Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had buying a Ferrari. I purchased an SF90 Spider (Atelier spec) from Carlo at Ferrari of Washington about two months ago and even paid an extra $20,000 for the extended warranty. He promised to have the car shipped within 3 days, so I wired the full payment on Monday. He said the car would be loaded by Wednesday -- but it wasn't shipped until the following Saturday. When the car finally arrived, I found a dent under the left door, and the left mirror was shaking badly while driving. Later, I found out it was missing two shock absorber spacers on the left side. After another month, the low-voltage battery failed, and I had to arrange another tow to replace it. This car supposedly went through a "Ferrari 101 inspection" -- what a joke. Once the payment was wired, Carlo basically stopped responding to my messages. Overall, an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience. Avoid this dealership at all costs. read more

*PLEASE READ IMPORTANT* I called this dealership to ask about a Ferrari SF90, and from start to finish it was the worst experience I've ever had buying a car. When I first spoke to Ron, he was rude from the start. I told him I was an all-cash buyer ready to wire the money the same day if we could agree on a fair price. I only asked for a small discount as a gesture of good faith, but he refused and got nasty when I showed him other official Ferrari dealers offering better deals. After days of no response, I finally spoke to the manager, Carlo, who was polite and professional. We came to an agreement, and I wired over $500,000 within 15 minutes. I also paid another $20,000 for the extended warranty and extra for PPF, all in full the same day. Then came delivery -- an absolute nightmare. The car was picked up Friday and was supposed to arrive Sunday. I paid extra for that, but the driver didn't show. At 10 PM Sunday he asked to deliver the car at midnight, which I declined since I needed to inspect it in daylight. He promised to come the next morning at 11am but never did. Later I saw the truck leaving my neighborhood without contacting me. The dispatcher said the driver gave up, drove 25 minutes away, and asked me to go get the car myself. When I arrived, the car was unloaded on a random street, no driver in sight. Ferrari and the transport company were zero help. To make things worse, the key battery was dead when I finally got the car. When I called the dealership afterward, I asked, "After an experience like this, would you expect me to ever buy another car from you?" Any reasonable dealer would've admitted they messed up and tried to make it right. Instead, they told me that if they were in my position, they would still buy another car from themselves. That response said it all. This was supposed to be a special experience, and they completely ruined it. Horrible experience from start to finish. Stay far away. read more

I live right next to Maserati of Tysons and would usually go there for service. I wasn't happy at all with the way they treated me nor their service, so I decided to drive the extra 15 miles and give FoW a try. My car had an unidentified rattle coming from the gauge cluster area, which I've tried to show Maserati of Tysons on three separate occasions, and each time they "could not detect the sound" despite it being clearly audible. What a waste of my time. I dropped off my car to FOW here on Friday, by first thing Monday morning they had texted me saying that they have been able to reproduce the sound and will be working on fixing it. It's now Thursday and I just drove the car home, they managed to completely fix the rattle and some other issues that I didn't even know the car had, all under warranty. Through the entire process they were very communicative, helpful, nice, and knowledgeable. When I used to bring it to Maserati of Tysons, my car would be gone for over a month usually for minor repairs and I wouldn't hear anything the entire time. The one drawback is that they could not produce a loaner car for me, nor a rental. This isn't necessarily their fault, as they had been scaled back from corporate down to two loaner cars and both were out, but it would've been nice to have a loaner car as I really needed it. Needless to say, it was a way better experience than Maserati of Tysons. If you need any work done on your Maserati or Ferrari, I would bring it here. read more

I took a chance and bought the car I was looking for since they made it clear that a lot of their buyers were from out of state. I made a BIG mistake! Dear Maserati: You appear in my dreams and fantasies on a regular basis. Not only that, but you are the only cross-over between my dreams and my financial planning reality. ( I assure you, I do not fetishize mortgage pay off dates and Maryland munis). If my kids piss me off any more they can kiss their college education good bye and I am coming over with the cash for a Quattroporte. Or at least that was how I threatened the kids until the sad day I actually did decide to come and see you guys. I love Maserati. I love the Quattroporte, even if the 3 middle aged English wankers on Top Gear pronounce it the best car in the world - praise from those clowns does not turn me off. Citroen owned the company in the early 70s and apart from coming up with the SM almost drove the company into the ground. They weren't in America for the 80s and the 90s until the last few years, when the 2 door Campiocorsa with its race-style paddle shift and jizz-in-your-pants acceleration came on the market and brought the company back into the limelight. I recently test drove a used Campiocorsa in Spotsylvania and I have never driven anything like it. Amazing. Only problem was my 6'4" frame was not too comfortable in the 2 door convertible and there was no room for one set of golf clubs in the back never mind two. What's the freakin' point of having this car if I cannot drive it to the golf club? The Campiocorsa was swiftly followed by the 4 door sedan Quattroporte, the first version had transmission issues, the latest version solved them and rightfully claims the mantle of the finest 4 door car money can buy. So, imagine my surprise when I get an invitation from Maserati to take a test drive. And just for showing up they will send me $120 of Omaha steaks. It's a no-lose proposition right? That's what I thought, but sadly I lost everything. I lost my dreams, I lost my fantasies. I lost all hope. The dealer is only a couple of miles from my office. I call to make an appointment. I come over. SIGN THAT I AM ABOUT TO BE TREATED LIKE SHIT #1: Sales guy immediately says: " look, I do not have much time, I have another customer coming in in a little while to negotiate a deal" SIGN THAT I AM BEING TREATED LIKE SHIT #2: " So, what sort of car do you currently drive?" SIGN THAT I AM BEING TREATED LIKE SHIT #3: " So do you actually know anything about these cars?" THE FINAL INDIGNITY: " Look, are you here for the special offer or do you really want a test drive?" Of course I should have lied, I should have shown off my knowledge of the cars and the 05 transmission issues, I should have quoted from the reviews and talked about the Citroen ownership. I should not have told him the sad truth that the only way I can buy one of these is if I sell all three children to some dodgy central European or Saudi Arabian, and even though there are some days when that is a very tempting prospect it is probably illegal, and The Honey would not like it. Well, no test drive for me, and the corporate marketing initiative took a fan of the product and turned me into Disgusted of Chevy Chase MD. I got treated like shit by a wanker of a sales guy, they did send me the steaks and the steak were good, but I lost the dream of a Maserati, and I also lost a pretty convincing threat to the kids - now I will have to resort to physical violence against them again. We are in the process of trying to purchase a used Maserati with Ferrari of Washington. Having owned every luxury car under the sun, I can safely say that we have very specific expectations of how we want to be treated at a premium dealership, and Ferrari of Washington is falling VERY short. I applied for pre-qualification via their website, and promptly received a phone call from a salesperson who was very nice but identified me by the wrong name, and kept saying "morning" although it was afternoon. Picky? Maybe, but I expect a certain attention to detail when I'm looking to buy a freaking MASERATI. He sent me over a credit application to complete, but I had already completed it on the web, and I told him as much. He did not respond to me until the following day when he emailed me wanting to know where the credit app was. I forwarded him the email where I explained that I had already completed it online, but he did not seem to understand what I was talking about. Fed up, I contacted the Business Manager to see whether or not his service would be any better and it was not. I explained the situation to him and he told me that their credit approval form online is '"generic" and that the information on there is not enough to generate an approval. I asked him why it was on their website and still his response was all but unintelligible, he certainly did not have a good reason for them to be advertising "PRE-QUALIFY NOW" when in fact, you may NOT do any such thing. I find it extraordinarily strange that I completed an application that included my address, work history and income, AND my social security number, yet that is not enough to generate an approval. At this point I'm irritated but willing to give him the benefit of the doubt so I completed the credit application he sent me and emailed it back to him. He responded that he would get to work on it right away...4 hours later no response, AND he hasn't even ran my credit. Are these people too busy to sell cars? Do they have SO much to do that they can ignore qualified customers who may or may not want to just PAY CASH, depending on financing terms? I do not know what is going on over there but if you're really serious about buying a Maserati, Ferrari, or anything else they happen to have on their lot...just know that YOU might be serious about purchasing but THEY are not serious about selling. *Edited to reflect ONE STAR. Finance got back to me and determined that, despite 740+ credit scores, we only qualify for a 7.9 interest rate. I immediately provided them with an approval for a much lower rate with Bank of America (which I should not have to have done myself- that's the point of a finance manager.) I emailed the GSM to complain and he never bothered to return a call or email. So, we purchased a different car from a different dealer. That being said - I've been trucking out to the Ferrari dealer for years to gather up Formula 1 gear, chat racing occasionally with the sales staff, and basically ogle all the pretty cars. Everyone I've ever talked to out there is soooo very nice, even though I'm there just as a race fan and not an owner. Have been a customer of FoW for the past 5 years. Started with Maserati and bough a few Ferraries (used and new) along the way. Most recent purchase was 488 Spider. My 1st encounter was 5 years ago with a Maserati sales person (left after less than 12 months working there) and was not a good one. Soon after, I met Amir one day walking around with my father-in-law. We were not "dressed" well and that did not stop Amir to warmly greet us and talk with us. Amir helped me resolved the issue I had promptly and professionally. Over the years, Amir became the sales mgr and he handles all my transactions. Maserati and Ferrari service was not good 5 years ago and that changed when they hired Greg couple years ago. Within the last 12 month they added Will and Latitia and other staff members. All have been great. They talk to you regardless who you are, how you are dressed and what you can afford. Always nice to see smiling faces (especially Will) and a sincere interest in you not only as a customer but a friend. I appreciate their efforts hiring awesome employees and (in my opinion) made a wonderful strides in improving the overall dealership experience. I would definitely recommend them. The receptionist, sales and service staff were very friendly and helpful, especially my sales representative, Carlo Sandrin, who was absolutely outstanding. Carlo was extremely responsive and patient with helping me through the options selection process and paperwork. In addition to his patience, Carlo has the unique skill of really knowing the combination of options that will bring out the best in the color you choose for the car. In addition, there were times when Carlo would recommend not to include a more expensive option because it did not visually appeal with the color choice or other option selections of the car, which is a virtue not found in many salesman. Carlo also made himself available 24/7 to any question or concerns that I had, and was very flexible to last minute changes that I wanted on some options. He was also very timely in responding to my multitude of inquiries. For a dealership of this caliber, the service department is a disgrace. Had a recent incident there, which was handled in a manner that was dishonest, patronizing and completely discourteous. Both the service advisor and the service manager were a 'team' that went out of their way to diffuse a situation without any attempt to accept fault. The service manager, Brian, is not to be trusted. I finally spoke with the general manager, who did apologize profusely, which I accepted, but this did not negate the experience I had. I cannot say that I would never use this dealer in the future, but I surely will not do any business with them as long as the current service manager and service advisor are still working there. read more

Bought a beautiful California model. At the time and before paying I was told of providing a loaner car, not Ferrari loaner but Maserati, when my car came to the shop for servicing. The other option was having someone to come and pick up the car at my residence or office. The time came when I needed those services. To my surprise I found out what another reviewer found. The loaner was a rental thru Hertz and the pickup simply they will call the towing company to arrange for it at my cost. In summary, you can't trust what the salesman tells you unless have it in writing. My friends with high priced cars, Bentleys, Mercedes,as well as Ferrari from other dealerships get these services as courtesy. What a way to lose a client. To the salesman at Ferrari of Washington, please don't call me to trade my car. I will never get a car from you instead I will go somewhere else regardless of distance. read more

Terrible buying experience from these people. Purchased a Maserati and the sales process has been a joke. They lost the plates from my trade-in. They bungled the plate transfer process--as I write this I still have temp tags after 45 days, They let me leave the dealership without insurance. There was damage to the rims that was not disclosed before I made the 10 hour trip to get the car. When I got the car home I noticed that the coat hanger was missing leaving an open hole! When I brought this to their attention they made ZERO effort to make it right. I ended up having to order and pay for a $50 piece of plastic! Just a pitiful excuse for high end car buying. I was at the Maserati/Ferrari dealership in Sterling, VA. I came in inquiring about a Maserati Ghibli and Carlo Sandrin was the sales rep. Carlo provided the worst customer experience I have ever experienced, he was very condescending and he questioned my ability to buy the car. I told him I was leaning towards buying a BMW, Mercedes, or the Maserati and I wanted to get an idea of all that Maserati has to offer before I made my decision, that seemed to tick him off, so then he started giving me his sleazy sales pitch about how he will lower the price to get me in the car today after I told him multiple times that I will take my time no matter how much you lowered the price.. Before answering any my questions he jumped straight to the numbers and and started questioning if I could afford the car. Then I kept my cool and asked to test drive the Maserati anyway, then he lies to my face and says we don't allow anyone to test drive. I came into the Ferrari dealership with my brother last month and we both test drove the Ferrari and I even mentioned that to him and he said then someone messed up, as I was walking inside someone had just finished a test drive on a Maserati. Anyway after I insisted I wanted to test drive he said let me go ask my manager and afterwards he comes back and says I will be the one driving not you, I told him how can I buy a car I have not driven and he said doesn't matter only I can drive, at the point I was beyond angry and I walked out.I will never give my business to Maserati again as this is no way to act towards a customer. I went into BMW and Mercedes afterwards and they were both more then happy to let me test drive their C63 AMG and BMW M3. I am not the type to send complaints but this has ticked me off to another level. read more
