I've stopped into Ferran 59 a number of times over the years. I like its location on Ferran Street (the name of the restaurant and the street address are one in the same), one of my favorite walking streets and areas of Barcelona. It's right next to the city square where the Visitor Tourist Information Center is located and various other streets that lead into the more historic sections of Barcelona, art shops and museums as well as some of those sort of off the beaten path but very interesting alley like ways and shops. When you first see Ferran 59 at street level it doesn't look like much, more of a takeout sandwich shop, but go inside and upstairs. That is where the restaurant and dining area are located. Ferran 59 is nothing fancy, noted more as being a tapas type of restaurant. However they have a full and complete menu including such goodies as a "Secret Iberian Pig" with mushrooms and lemon mayonnaise, and a very good seafood paella at reasonable prices. They also serve up one of the better sangrias. On my most recent visit I went for their Veal Entrana with farmer potatoes and chimichurri mayonnaise. The veal was of a good top rib cut they most often refer to as being an entrecote cut. It came perfectly done as ordered and had a very good flavor about it. As I've stated, Ferran 59 is nothing really special, but in my eyes, one of the best for what it is, just being a no frills tapas type of restaurant. Hence, Four Stars.

Worst paella we have tried by far!

I wouldn't recommend it!!! If you're in Barcelona looking for good Paella this is not the place to go!!! Walking by this place it was busy and caught our eyes so we figured to give it a try. By far the worst paella we have ever had, drinks weren't good eitherwe ordered sangria and mojito and we couldn't even finish them cause of how bad they were. I say go try some other places and save yourself the trip! However I will give them2 starts for the quick service

First time visiting Barcelona, had a quick breakfast in Ferran 59, my friend and I ordered a Spanish omelette that came with two sides of bread and your choice of coffee, tea and juice, their orange juice was delicious. My daughter had their churros and hot chocolate which I must say the hot chocolate was the best I had for a while. Now, the service was great and I would definitely go back and recommend it .

Came here for a quick meal after walking the La Rambla. The service was pretty quick. Had a tapa of honey chicken wings with soy sauce (tasty), ordered the bacalao (delicious) and lamb (very tender) with purple potatoes. The local beer and wine were just as good. The price was also reasonable.

This was a very nice place, i sat down with low expectations and left with a happy face. Their daily menu was pretty decent i started with "Habitas a la Catalana" and had a second plate "Entrańa con Salsa de Romero" and finished with a "Tarta de Santiago". Their service is pretty good.

Very flavorful and fast experience. Oxtail and mashed potatoes 10/10: the oxtail meet is so tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes pair so well with the oxtail. Mushroom, steak, and egg yolk 9/10: soo flavorful and balance of veggies and protein. Amazing textures and flavors. Sparkling sangria: 8/10 I don't normally live the taste of alcohol but this was great. Not tooooo strong and if tastes pretty good if you mix it with the orange juice. Fresh orange juice: 10/10 so tangy and delicious. I can't recommend it enough. Patatas bravas: 9/10 solid no complaints! Dessert Tapas: - bread dessert (Tarija): 11/10 amazing dessert that is creamy, cameralized, and has a mochi like texture. This fried chewy dessert is not too sweet and such an affordable price. - coconut pudding 9/10 solid and refreshing if you like flan - bread, chocolate oil, salt 7/10: I live the complex flavors. The chocolate mousse was light and the bread to mousse ratio was perfect. It's a smaller dessert tho I wouldn't recommend it if ur sharing. Service: amazing! Staff I'm everywhere so it was very easy to order more food. Also we were sitting buy the area where they made dessert and they allowed me to record them making it!! Comfortable ambiance great for date night or casual meals!!!

Not only was his service incredible, but he also gave us amazing recommendations for our upcoming trip to Buenos Aires in two weeks. The food was hands-down our best meal in Barcelona. Every dish felt authentic and full of flavor. Our favorites were the accordion-style baked potato topped with creamy aioli and spicy sauce, and the truffle brie toast, which was completely out of this world. To top it all off, the meal ended with a shot of local acorn liquor as we toasted Jordi, our other server, which also made the whole experience feel so special. And shoutout to Flor behind the bar for the fantastic margaritas and sangria! Thank you, Sabastian, Jordi, and Flor for making our Barcelona trip so unforgettable. We'll be talking about this meal for a long time!

The inside of this place js small but has great decor, you feel like your stepping back into medieval times. It's perfectly at home in the gothic quarter. I had the bread to start with the tomato spread, this was very good. The spicy potato was phenomenal, a smothered baked potato in a nice blend of sauces. Then the sea bass and prawns in a coconut milk based soup...the star. Reminded me of a Thai Tom Kha soup. Overall would highly recommend. If I ever return to Barcelona, I will stop in.

The foie gras was absolutely unforgettable--rich, delicate, and simply to die for. The sangria was equally exceptional, fresh, balanced, and dangerously delicious. But what makes this place truly special is something that can't be captured on a menu. The atmosphere, the warmth, the way time seems to slow down... words simply can't do it justice. If you're visiting Barcelona, don't just come here for dinner. Come here to fall in love with the food, the city, the moment, or maybe even someone sitting across the table. An experience I'll never forget.

Well, the restaurant was cute and cozy with a great ambiance. With luck on our side, we found two seats at the bar and quickly ordered drinks. We ordered a pitcher of the sangria (because why not?). The sangria was delicious, refreshing, and made to order. It was definitely more authentic than what we're getting in America. We ordered the patatas bravas, tempura asparagus, the octopus, and the steak. It all came out as it became available. We couldn't decide what our favorite was, to be honest. We ordered an ice cream sandwich for dessert and quickly requested our bill. We didn't want to hold the staff up as we noticed they were cleaning the establishment and people were finishing up. Overall, what a great experience for our first meal in Barcelona! Cute and hidden gem.
