Kind of an old style restaurant but it's clean and the service is good. Greeted and seated right away with menus. I know the Salty Dog in Deer Park is kind of known for their fish & chips but the we think the First Street Bar and Grill's are better. The fish is lightly battered in a Mac & Jack's beer batter then cooked perfectly so that it's crisp and not greasy at all. The fries are awesome, too - crisp and golden brown and not greasy. Zip's in Spokane used to have great fish & chips but we hadn't had them for some time. What we recently found was 4 pieces of greasy fish the size of Chicken McNuggets and mostly limp fries. We stopped in there for lunch because we were told that it was really good. Noticed right off bat it was comfortable. They were busy but it was not crowded. They seated us and gave us menus. There was several good choices. I ended up getting a mushroom burger and French fries. Everything was cooked perfectly just as I requested. They give you lots of food, more then I could eat. 2nd visit...first time was Christmas Eve....GREAT service! Ellie was fantastic! Food was ok. Steak was a little chewy. Our visit today was for breakfast. Again service was GREAT! we both had Omlets. They also were just ok.....nothing special. I had a multiple meat omelet, the sausage in it had a very odd flavor, not agreeable. Wife had the Mediterranean Omlet. The food and service at First Street Bar and Grill was very good but the prices were a bit high. My disabled adult son likes the food there but he does not have a lot of extra money to spend. He likes the basic cheeseburger and fries which is $19.99 . Basically the same thing is available at Applebees for $13.59. I gave on "OK" rating and would have given it a "Good" but one thing troubled me about the dining experience. For the first time I can ever recall, (i'm 70) a restaurant charged me $1.00 for the take out box. Now I looked up info on the particular take out box. It is made by Choice products and is the 500MF933 container. The "933" describes that it is 9" by 9" and 3" deep. I looked this container up online and quickly got results from a site called Webstaurant. They didn't seem to have that exact container but had one with the same model number, only it had 3 compartments. The one we got from First Street Grill had no compartments. Webstaurant's price for a case of 150 of these was $28.99 or 19.3 cents each. The one with no compartments is probably cheaper but let's go with the 19.3 cents. When First Street charges $1.00 for this, it is a markup of over 500%. I would encourage First Street to rethink this unprecedented action of first of all even charging the customer for the take out box, and secondly making a huge profit on it . My son will still want to eat at First Street Bar and Grill and I will take him but I will also be bringing in my own take out box. read more

Mary and I ate here for the first-time last week. The interior is nice and clean and has a cozy feel. We were immediately greeted by friendly staff and seated. We both ordered a tasty beverage that came right out. Mary had the spaghetti with brown butter and mizithra cheese, she had a cup of claim chowder to go with it; both were very tasty. I had a starter salad, which was standard, and the prime rib dip; the prime rib was very tender and flavorful, the bread was slightly crusty on the outside but soft and fresh inside, this was a very good sandwich. read more

EVERY TIME! EVERY doggon time! The staff is friendly! The wait is short! The food is great! ....even the BATHROOMS are clean! I've gone back several times...we go to Les Schwabb for tire work (farmers have LOTS of tires) and we almost always go across to eat while waiting. In Deer Park you just can't beat the First Street Bar and Grill. I gave up the drinking in bars scene many years ago but it's such a nice place I am just assuming that it would be nice in there as well! Prices are reasonable and the wait staff can't be topped! Was promptly seated, told the waitress would be notified I was there, and that was the last interaction I had. Sat while I watched a table of 5 get seated and then immediately serviced by the waitress - no big deal, figured she'd get their drink orders then come my way. Nope. She got their drinks, took their food orders, then was gone again. Saw her across the restaurant setting up some tables. I have lunch or dinner several times a month. The food and service are always excellent. My only issue is selecting which of the menu items it will be on each visit. We took a party of six to lunch. Never again. We waited over 40 minutes for food to come and it was a disaster. One salad had lots of brown lettuce. The hamburger was way over cooked. The French fries were over done and tasteless (the oil used to cook them should have been changed long ago). The fish was over cooked and dry. A much needed restaurant in Deer Park! Have eaten there twice since the opening. The food (prime rib) was excellent each time. My wife had fettuccine once and the country fried steak the other time and all was of great quality and value. A very affordable meal. We have been in this area for some 30 years and have seen this location under 3-4 different ownerships and this is by far the best. Met the owner (Halil) as he made his rounds to the customers one evening. A very friendly gentleman and very welcoming. We are so happy to see a nice, newly remodeled and clean place to enjoy dinner in Deer Park. The drinks are average but could be stiffened a tad for my likes.
