Came here for a last minute mani/pedi since my normal nail spot was closed for renovations. I had heard good things about this nail shop so I thought I'd give it a try. Let's start with the positives. Pros: The inside was really cute and well decorated. The woman who did my toes did a great job and I feel like I was able to communicate well. Also, they have a wide range of colors. They stay open later than most nail shops in the area. Cons: my nails chipped after 2 days!! I got SNS dip powder nails that usually last 3 weeks (when I get them done elsewhere). But when I got them done here, they didn't have the SNS dip powder top coat. So they had to use gel top coat. I told her that that wouldn't work and that she should have told me before that she didn't have the right top coat. But there wasn't much else she could do. And just as I predicted, my nails chipped. They started chipping after about 2 or 3 days with the most basic activity involving my hands. Second con, the price. I paid almost $100 for a regular pedicure and a dip powder manicure. And two acrylic toenails. Overall, I probably wouldn't go here again. But they did do a decent job on my pedicure. ‍ read more

I grew up on Pleasant Avenue so I remember when Fierce first came to the neighborhood, so I can attest to how their service has ALWAYS been hit or miss, mainly on the miss. I got my nails 'done' on Saturday by someone who HAS to be an apprentice because there's no way she is senior nail tech. For $70 I recieved the jankiest 40 minute gel X / Apres manicure hopefully of my life. Before 1 of the nails fully popped off in under 8 hours, 2 more coming off a day later... there's so many quotables from this tech. "We don't use base coat on full sets and it will make the polish peel off anyway" "I can't put the chrome powder on the exposed black part of the nail because it will just come off." "Where is your thumb crooked?" My cuticles look horrid in every after photos because nothing was done to them, not a trim/nip, a push back, nothing. Just drill bit, no base coat, and vibes. When I went to get them repaired because they have a slimy no refunds policy, and you can't get them redone by another tech, you must go back to the same person who messed up in the first place policy, they told me to come in the following Sunday only to panic call me back to back 3x to tell me no one was in on Sunday. More quotables, like "Just so you know, the chrome wasn't even in the spring special" "It looks like you popped these off....did you do that?" Just nothing but unmitigated gall, from this tech who went by another name on the phone to as if I was gonna be shy about telling the salon the name of the person with the unacceptable service. I was gonna let it go, take the L, and remember that I haven't gotten my nails done since 2021 and started doing them myself for this reason....but today I got them touched up for the 3rd time, (2nd time was Saturday/the day of with the cocked thumb) and now a 4th finger has actually shattered in half? The picture is kinda incredulous, and I absolutely want my money back, bc through all the slick shit and commentary, I came back to this salon that's out of my way because I no longer live on Pleasant Avenue, to give them a chance to fix their work. For $70 Gel-X, with a shorter lifespan than scotch tape acrylics, this whole experience has been a wasteful joke. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON!! I wish zero stars were an option! My (adult) daughter left this salon this afternoon after receiving a Brazilian wax that left her red, raw, bleeding and bruised. When I called and asked to speak to the owner or manager I was told she was the manager but she refused to give me her name or the name of the person who waxed my daughter. She said she was refunding my daughter which is the least she could do after this brutality which clearly shows not only is their customer service sub-par but clearly they wouldn't know competency if it slapped them in the face!! They didn't file my nails or soak my cuticles and they probably wouldn't even have shaped my nails if I didn't ask for it. I've been coming to Fierce Spa for over 7 years now. I live in NJ and work in the city. Honestly I could go near my home however the service and treatment I receive everytime I come here leaves me wanting more. Just the ambiance alone compared to any other salon invites you in. I love that I don't have to worry about the hygiene and cleanliness. I recommend going on Tuesdays, they're less busy. The service is excellent I am always offered a hot or cold drink. They have a new technician who's amazing his name is Edwin. Really takes time to make your nails look perfect in every angle so make sure u have extra time on your hands. Found this spot on instagram as I was looking for a new place to frequent because my usual spot was booked. The decor is beautiful, but that's about it. The workers were pretty dismissive and unwelcoming. But whatever i'm not there to make friends. What made this experience truly unsatisfying was the outrageous amount that I spent on a gel pedicure, $62. Never in my life have I ever spent that much on a basic gel pedicure and I wouldn't have been so opposed had the experience matched the price.The experience didn't warrant that price since they used a basic gel polish brand. In addition to, the fact that my feet were not properly scrubbed or cleaned. After I mentioned it to her she had to go back and remove the remnants of my old gel polish before beginning to paint. The pedicure was rushed as she didn't even spend an hour, which isn't always necessary, but if you're going to charge so much make the SERVICE match the price or at least the QUALITY of products. A kiara sky gel top coat is NOT worth $62. I WOULD NEVER go there again or recommend to any of my peers in the community. So BEWARE. I do know of other nice spots that do DOPE nails where the quality and experience is remarkable so i'll stick to that. To their defense they do have the price list posted where it does say $56 for a gel pedicure, but they charge to remove old paint as well. (The irony to not even do it properly). Don't go here if you value things like time, attention to detail and professionalism. This place charges an arm and a leg, has no massage chairs, doesn't honor appointments, and can't do simple nail art. I've been to this place 3 times. The first time was ok, even if way more expensive than every nail salon in the area. I got a simple manicure and pedicure, which lasted about a week and a half so I went back. The second time, I made an appointment. The woman who was supposed to do my nails had 2 people before me, even though I made the appointment and it was confirmed. So I had to get my nails done by someone else, cool. I made another appointment, same thing. But this time, it took over an hour to be seen. When I finally got in the chair, I asked for a very simple design (literally just squiggles), as I'd paid for, and she couldn't do it. This is my first time coming to this place after seeing it around for quite some time. My nail tech on NYE cancelled on me and I was scrambling to find a place that does acrylic nails... I called them late that afternoon and they were luckily open and not too many people were there getting their nails done. Alas it was an emergency so I showed the lady a picture of wanted and she said she could do it. Did my nails in no time! The full set I got took about 45-50 mins and I felt like the girl really knew what she was doing, she made conversation with me which also made me feel welcome and comfortable I was even offered wine. The employees/owners of this establishment don't seem to care much and I was left waiting for nearly 30 minutes with my feet soaking in lukewarm water while they milled about. Not to mention there is almost ALWAYS someone in there with a disruptive and agitated child, which absolutely kills the mood. I know that it's not a high-end salon, and that's fine, but grown women go to get their nails done to relax and take care of ourselves, we don't want to be subjected to a spoiled, shrieking four-year-old who for some ungodly reason is getting her nails done. (Sorry, but side-eye.) Besides that, my mani/pedis never last long from here at all unless I add a layer of topcoat to them every day. I agree with Erica's comments I will not be back here again and recommend others to be CAREFUL before entering here. I had 4 workers working on my toes while juggling other tasks. My pedicure "appointment" lasted 3 hours because of the lack of staff and organization. On top of that once I told the owner which is Guadalupe (the one replying the comments in yelp) that next time she should let me know in advance about the wait time instead of letting me sit there with my soaked toes, she decide to give an attitude and rudely throw my card. I get is business but it's also people time here and I rather had return than having my toes drained for 3 hours. I want to like this place soooo much. It's only 3 blocks away, super cute and always clean. But I should have known better. The last time I went here for eyebrows, the skin was burned/ripped off part of my eyelid. Eyelid. I read the horrible reviews and thought "it can't be that bad. Clearly these people are doing something crazy for their gel manicures to be chipping after 1-2 days." Wrong. My toe nails and feet look and feel great from the pedicure (regular polish), but my finger nails are already chipped. Not even a whole day and two nails are chipped. When we walked in we were greeted and were asked what service we wanted and to choose a color . The customer service was amazing . I felt very welcomed . The owner Guadalupe was so sweet and very attentive . She did an amazing job with my mom nails . The pricing is very reasonable . They do amazing work also . Some of nail technicians do get fairly busy due to high clientele but walk-ins are welcome. I was also able to get my nail color changed even though I had tips, I felt like I was getting the full service . They take care of their customers . I would give 0 stars if I could. Firstly, a mani & pedi *without polish* is $53. Secondly, that mani & pedi (as in, both services together) lasted approximately *20 minutes* end to end. For 3-4 of those, my nail tech was on the phone - as in, she fully stopped what she was doing & went to the back to speak with someone on FaceTime. I'm not even willing to post a picture of my nails, which should give you a sense of what an abysmal job it was. There was no soak for my fingers, she didn't clean under the nails, oils were low so she was mixing multiple, she clipped me in several places... the list is so long, all I can do is urge you not to visit this place - I guarantee you you could do a better job yourself and keep the $50. Personally, having not seen the reviews until after I left, all I can say is lesson learned. To top it all off, when I enquired about pricing at the end, the best response they could give a customer was, "I mean, we did the service so." ... Barely. For anyone interested in a proper mani/pedi, there's an excellent nail salon 2 blocks away on Pleasant Avenue between 117th and 118th (where I would have gone, but it was closed at the time). I came here last Friday for a builder gel set and was pleased with the results. By Wednesday, I experienced lifting & chipping and was disappointed. I had some time between meetings and decided to stop by to get them fixed. I explained to the staff what happened and she said she could fix it in an hour. As she fixed it, I realized she was the owner. She called over to my original tech to show her the issue and how to prevent it. When I asked to pay, she let me know that it was on the house because she appreciated that I gave them a chance to fix the issue rather than not returning and leaving a bad review. I had no expectation to receive the service for free but it was really nice of her to do so. She reshaped and re-gel'ed all of my nails. For that, I will definitely be returning. To the punchline: I made an appt for their first slot on Sunday, came here with a groupon, was treated well, and my shellac mani lasted 2 weeks. The owner did my nails and, boy, was she a fast one. She just tossed a damp cloth on my hands to soften the cuticles instead of massaging the hands as I had experienced at other salons, or as one of the employees was doing for another customer. Word of advice: come when there are more employees so you don't have to be serviced by someone who is getting up to answer phones, check the cash register and run the business. I was worried that she was cutting corners but clearly time's the test. The salon itself is very pink, sparkly, and cute, like a teeny bopper's fancied powder room minus any feather boas. My other complaint is that the owner was overzealous in trimming the skin around my nails so I left with an angry looking welt. It's a good thing the salon appears to be clean and well kept to meet infections at bay. For shellac, they carry, opi, cnd, and gelish. Wow!!!!! I am literally overwhelmed with how great of an experience I had here. First of all; the ambience is SO cute! Beautifully decorated, it's very welcoming and caught my eye, as I live in the area and have walked by it a million times. Now- I came with my stepdaughter and she is pretty particular about designs and how she likes her nails done. She is 9 years old and we have gone to many different nail places where she asks for a unicorn design and they either turn her down, or do a subpar job. The girls here did a FABULOUS job on her nails, she has been smiling from ear to ear just staring at her nails exclaiming "I am sooo happy this is a masterpiece" for the past hour(see pictures) The designs were 15$ each but the price is understandable as the work is very tedious. Now on to me: I got a pedicure, a foot massage, and a back massage. First of all, this is like top 5 best pedicures I've ever had. He didn't rush, every detail was accounted for, my feet came out looking clean and great. Now- the massages, I will definitely be back for that!!!
