled vegs which other taco people didn't serve. read more

AMAZING! Start to finish working with Fernando's Catering was nothing but amazing beginning with the super prompt and detailed response I got to my inquiry. We had them cater my daughter's 1st birthday of approx. 50 adults and they were not only competitively priced, but as other reviewers noted very professional, arrived on time, brought all the supplies and equipment they needed and we didn't have to worry about a thing. They were very accommodating of our request for vegetarian options and all of the guests raved about how delicious everything was. I just had Fernando cater a party last saturday - I hired him from a referral from a neighbor, I had not tasted his food only heard he was great, did a great job and food was great. So I crossed my fingers and booked him. Fernando did not disappoint. He came early to set up, set up a nice spread. He is so pleasant and polite. He began cooking right away. I was a little scared because it was going to be a tough crowd due to the strong opinions my guest have of mexican food. Every singe person raved about how good his food was. My boyfriend and I hired Fernando's catering for our son's first birthday on Sunday and not only was the food incredible but the service was nothing less. They arrived promptly at two just like they had promised and got right to setting up/cooking. As the first few people started showing up the food was about done. They had four types of meat Carne asada (steak) chicken, carnitas (pork) and el pastor (also pork), I don't know how they season or marinate their meat but it was all delicious. I love Asada so I definitely filled up on those and some chicken tacos. I'm not a big fan of pork, no matter where I've gone it's always just been eh but their carnitas was actually pretty good. Next to the meat they had grilled onions, jalapeño peppers, and some broccoli. I thought the broccoli was an excellent touch and I loved it! They had sides of rice & beans which my son loved with a little chicken and he is very picky with his chicken. They also had guac, salsa, toppings, and chips. There was definitely enough food for everyone and they even packed up all the left overs at the end and gave you a fifteen minute last call for tacos. People went up I believe for seconds and even thirds yet we still had (have) a lot of leftovers which I am very happy about. They were very happy, friendly and seemed to love their job. I would definitely recommend them and book them again in the future. If you want incredible tacos, good service and friendly people you should do the same. So I needed taco caterer for an upcoming event 2 weeks out. Not having a taco caterer person already in mind I naturally came on Yelp to find one. I came across Fernando's catering and was intrigued by all the raving reviews. Everyone had nothing but nice things to say about the service and quality/taste of the tacos. I got in contact with Fernando and can say it was very easy to communicate with him. He was very helpful and accommodating with the date, time and number of people for my event seeing as how I was making arrangements with short notice. The pricing was great! Fernando showed up with plenty of time to set up and had the tacos ready by the time we agreed. I was anxiously waiting to try the food I had read so much about. Let me just say the tacos were amazing! The meat was cooked to perfection and marinated and prepped with indescribable flavors. Fernando catered my daughter's first birthday party yesterday and the food and service was awesome! We ordered for 50-60 ppl, had about 50 adults and several small kids and there was still plenty of food left over. Many of my guests have requested his information. Not only was the food good, but he was prompt, came in, set-up, and then cleaned up and left the place as if he was never there! Fernando is the best! Today was the second time I have used Fernando for an office lunch party and everyone absolutely loved his tacos and service. His team is always on time and extremely professional. We had a little under 80 people and there was plenty of food and he even left us with tons of leftovers. Like others, I was nervous hiring a taco caterer for the first time, simply because I had read so many negative reviews about other caterers not showing up, etc. But Fernando's Catering is wonderful! I took a chance on them based on their high reviews on Yelp. After working with them, I can't recommend them highly enough. They were very easy to work with and always very responsive via e-mail. On the day of the event (held in Tarzana, CA), Fernando's son and another employee showed up not just on time but 15 minutes even earlier than they were supposed to arrive to set up. The food was excellent, and there were still leftovers for us to keep afterwards, which they packed up for us. We kept getting compliments from our guests on the food, including from my sister-in-law, who is a chef. I also liked how clean and neat everything was, including the servers' attire. The presentation looked very much like in the photos others have posted. And, finally, the employees (and Fernando's son) were so NICE. That struck home with me. (Tip: Make sure you have containers or bags for them to pack any leftovers in afterwards.) read more
