I'm amazed this place is rated so high. The food was so gross. Our pasta was bland and over salted and the bread tasted like it was a few days old and serviced with herb-margarine. It's also INCREDIBLY expensive for what you get. An app, 2 plates of pasta & two Italian soda... $87. The portions were also small for a $27 plate of pasta. My brother got the seafood fettuccine and literally got 4 shrimp and 2 clams... again for like $30. If you want good pasta go to Tavolota downtown. Had dinner here with a group for a birthday. The atmosphere is a bit dark and uneventful for an Italian restaurant. The service was superb and the food was really good. The portions are good and our waitress refilled our bread three times, which is amazing. I had the seafood fettuccine and the Alfredo was very creamy, buttery, and cheesy. A really nice Alfredo. We were in town for a convention, knew nothing about this place. The wait staff are wonderful. Attentive and personable. I left a 30% tip, which is difficult for me. The meal was perfect. We ordered salads for starters. Crisp lettuce, simply made with tomatoes, red onion, olives and peppers, topped with a wonderful house Italian. The bread was beautiful, but the best part was the house butter, whipped with fresh herbs and a simple oil and vinaigrette dip. I ordered the Veal Parmesan. The pasta was good quality and cooked perfectly. The house marinara was well balanced, not too acidic or too sweet. The veal... oh the veal! True veal, not beef steak tenderized and passed as veal....true veal! Cooked to perfection with the right amount of breading. The cheeses used were creamy in texture, not clumpy and over cooked. Our first visit, by our friends choice to try some place new, and we went on a Saturday night at 6:30 pm. Ferraro's was packed, which is always a good sign on a Saturday night when you are trying a new place. Dining Room: The restuarant is split in half with one dining room on one side and another dining room on the other. Both are not that big with booths along the windows and tables in the middle. The inside carries on the same rustic wood vibe from the outside. Service: It was a busy night with a wait list and it looked like their was only two servers to cover tables packed full of people. Service was a little slow but our waitress, who was being run ragged but very nice and apologetic, was doing her best with the amount of people, food, and drinks having to come out. Our server was also our bartender so I know she was doing double the duties that night. We didn't mind too much since we had great company and had each ordered a couple of drinks to make it through the meal. Food: Appitizers: The four of us had the bruschetta, calamari, and mozzarella sticks to start off. All of our appetizers were large and tasty. They give you a great amount of bruscetta fixings and the mozzarella sticks are huge and crispy. Main Courses: We all got a different pasta dish and were impressed with the presentation and the quality of the meal. Everyones sauce was well seasoned and packed full of every item listed on the menu. The salads that they give you with your meal were a tad too big for me but my husband devoured his. The bread basket with the whipped garlic butter and the oil was amazing. We all are huge fans of the butter! We visited on a night that had only one server. She was Fantastic! I have worked retail and in restaurants. I know how stressful it is to be shorthanded. The food was amazing. The canopes were fresh and so flavorful. I had the chicken parm and my husband had the seafood fettuccine. His shrimp were a little small, but it is winter time during covid, so it is understandable. Immediately entering the restaurant, I was warmly greeted by the "Brothers Ferraro", first generation sibs from the motherland. The ambience of the place was warm, inviting, nostalgic. The food? What can I say... The best authentic Italian I've had in a while. The menu is quite tempting- wanted the chicken piccata but also wanted their famous angel hair and homemade red sauce. So Chef agreed to make them both for me! Chicken piccata was spot on- perfect marriage of lemon, capers and spices with chicken that was tender and moist. The Frutti di Mare was my friend's choice and boy was I jealous!! HUGE Alaskan crab legs, scallops, shrimp- all for a reasonable price considering the portion size and quality of seafood!!! What a fun and relaxed experience. We arrived before 6pm so a happy hour deal included a free appetizer, a choice between calamari, mozzarella sticks, bruschetta and fried ravioli. We were in the restaurant with our kids so this was a great surprise! The service was very prompt and friendly. A+! Each adult entree came with soup or salad and bread with a compound butter. Full disclosure - Been here 3 times in past 2 yrs (business traveler), hoping it'd get better because the people seem nice - but it hasn't. Married to an Italian, we just spent a month in Campania, we KNOW italian food.) Nice people that own/run this - Place was dead on a Friday night - several things need fixing: - Caesar Salad: House salad (spinach, tom, cuke, red onion) with a little plastic cup of Caesar dressing on top of it - IS NOT A CAESAR SALAD. When I sent it back, the server didn't even 'get' what was wrong... because she really don't know what a caesar salad is? Fix this - simple - 2 min toss/serve romaine, dressing, croutons, a little shred asiago? - Meat sauce - Sauce tasty, but way too much meat, almost like sloppy joe consistency - bad. The actual flavor of the sauce wasn't bad - just way too much meat. - Pasta packaged? Sure didn't seem fresh, not great. Pasta in an italian restaurant should taste 'WOW.' - Ambiance - Dark wood (probably needs brightening?) but lighting WAY too bright at night for a restaurant. - Noise - but a bit disconcerting to come in for a dinner a little after 8 on a Friday night (it was dead) and see/hear the staff commenting about cleaning up, closing and getting out of there - which was followed by the vaccuum being run around for about 10-15 mins. This happening while (apparently) one of the lead cooks/chefs sat at the bar near me apparently oblivious to how/why this might impact negatively to a customer. I saw the sign for all-you-can-eat pasta yesterday & decided Sunday would be a good day to try out this restaurant. The décor is very tasteful. Upon first entering, I felt a bit under-dressed in my shorts & T-shirt. I got sticker-shock when I saw the sheet of specials - all over $20/plate, but was glad to see dishes within my price range inside the menu. My husband asked our waitress, Argentina, about the all-you-can-eat pasta since it wasn't on the menu. Argentina said for $9.95 each we could have our fill of spaghetti, penne, or fettuccine topped with tomato sauce, alfredo, or browned butter with myzithra. To start, my husband ordered the penne with browned butter. For $2 extra, I got to try the spicy clam sauce on spaghetti. Our meal came with our choice of soup or salad - my husband chose salad while I ordered the chicken noodle soup. Our starters arrived quickly. My husband's salad came with Italian dressing on the side in a plastic cup. It was topped with olives & banana peppers. My husband really liked the dressing. My soup was made with the small acini de pepe noodles with lots of peas & carrots - it was delicious! We also got a basket of sliced crusty bread along with a shallow dish of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The olive oil was buttery, and the vinegar - poured in a decorative design - was fruity and thick, almost a syrup. Our first plates of pasta arrived - they were large! The spicy clam sauce was indeed spicy, but delicious. My husband also liked his penne. I was pretty full just from that one plate, but I decided to press my luck & order a plate of penne with tomato sauce. For his second dish, my husband got the spaghetti with tomato sauce. Our second plates were about half the size of our first plates, which was fine by me. I finished it with gusto & ordered another just like it. My husband's third plate was fettuccine alfredo. When it arrived, we were pleasantly surprised that the alfredo sauce was seasoned with nutmeg, an authentic touch. By this time, we were full - but there's always room for a dish of spumoni ice cream! My only complaint is that the penne needed more tomato sauce than what was served. Still, I think our search for a good Italian place here in Spokane is over - we'll be back! read more

This review is more about the people who run Ferraro's than the food or service. The location is perched on north division, and is a prime viewing location for the downtown Spokane 4th of July fireworks display. Some businesses do not appreciate a full parking lot of fireworks watchers. Ferraro's not only didn't ask people to leave, but they brought platter after platter of meatballs from the restaurant out to feed those parked solely for the purpose of fireworks viewing. We love Ferraros! The food is delicious. The meat sauce and lasagna are our favs. You get salad, bread and ice cream with your meal which is really nice. They give you butter and a plate of olive oil and balsamic for the bread, so delicious! The service is quick and always nice and friendly. My favorite thing about this restaurant is the owner Jason. He gives back to the community in so many ways. This last year he held a fund raiser dinner that paid off all of the over due lunch accounts for students in district 81. Ahhh... Italian food. Such flavored. Smell the garlic, the freshness. Pasta, shrimp, clam and more. Mama Mia I am hungry! Well, Mama Mia just turned over in her grave. I started with steamed clams. The dish came. But what was this placed in front of me? Small clams resting in a bowl of a melted stick of butter! Where was the clam juice, garlic, white wine. It was all butter that you couldn't even see the clams. It was a disaster. It was an insult. It was terrible. Salad. It was just a salad. At least it was fresh. Dressing was a spoon full of Italian that wouldn't cover a leaf. It was bottled as well. Not even homemade dressing. Shameful. Main course. I wanted a light linguine sauce. Butter, garlic, white wine type of thing. Sorry, forgot what it was labeled in menu. What came out was some watery red sauce from a can. Capers? The menu said capers. None to be found. Tip the plate sideways and see all the watery red. This was, plainly, just gross. And there was chicken in it. Why? And it was from frozen chicken fingers that were dry and tasteless. Who is this chef? When you get cheap prices does it mean cheap, can, jar and frozen food. Never again will I go to this place. It was an embarrassment for me and my friends. The good part... Great service and attention. Our server kept apologizing for the meal and tried to correct it but the chef was a failure on all accounts. Stay away.
