Close to closing time in November

We pulled into Bigfoot country at about 8:15 PM on a Saturday. We were staying at the motel across the street and hadn't eaten since about 1 in the afternoon, so myself, my Celiac partner, and my kids were pretty hungry. An app for gluten-free people said that the Pizza Factory did a decent job of keeping things safe for gluten allergic people, although to be honest, we had the grocery store down the street as our more-than-likely backup plan to get food for her. When we went in, it was dimly lit, but very spacious, and had a lot of cool local items on the wall that spoke to the hunting and fishing aspect of the region. We approached the counter and explained the allergy my partner had. The young man was incredible. He said that he couldn't guarantee a completely gluten-free kitchen, as it was a pizzeria (he gestured about at this, to emphasize, but it was very appropriate and actually rather amusing). He did say, however, that instead of himself and the other kitchen worker preparing the pizza, the employee who was doing prep and clean-up would prep the pizza in an area off to the side and handle all the pizza prep. After we ordered, he called out to everyone to ensure that both the people working in the back knew we had a gluten allergy pizza coming. That was very reassuring and gave my partner a chance to really enjoy her food without anxiety. As to the food itself, it was very good. The pizza was doughy with plenty of cheese and toppings on it. My boys ate quite a bit (with the rest finished off early the next morning). We got an order of breadsticks, which I was not too impressed with because they didn't have much flavor to it, and the sauce cup was the same pizza sauce, but it wasn't bad and it was exactly what I ordered. I would have just preferred a heavier garlicy type taste to them. That being said, that's my preference rather than a failing on behalf of the restaurant. My partner loved her chicken, sun dried tomato, and artichoke pizza, and ate, in her word, "way more than [she] should have, but damn!" The guy also threw in a the sodas for us, because we had driven all day and it was near closing. Great experience, great food, and no safety issues at all. The next time we go Bigfoot hunting around here, we're definitely stopping here for pizza.

I was visiting from out of town and read a few of those negative reviews and decided to go see for myself. I found those reviews to be completely unfair and inaccurate. I was there just yesterday. The staff was polite and friendly. The pizza was great! And it was made quickly. Totally what you'd want from a pizza joint. I would 100% go again. Ignore the bad reviews... pizza and vibe are good here!

I am pretty loyal to the pizza factory franchise. They have some of the best pizza in my opinion. The pizza was just as great at this location but the place has a lot of work to do as far as cleanliness goes. Upon walking in I was pleased at how cold the room was, good AC during summer months there's plenty of tables, good for groups both big and small. The salad bar looked really unappetizing being surrounded by trash, crumbs and the food all over the floor throughout the restaurant. The bathrooms are a just no, worse than a gas station bathroom. It's a convenient stop driving through 299. The staff are friendly, there are arcade games to keep the kids busy.

Really pleasantly surprised by this pizza spot!…read more We were coming down from the Redwoods and saw this place on Yelp. Thankfully, we decided to call an hour ahead. The wait was around 1 hr 15 min when we called around 6 PM, which gave us enough time to check in to our Airbnb and grab some groceries next door. We ordered the Garden Grove vegan pizza. It was my first time trying a vegan pizza, and I thought it was delicious. The pizza was hot when we arrived, the crust was thin, pizza was loaded with toppings, and was flavorful and filling. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Would recommend ordering out as there is little space inside for dining in. Would definitely recommend and come again.

So this place is always packed opens at 3 PM because you know people don't want pizza at lunch,…read morewhat kind of psychopath would want pizza at lunchtime you know. The normal wait time for a pizza here is one to two hours, sometimes even three hours to get a pizza to go. This last visit it was a two hour wait so what I did was pay damn near double and just buy eight slices of the pizzas that were made to be reheated. Instead of paying about 30 bucks for a pizza I ended up paying over $50. That's not even what the complaint is about the cashier was about to give us eight plates for eight slices of pizza when I wanted to take my pizza home. While we were waiting my friend and I got two beers and we were finishing our beers. While we're drinking, our beers here comes the pizza and two small pizza boxes. When the person giving us our pizza boxes saw us drinking our beers he asked do you want me to keep these pizza boxes in the warmer to which my friend and I both replied no thank you we're going to eat some. To which the worker responded extremely rudely and unprovoked wow if you're going to eat it here why would you waste the boxes? Maybe because my friend and I don't wanna eat a whole pizza. We don't wanna wait two hours for you guys to bake a pizza that takes 10 minutes to bake. Maybe if you guys weren't so slow. We could've ordered a normal pizza and got a normal pizza box. Or maybe we should've just got eight plates for eight slices of pizza and juggle them the out of the store to please you guys?... the dude was an absolutely rude, you act as if we're stealing from your children's mouth because we got two to go boxes for eight slices of pizza? I wish I could use the choice words I want to use to describe that worker but yelp will just take the review down. I immediately lost my appetite after the person was so blatantly rude in front of all the other customers. Seriously what is wrong with your employee there what is his issue? The place is constantly packed like a sardine can you cant move around or even sit. The only reason I tolerate the horribly crowded chaotic atmosphere is because their pies are decent, but theyre not decent enough to be belittled and talked down to like a theif for getting two to go boxes from the cashier, the guy was literally pissed off that we were taking up seats in the store and had the audacity to have to go boxes. If you're that upset or worried about people occupying your store, maybe buy yourselves a bigger location or rent a larger location instead of making your customers feel so unwelcome. Or better yet dont hire A holes to work for you and make your customers feel welcome. I loved headies pizza but I wont come back and ill tell everyone about how rude your employee was and it being the reason I refuse to be a patron any longer. DO BETTER. EDUCATE YOUR EMPLOYEES ON HOW TO PROPERLY TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS. To dump on someone over 2 to go boxes, get yourself a horrible review is pathetic... i guess 8 paper plates woulda been the more eco friendly choice.... Or is it the money your business is so concerned about losing? Maybe if you're struggling so hard to provide to go boxes to your customers, you should charge people for to go boxes. That way you don't have to verbally abuse me in front of other customers when I come to eat some food. Its not my problem anymore as again I wont be coming back. 60 dollars and a 15 percent tip to be defecated on by your worker over some to go boxes. What a fabulous dining experience....

The place was pretty busy at 8pm and we sat outside since we had our pup with us. I ordered 3 oysters as an app. I had just read that Humboldt Bay provided a large percentage of the oysters consumed in CA and NV so figured I should order some since we're so close to the source! I was surprised when I slurped it down and it was warm but they were delicious and the sauce on top was very flavorful. (That was my fault for not reading the description well enough; I'm just accustomed to eating oysters chilled) For entree's, I went with the Polenta Veghie lasagna and my husband ordered the Italian Mac n cheese. Both dishes were very good and very filling. I loved the crust of the polenta and the eggplant and cheese filling was delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I was impressed with the coziness and warmth of the interior. Great spot for dinner, I'm glad I chose this restaurant!

We managed to nose our truck into the stall with a bit less room and walked around to the front entrance. Our disabled son has a service dog. She happens to be a standard Poodle that is clearly tagged, working-dog vested in hi-viz optic yellow with 'Service Dog' patches clearly worn and tethered to our son with a matching hi-viz short traffic lead. Imagine our surprise when walking into the restaurant we were told by the woman at the register that the dog was not allowed inside. We would have to put the dog outside on a hook. We politely countered, gesturing to the dog and explaining that as a service dog, she was legally allowed inside, to which the woman again stated that the dog would have to remain outside. On a hook... We chose rather than continue to waste time trying to get a seat or even place an order, to simply leave. We would spend our money elsewhere. FYI: California Vehicle Code - VEH § 22507.8 states that it is unlawful to block the access or use of the handicapped parking like that: https://codes.findlaw.com/ca/vehicle-code/veh-sect-22507-8/ And the ADA has clear direction about service animals and their permitted access in a restaurant setting: https://www.ada.gov/resources/service-animals-2010-requirements/ These are very real legal issues. And we feel that the staff member made a choice to discriminate against us. Rather than raise a complaint with Humboldt County, we just won't return to this place, nor will we recommend eating here.
