Went to Boa with my friend for a girls night! We really enjoyed the atmosphere. We got seated at a round booth which was comfy and cute. My friend is vegan which was a major reason we wanted to try this spot due to Boa having a vegan steak on the menu. Our waiter mentioned it had gotten taken off the menu then re added so if you're going for the vegan steak I would definitely call to make sure it's still on the menu when you're trying to go. I got the NY strip steak cooked medium. It was good but I wasn't WOW'd. I do think I had high expectations with all of the hype around Boa. My family went to Boa to celebrate my brother's graduation and we had a wonderful time! Let's start with service. Everyone was so kind and efficient, but hats off to our waitress, Leanne! She truly went above and beyond to make my brother feel special and celebrated. She brought out little virgin piña colada flutes for us to toast his achievement, and she even surprised him with a complimentary dessert to mark the occasion. Leanne was incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout the entire meal, and it was so lovely that other staff members also took the time to check in on us and chat with my brother about his graduation. The food was just as amazing as the service. The tableside Caesar salad was a really cool experience, and our steaks were cooked perfectly--everything was seasoned and flavorful. We finished the night with the cookie dessert, which was absolutely incredible. The overall vibe was really relaxed. We sat outdoors so we had ocean views and the weather was perfect. They had heaters on in the evening. Indoors was pretty packed as we were leaving but the ambiance was great. About a few times a year when we travel to stay cay in Santa Monica (not far away from SB), I love coming to Boa for a few select items- their Wagyu meatballs, Shrimp Scampi, Delicious Scallops and their "Clean" Martini. Boa is a must go! I can't believe they even had a happy hour menu! We ate by the bar to see their happy hour menu but only end up getting the tuna tacos, which were delish but miniature to our appetite. Fresh tuna all gone in one bite. We end up ordering the bone marrow with short rib, hamachi crudo, Wagyu meatball. It was perfect portions of food for both of us. The bone marrow with short rib is nothing to skip! Omgoodnesss that bone marrow was seasoned well and on point. Best bone marrow I've had in a long time! Short rib was so tender and went so well with the bone marrow and mini crostini bread. We definitely killed this. No one should ever miss out on this in any Boa. We even had this in Vegas and it's really their signature dish. The Wagyu meatball was also delish. Nice fatty flavor. Hamachi crudo was light, fresh, and tasty. The ultimate star of the end of the show was this sticky toffee pudding cake with salted caramel ice cream. I've had sticky toffee pudding in other steakhouses and restaurants. The best I've had was at Hell's Kitchen; however that was put to shame after having this here at Boa! The bartenders were saying that the English chef used his family recipe on this one. By GOLLY WIZ, it was absolutely exquisite! The cake was super fluffy, warm, and not dense like others I've had. It wasn't too sweet and it went so well with the salted caramel ice cream. Absolutely heavenly. This will take #1 in my book. Service here was amazing! Ryan and Mark at the bar were so nice and always checking up on us. Great customer service and very welcoming! I love how the menu had nonalcoholic options. This was such a nice experience. The staff was so friendly and attentive. This is not a cheap dinner place so be prepared to spend. Party of 4 our bill was over $500. Food was delicious. The wine was some of the best I've ever had. My one complaint would be they offer a suggestion to enhance your milk but don't tell you there is an additional cost for that suggestion. We have been coming to BOA for years. They have had vegan options for awhile thankfully but now they have recently added a vegan steak plate with fries which is so good! Right now they have a couple vegan options such as the cauliflower tempura, Thai curry, beyond steak, and smashed broccoli. Other steakhouses should learn from BOA and have some vegan options so we all can enjoy the food together. The service is always amazing here as well. Love that the dress code is not as strict as the West Hollywood location. It's nice to just walk around the beach in athletic shoes and come eat here after. read more

It's never happened to me! I swear, please believe me! I've heard that it can happen to some guys from time to time but never to me. However, it did happen to me, in front of my beautiful date. She said that it was ok and that it can happen to any guy but it did not quell my embarrassment or shame. It lead me to asking questions like, "Am I really a man or just a boy?" The day started off perfectly enough, I took my lovely lady friend to BOA and we planned on eating a medieval portion of food, while gazing at the beach from our patio seats. I ordered a vodka martini for myself and a diet coke for my guest and went right ahead into ordering the food. We ordered like people who had not seen food in a while, it started with the Truffle Mac N Cheese, Roasted Bone Marrow, Ceviche, Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Peppers, The Bone-In Kansas City Filet, and Ribeye along with a Lobster Tail to share. While we waited for our food, we drank, we laughed, we flirted and we drank some more, martinis for me and diet coke's for my lady of that day. When the food arrived both of us beamed at all the deliciousness in front of us and were sure that we would need to-go boxes at the end of our meal. We ate and drank like war heroes returning from battle and as the conversation continued to flow, the manager of the restaurant started to approach the table ominously. Once he had arrived he delivered some surprising news to me, when he said, "Sir, unfortunately we're going to have to cut you off." Surprised I responded, "Cut me off from what?" The answer to that question my friends, was martinis. Apparently I had drank 6 martinis in a span of 60 minutes and they would not serve me a 7th. Sure I was perfectly behaved and that manager wasn't my mother but I was put on the naughty list, just because the bartender makes weak drinks. Slightly embarrassed but without a buzz we decided to pay our bill and take a walk on the beach, where I had buried a flask of whiskey in the sand. I'm sure the beach won't cut me off, although the lifeguards and police officers might be able to. The good news is that alcohol makes you hungry and everything at BOA was delicious, so there was no food left over to take home after our meal. We flew down to LA just to try BOA Steakhouse for my mom's birthday after hearing so many amazing reviews--and it beyond exceeded our expectations. We started with the Boa Fusion cocktail, which was sweet, strong, and sooo good. Then we ordered the table Caesar salad, and even for three people it was more than enough. For the main course we got the Australian Wagyu ribeye with sautéed mushrooms, paired with the Boa "boujee" twice-baked potato and Brussels sprouts. The steak was melt-in-your-mouth good--tender, flavorful, and honestly exceeded my expectations for steak anywhere. The boujee potato had caviar and crème fraîche, which I had never even thought about putting on a potato before... but now I feel like all my potatoes need to be made like this. After getting completely stuffed from dinner, we finished with the Valrhona chocolate crémeux. It was absolutely to die for--pure chocolate heaven. Start to finish everything was amazing. Service: 10/10 Food: Top tier The whole dinner really knocked it out of the park and made my mom's birthday feel special. My in-laws were staying in Santa Monica a few weeks ago so my wife and I went and got dinner with them. This was my first time going to a BOA Steakhouse location and it didn't take long to win me over. This place is absolutely beautiful inside and had an extremely friendly and attentive staff to go with it. The menu is pretty much what you expect from a steakhouse, offering a decent selection of steak cuts, some chicken and pork options, lots of sides, appetizers, and of course a few deserts to top you off at the end. I tried a decent amount of things so let's just break it down. Lobster Mac N' Cheese- This was definitely some of the best lobster Mac N' Cheese I remember having. The lobster itself had such a good flavour while the cheese and noodles didn't taste like generic steakhouse cheese, it had it's own distinct flavour that was absolutely delicious. Corn (Don't remember the technical name, it was seasonal)- The corn was served piping hot with a lemon and tasted very, very, very good. Original Mashed Potatoes- I'm a sucker for some good mashed potatoes and these ones absolutely did the job. Very light, Very good flavour, top notch. Centercut Filet Steak- Very solid piece of beef, cooked medium rare and had great flavour. Sticky Toffee Pudding- It's been too long since I had one of these and the wait was more than worth it. This thing was was absolutely amazing, so much flavour, and looked oh so nice. Overall, BOA Steakhouse gets a 5/5 in my book. I loved everything I ate, the staff was great, and the dark/calm environment made for a nice atmosphere. On my way out, she did a very thoughtful gesture for me, which I truly appreciated, and I wanted to leave her a nice review for it. If you're visiting Boa, definitely say hi to Courtland--she goes above and beyond to make guests feel valued and well taken care of. I would give this visit 5 stars, but they had run out of crab, which was all my significant other was craving that night, so he was a little bummed. Our waiter was friendly and pleasant, but the level of service we received didn't match what was being provided to nearby parties. First off, they offer valet parking next door by the Blue Oyster Plate for $17 with validation. I ended up parking about a block away at the parking structure. I ended up paying $5 for about 4 hours or so. The parking lot right behind the restaurant was charging $27 maximum if I remember correctly. Walked in and informed them we were her for their all night Happy Hour. Was seated immediately as the restaurant was not busy at all due to the 4th and everybody was probably at an event to watch the fireworks. Their HH menu was kind of limited and in all honesty, didn't have much that I wanted to try. Even their drinks were just ok. We did end up ordering the Thai chili boneless wings. It had good flavor and kind of reminded me of orange chicken a little bit, but the meat was dry. I thought the drinks were just ok, but for $9, you really can't complain. We ended up ordering a 14oz ribeye and this was a very good piece of meat. Just salt and pepper and it came with a peppercorn sauce that was not really needed as the steak was seasoned perfectly. Yum! We came to Boa for a work dinner and I'm so so very happy we did. Our server was a lot of fun and very informative about the foods, especially because we had a food allergy in the party. I got the petite filet with the roasted onion butter and we ordered the chipotle lime corn, sauteed mushrooms, and broccoli sides for the table. My steak was so good! I order mine medium well because I don't like it bloody, but it's still tender. It was delicious! I'd never had onion butter before and it did not disappoint. If you like onions, go for it. The sides were also great! Service was top notch here and we had a lovely time! If you can swing it, you need to try this place at least once. They switched servers and the accommodations were subpar. My appetizer was bad. That burrata was not from Italy. I've had real Italian burrata from N10 in Beverly Hills. If you don't have heirloom tomatoes don't serve me tasteless tomatoes. Tell me we don't have tomatoes shame. I was told we don't have the 6666 steak but than they had it. But the worst part was the time it took for the food to arrive. 35 minutes for two simple appetizers the table next to us got it in 10 minutes of sitting down. The 6666 steak was not worth the price. I'd been in Santa Monica for a show which got out at 9 p.m. and I was dying for some steak. I was familiar with the BOA Steakhouse location in West Hollywood, which I've both gone to in person and also ordered delivery from, so I thought the Santa Monica location would be a sure thing. Location 5 Stars. It's right across from the ocean and it's very centrally located to lots of shopping, bars, etc. Service 5 Stars. I was greeted and seated at the bar right away, and the bartender took good care of me. Food 3 stars. It should've been a lot better. I ordered the petite filet without any extra butters or sauces ("just cow," I said), but that was a mistake -- because the outside of the steak was SO dry and crispy, not the normal good char of a steak, that it needed something to make it wet. The inside of the cut was much better but it was really cooked medium (light pink throughout) and not medium rare as I requested. It also doesn't come with any sides, just a sad little round hunk of beef in the middle of a white plate. So, I ordered a side -- all of which are meant for sharing, but I knew I could bring it home and reheat it as leftovers. I chose the mashed broccoli instead of the mashed potatoes because it was listed as gluten-free (not sure what would've been contaminated in potatoes, which don't contain gluten, but better safe than sorry). Honestly, this dish was kind of gross -- just a chunky, green glob that was only partially smashed and had a very pungent broccoli flavor with not much other seasoning. (I added a lot of salt and pepper but it didn't seem to help.) It got worse when I tried to eat it as leftovers the next day, so I ended up throwing the remaining portion out. The exception was the dessert that the bartender recommended as a gluten-free option: the s'mores, which was excellent. I loved the toasted marshmallow and the flourless chocolate cake. Great presentation and really yummy. Drinks 4 stars. I love that they have blue cheese olives but my dirty martini wasn't really dirty at all. From the moment we walked into this restaurant, we felt welcome. The lighting, attentive staff l, and more than amazing food/wine made for fun Monday night. Our favorites were the Hamachi Crudo, Caviar Cones, Tableside Caesar Salad, Brooklyn Style Porterhouse Medium-Rare of course, and you must get dessert. You'll be greeted by two affable gents at the Host Podium and then ushered to your mini table. Yes, the tables are for Lilliputians. I would be beg for a booth lest you be so close to your date, you can pick the creamed Spinach from his/her/their teeth. The decor is Steakhouse slick. Sharp angles of Charcoal, Slate Gray, and Black with violent Red accents. Nothing cold or distant wherever Host puts you as there ain't a bad seat in the House. There is a wrap around patio so you can dine closer to the throng of thong clad tourists. Think of this place as a seaside Walmart. It's quite entertaining. Once inside you are treated like Mister A-lister. The vibe is all class act. So, lean back in your booth and revel in the opulence. A micro Pina Colada with a Cymbidium bloom clinging to the rim of it's tiny little glass arrives signifying that you have arrived. A liquid Amouse Bouche. Delish that was. Menus all around and thankfully no server reading the whole thing like a liturgy from a High Mass. No tray of glistening raw meat sweating at the table's edge while a server recites a detailed explanation to which no one is listening. No monologue by the server extolling the virtues of what he/she/they likes to eat. The Staff: Efficient and an eye on everything. Cool Hand Chris resembled a cross between Steve Martin and Kevin Costner. He was smart, professional and opened with 10 minutes a "A" Material schtick. He could've warmed up a funeral to peels of laughter in seconds. He was a joyful addition to a fine dinner. The Bar: Complete and full despite being completely full. You want it, they'll have it, or create it. "Chris, what do I want?" "Bee Blossom", he buzzed. It showed up in a kitschy Bee Hive Glass. Monkey 47 Gin, Orange Blossom Honey, Egg White, and a Honey Ice Pop. That bee-st had a stinger and delightfully so. My cocktail was tangy and tart with some serious pucker power. Two sips and I looked like I got my lips caught in the elevator doors. Who's here? The Swells dining with the swollen outside looking in like Pound Puppies. There were chubby tourists with fat wallets, neighbors, regulars, and those who know a great steak when they see one and are willing to travel a bit to have one. The Food: This kitchen cooks with confidence. The table side Caesar will prove it. The Salad was spot on and hit the spot. Chilled fresh Romaine with a creamy yet traditional Dressing. It was a measured balance of greenery to Dressing. Yes, there is a Raw Egg mixed in as there should be along with a pile of Anchovies lounging in a cold Silver cup. Don't over look the house made Croutons distributed onto the Salad at the last moment to retain their crunch to the end. Then what do you do with the puddle of dressing when you're done? Should you swipe right or left? I say grab a just baked Parker House Roll and simply circle the plate sopping and mopping without stopping. This Caesar was a pleaser. How bout some Hamachi Crudo with Preserved Meyer Lemon, and a shave or two of Black Truffle with a Brunoise of Celery all doubling as a palate cleanser? Clean, light and tasty. Time for the main attraction. Brooklyn Style Porterhouse (ala Peter Luger). It came with two beefy dudes carrying the grill plate like pallbearers in Asbestos suits and gloves. The Steak cooks at 1,000 degrees and arrives on a plate heated to 500 degrees before being anointed with 1/2 a cup of melted Butter. Napkins to necks please as the Butter on the platter spatters and sputters when it hits the plate which is hotter than a Jet Engine tossing off sufficient heat to trip the Sprinkler System. Wanna impress the Waiter? Go ahead, drop your tongue on the platter to show them what you're made of. Grease in every direction so, Ladies, cover up that new Alice and Olivia Blouse and while the blouse can't be salvaged the Steak is so good, it's worth it. The Tenderloin and the Strip Steak were grilled just right and dissected table side. Accoutrements included Creamy/Raw Horseradish, Bearnnaise Sauce, Chimichurri Sauce, Peppercorn make it seem like I was dating half the Sorority. You won't want to take a break from this steak as it was hard to leave the meat alone to the bone. Sidekicks were thick crispy creamy French Fries, a deep bowl of Creamed Spinach topped with half a can of French Fried Onions. (Next morning it is perfect for breakfast with a Jammy Egg in the crater you made in the Spinach mound. The New Chef, Brandon Collins, a skilled had with a skillet added his signature dessert to the menu. Sticky Toffee Pudding. The Pud flirted with being a touch too dry. Decided to go back to this place after years. Used to be a childhood favorite and now being older I was curious to see if I still like it or not. Our server had the most amazing voice I have ever heard which fit the fine dining steakhouse feel. He was extremely patient and the other servers were also well informed. The one thing that shocked me was that the menu was huge having 4 pages of food. Big menu = bad food. Chopped Salad- was okay, one of the better salads I have had at a steakhouse. NY Strip- The steaks have so much flavor, but not tender. I guess thats why they give you 2 additional sauces to cover up the chewy meat. My dads NY strip had a fat cap that was hard like a bone. Parker Rolls- were delicious, soft, and just enough rosemary to add some extra flavor Roasted Bone Marrow- rich, fatty, and the side of acidic onions and cilantro was perfect. Sides: We go the smashed broccoli and chipotle lime corn, the corn has always been my favorite and was still delicious, the smashed broccoli was okay. Overall, I loved the atmosphere and service. I've never eaten here before but I met my brother and his wife for dinner. Everything was top notch! The cocktails were great! The shrimp cocktail was amazing! The Caesar salad was one of the best ones I've ever had and it was made table side! And the star of the evening was the steak! Prepared and seasoned perfectly. I was super impressed with this place.
