We entered Katy Mills Mall at entrance #1, Ferso's is right inside the mall. The restaurant was very clean, and the workers were very welcoming and friendly. We ordered potato flautas and carne asada tacos. My husband liked the tacos. There was a lot of tasty, good quality meat. They went out of the way to package my flautas so they wouldn't be soggy. Great job! My flautas were extra crisp and crunchy. So delicious. I loved all of the condiments (and how well they were packaged) and it made for a very tasty meal. Lots of variety on the menu too. This place is worth the trip if you want great food, in a nice restaurant, with nice, friendly people. read more

Ate here for the first time this evening. I was a little apprehensive about dining in at a resturant just yet but the staff was amazing and very attentive. They kept the resturant clean and patrons were spaced apart. And the food was delicious! The menu has some vegetarian friendly options which made my whole day. Don't hold it against this place that it's in a mall. Just go, it's great! Why? Here's why: homemade yummy roasted tomato salsa, homemade yummy chips, awesome birria plate, great shrimp tacos, cactus salad(get a small), enchilada in green sauce! That's all we've had in our two visits. But everything is made in house and based on what we've had, pretty certain everything else would be great too. This is a locally owned and operated real deal. Absolutely delicious! My husband didn't want to go because it's in the mall, but he's singing praises over their enchiladas and we are still driving home. "The verde sauce is unbelievable!" (It's true). I had the pulled pork sandwich and it is melt-in-your-mouth good. Ordered the tres leches to-go and it looked so delicious I took a bite before we left our seats. It did not disappoint. We saw this was highly rated and we were near the mall, so we have it a shot. At first I didn't realize it was actually in the mall and thought it was little strange, but I am sure glad we went! Everything was excellent. Immediate, attentive service. The freshly fried chips were warm, crispy and seasoned perfectly with an excellent salsa. We got the birria taco plate which was fantastic; the jus was elaborately flavored with warm spices. We had three other tacos and all were well seasoned and distinctly different. Really surprised at how good this was. I'm usually sketchy about stand alone, sit down restaurants inside malls that aren't fast food, especially mexican ones but this was super good and AUTHENTIC. Of course prices are just Slightly high but I get that it's because of the location inside a mall, but still it wasn't that that bad. Owner was super nice and came to explain the menus to us and said that he was certain the food would surpass our expectations and well, we wasn't lying. Wife had the sopes (beef and tinga de pollo) both were delicious. I had tacos. The beef was great, the cochinita pibil was the best thing, and the rajas con crema was just ok. Overall we enjoyed the food. Super fast service and food was hot. Good stuff Only thing that sucks about this mall in general is that there's never any phone service and the free mall WiFi is terrible. Maybe they could offer WiFi??? That way people can check in. But that's on the mal and not this place. Def will try it again next time I come. read more

Pleasant surprise in Katy Mills Mall. I ordered salmon with mango habenero salsa. It was delicious. I only wish they had asked me how I wanted my salmon. I prefer medium well. Salmon is easy to dry out. That's my only suggestion. The place is clean and service was pleasant and prompt. I recommend this restaurant and will return. read more

My husband and I went to this restaurant for the first time today. The food is absolutely the best! We were greeted as we entered by who I believe was the owner. She was very cordial and because we were unfamiliar with the menu she showed us pictures which helped a lot. Believe me the pictures were helpful but didn't do it justice. The food was eloquently presented. The restaurant is small but clean and nice. The serving dishes and silverware was that of an upscale restaurant. The stainless steel forks and knives were highly polished, not the cheap flimsy quality of many restaurants. My husband ordered Alambre Fersos and I ordered Pechuga at Chipotle. Highly recommend both of those. The margarita's were the best. We will be back! read more

Everything is homemade and the presentation is great. Fernando (owner) is one of the nicest men and takes great pride in his food and service. Last visit, Fernando spent a few minutes with us going over the menu (with photos) and the history behind the dishes. Mexican beer and wine are great. We are looking for their Mexican white wine for our cellar at home. My wife and I will only eat Mexican food here and look forward to trying everything on the menu. Don't let the mall location scare you. Right inside door number 1 at Katy Mills Mall and the restaurant is a beautiful bight location. I figured ordering a taco you would get normal taco toppings, ya know lettuce, tomatoes, maybe some cheese. Nahh apparently you gotta write instructions for every taco individually. I stopped into Ferso's recently with my family and was pleasantly surprised to find deliciously authentic Mexican food at Katy Mills Mall. The owners were extremely gracious as well as helpful with suggestions while we navigated the menu. We had originally decided to try a few tacos, but after discovering how incredibly flavorful they were settled on ordering some tortas and plantains as well. The creme sauce on the tortas was absolutely to die for. Further, I absolutely loved the touch with the homemade salsas, which complemented our meal perfectly. Tex-Mex is delicious and satisfying in its own way, but sadly does not do justice the many tantilizing flavors that is Mexican cuisine for which I am excited to have found this incredible gem.
