When Fidium was first available in my area I was over the moon. Finally, an alternative to the monopoly of Comcast/ Xfinity and their unethical price gauging practices. The installation went ok, and once problems were solved it was a decent service. But in the span of a couple of years the price almost tripled. In the last six months before we canceled, we had 3 increases of $5 each time, as if to fool you hoping you would not notice or think too much of $5. Worse than Comcast. Disgusting unethical company. I'll give a two star rating because its existence breaks the monopoly and forces Comcast to do better. And because the service works. But know they abuse their clients. read more

Horrid customer service. We have had Fidium for a few years. We started off with a problem off the bat. Internet was installed incorrectly and we had to wait days for a tech to come back. Then after a year they raised our bill and had no more offering of a slightly cheaper plan which they did when we signed up. We went with a plan that was a bit more than we needed because we figure we could downgrade after a year since they had multiple tiers and the sign up bonus was a deal for slighter faster internet. After much strife they stated they'll give us a discount and it was never reflected on our bill. I had to call once a month to deal with the bill being wrong for about 6 months, we finally got it corrected permanently by a supervisor and now this year rolls around and we had to do this all over again! We also had a neighboring tenant get Fidium installed and we went out for a few hours and came home and our internet network was gone, the tech disconnected our internet for hours. We received horrible service with no help and had to go back and forth with the tech who as installing the neighbors line to get it fixed. I called to complain and get help and every single time I spoke I was interrupted and put on hold and spoken over. The tech showed back up to neighbors house coincidentally to finish theirs & we had to keep going back and forth with him to get him to fix our problem. Then I had to call and battle customer service for compensation since we not only had our time and day taken from us we were not going to pay for internet that we didn't get, they gave us a whipping $3.50 off. Rep also would not repeat things back in a way I could understand when I explained that I'm hearing impaired and kept just saying it over again. Every time I've tried to get a supervisor they keep me on hold for over 20 minutes and keeps saying they can't get in touch with the supervisor till you finally give up. We are basically forced into this company since xfinity is equally terrible and Verizon is not available in our area. AWFUL company with horrible customer service and irresponsible techs. read more

I had both landline voice and internet through Consolidated Communication/Fidium. I experienced numerous loss of services over a number of months with absolutely no assistance despite countless calls for help. When I did get through I was put on hold for extremely long waits. This is by far the worst company I have ever had to deal with. To add insult to injury I was billed for a month of service long after I attempted to end their service and when it was actually defunct. I switched to Starlink internet and At&t. Also, there was an alarm on the fiber box and customer support told me that since they saw no issue on their end I needed to just ignore it. 5 hours. They gave me an offer I couldn't refuse. $40 a month for 2gb fiber?! Am I dreaming? The speeds are insane and the price is crazy cheap. The app for the router is surprisingly really good. My previous Netgear Nighthawk forces a $30 per year sub for parental controls but the Attune app is free and easy to use. Spectrum tried bribing me to come back with $30 a month 0.5gb cable. I told them about the Fidium deal and the dude literally said "oh damn I can't beat that. Nevermind bruh you all set" Fidium customer support isn't the greatest but it's also not the worst. Once you figure out how to bypass the AI you'll likely get a foreigner rep. Had one hiccup during install (guy was training another tech so we can just blame the new guy) and they had to come back out but I live across the street from the ISP so they knocked it out next day. We have had unreliable bandwidth that prevents working or training from home on our 2gig plan. Zoom calls are choppy and totally interrupted. Computer shows low bandwidth warning each time and this is when the camper is plugged into the top high speed port of their router And ALL other devices in the home list are disabled. I've made multiple calls to their frustrating AI service to get to a real person who basically wont expedite a home service call. They test the line from their end and say all is good. This has been going on for more than two months. We have a service person co in two days, but if they don't resolve the issues we will return to cable. I dont recommend Fidium due to poor performance and extremely poor support. read more

Good luck trying to cancel there internet. There customer service "team" is Ai and is unable to help. expect at least an hour on wait with Ai popping in to ask you to hold. My bill doubled and its been a nightmare to cancel. i'm still being charged even though i don't have there modom connected. This is a company with an OK product, but obviously run by imbeciles. Customer service is atrocious. For example they have an ATTUNE app you are supposed to use when the service doesn't work , but the app doesn't work when tne service doesn't work. Genius. When you cancel service they send you a return label for the modem....only they don't send it until after you've moved away! Fantastic! When you call customer service they ask you for a code they email you. Unfortunately the emailed code is 6 digits and the agent wants a 4 digit code. Briiliant! I had fidium for 3 wks and I spoke to a rep . They have a 30 day refund if you don't like the service, but they kept billing me. I did get billing straightened out. My next problem was getting a return label to my email, they never sent it. I called 4 more times about getting a return label and they said they will physically mail it to me, it never came. This went on for 2 months. I called them again for the last time to request a address so I can return their equipment before they could bill me for equipment. They are super polite etc, and I had been paying for 300mbs upload and download. Last wednesday they had no connection, I started a request at 3:30AM on thursday, they claimed nothing was down. I pressed it and they started a ticket. At 4:04 AM I was at the Key Bank ATM on same grid, KB uses Fidium, and the ATM was down, so they lied. Now I have a connection but its around 60mbps and long latency of 20ms, causing a negative impact on remote desktop. Its now even slower, 30Mbps. Its the same ole Consolidated, they have no clue how their servers work, nor how to see if your connection is not up to the agreed specs. They do EVASIVE things, like they will test your connection while you are on the phone, meaning they will ONLY verify if it's connected, then try to get you to go away agreeing that they solved the issues on their side. ...ignoring what you just told them, that you have a good connection but that they are not giving you your bandwidth. I have a LAN, no wireless, and they tried hard to go there to deflect (that it was my wireless). If I plug their LAN cable direct from their router to this PC to pypass my LAN its still 30Mbps. Its either bait and switch, and they need to have a class action law suit, or they are just ignorant and literally have no clue how to manage their servers to give their customers what they bought. Don't expect a good remote work experience, no matter how much bandwidth you pay for, they ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT GIVE YOU THE CONNECTION YOU PAID FOR. Senator Collins and Angus King in Maine have received thousands of complaints over 25 years for illegal theft of bandwidth from the ISP's, and they choose to do nothing. This has been going on for 25 years, meaning ISP's lying to you and throttling your connection WAY LESS than you need to do work. Take the time to write to your Rep and Senators. read more

Not only did I have limited connection while I was hooked up, with some high speeds but a LOT of black outs, but when I canceled I wasnt given a rebate for canceling mid cycle, and I was told I owed the state a late fee for my previous payment, which was auto pay, so how could it be late!! Installation was quick and efficient...but: I'm being billed $5 more per month than I was told would be the "Total Bill", it's as difficult getting to talk to a person for assistance as it was with Xfinity, and when you get to the point that their "support staff" is stumped, they put your phone call on hold and a few minutes later the call is disconnected. There's a fidium fiber optic cabinet that's been beeping for MONTHS outside of my work. I've contacted fidium multiple times to report it, multiple people have sent me different phone numbers to contact and NO ONE has been able to come service it. On top of that, sending a customer to contact different phone numbers to try fix the problem with their servicing of their equipment is absolutely not acceptable. We had Fidium fiber optic installed in July, because they told us, meaning Consolidated, that we had no choice, that it would increase our Internet speed. Ever since we've had an installed, we keep losing Wi-Fi connection, so none of our devices, Security, generator, heating system connect to our apps because we don't have connection. I can never seem to speak to someone who will help me, all they want to do is change my password, which doesn't solve the connection issue. We would never recommend this company and we don't know what to do because we don't know how to go back to a different company since we can't get them to fix what the issues are end or disconnect us. read more

Terrible, first of all, the installer was 20 minutes late, no communication whatsoever, installation was performed in the dark. Installer put in the wrong password, then sped off. Internet has never worked since installation, called service to troubleshoot, did not get a call back for 24 hours, at which time I was not home and couldn't troubleshoot over the phone. Fidium representative came to the house and I scheduled an appointment for installation. On the date and time scheduled no one arrived. I called Fidium and they had no record of my account or my scheduled installation. They took all my information again and notified me I would have installation next week. The directed me to someone who would guide me through the process. That Fidium representative had no idea who I was and she indicated I had no account and no installation date. Was lied to on every interaction with horrible customer service and now they are threatening collections. I wish I could rate a zero. A gentleman came to our house offering Fiduim fiber optic internet. This. was new to our area. It would be $50 per month. We accepted the agreement. My husband took work off and they never showed. We called three times we were told we were on the schedule on the second call. The third call, they couldn't find us on the schedule. Last night a gentleman arrived at 6:30 PM. He made excuses for not being able to install. First one it was it too dark out. He said that the ground might be too frozen and they had to run the line on top if we wanted it now. We have been through this before having a line went on top and our Internet didn't work with other providers. He stated if the ground is to frozen we'd have to wait till May for the install. When we spoke to the salesman, he stated none of this. I feel like this is a scam personally. This is my opinion. I switched to fidium about a month ago. The speed is that of dial up without the noise. I have miltiple Alexa devices which do not work with fidium. I have called the total fools at customer service to no avail. They cannot understand or answer any questions. Customer Service is a joke. Fidium is the worst. On one account I've been without phone and internet since 7/11 (today 8/7) and on the other I was without internet for 3 days and without the phone from 7/11 to 8/7. At that video for 2 years now I'm only at this house 6 months per year so I've used it for about 12 months and that time they've been out here approximately 15 times last night at 10:00 p.m. my internet went out Freedom will turn on the morning cuz I'm so used to it going out by 5:00 a.m. it was still out I set up an appointment to have a guy come to my house between 8:00 and 10:00 10:15 rolls around no call no show call them back they tell me they'll be here by 11:00 11:00 comes and goes no call no show call them again be here by 1:00 2 minutes of one the guy shows up he's about 20 minutes going through stuff changes a few things internet fires up 2 minutes later it goes down my phone says no it's not reaching the router the guy goes and changes out the pot I told him it's a router he disagrees fires up the internet it's working in 2 minutes later it goes down go to look for the guy he's already left I've been on the phone with city of nine times they tell me that there's outage in the area yet all my neighbors have internet I get different stories every time I call up I've called them 10 times today it's a full day's work and now they tell me internals working on it and that I need to wait up to 24 hours even though I've already been out of internet for 20 hours so I have to wait till this time tomorrow night which is approximately 8:00 before I can call them back so I can set up to have another technician come out and change out the router are you kidding me worst customer service ever I'm going back to satellite at least it was consistent it might be kissed his assistantly sucky but it's better than these morons if you have any other options I suggest you take them because if you have a problem with this company they can't seem to fix their problems and all they do is make you jump through hoops and waste your days . read more

Fidium Fiber does not hold a strong connection in my town yet assured me that it would provide clear buffered service. We went thru 8 months of sporadic service, acquired mesh boosters all to no avail. Then we cancelled on 9/17/25 after ensuring our new provider service was working. We cancelled 5days following the billing cycle. They do not prorate as defined in the original agreement. They apparently updated their t&c in July, beginning in Sept 2025 no more proration. We never got the notice as we are on autopay. It took 2 phone calls, a long hold each time, and a chat bot to finally clear it up. We had to pay the full amount. Their service is as bad as Comcast. They originally advertised as best service- they don't even do that anymore. Steer clear. read more
