It has half or a small scrambled egg on arugula one small slice of bread and six flat pieces or an orange. This was for $15.50. The cost of the food can't be more than $1. It was not an omelette. I was very disappointed. The cappuccino was outstanding. My biggest problem was the value for my money. read more

One unique thing about this restaurant is that you can order spaghetti for breakfast (without getting any strange looks). My breakfast consisted of a plate of spaghetti and a hot latte. It's an odd combination I have to admit, but its a delicious one. The spaghetti was well made. I never been to Italy, nor can I claim what an authentic spaghetti supposed to taste like, but I really enjoyed it. The pasta had a nice chew, the meatballs were sufficiently seasoned, and the tomato sauce was balanced. I appreciate it when a simple dish is made well. The latte was great. It was exactly what I was looking for that morning. Good milk texture, strong coffee, and hot. Service was friendly and I wasn't asked to tip anywhere. You simply place your order at the counter, pay, and find a seat. There are no touch screens where you have to make a moral decision in front of anyone, nor is there a spot on the receipt to write down any additional amount. I've been coming to this location since it was the Coffee Critic, 20-30 years ago. We love Fiero, which has now been there for some years. My husband and I live about a mile away and it is our favorite outing to walk over to Fiero for breakfast, lunch, or coffee, usually sitting outside. We are thrilled with the new pizza oven and we sometimes share a Margherita pizza and mineral water for a really low cost lunch; other times, we treat ourselves to pasta (love the pasta Fiorentina), an omelette, or panini. The staff is lovely and looks out for us well. There is sometimes a wait because it is so popular. When the owner is rushed off his feet he doesn't stop to chat, but he runs a great operation and we are so happy Fiero is in the neighborhood! read more

Cute local restaurant with an Italian flair and very dog friendly! There's indoor seating and a decent amount of outdoor seating as well. Food items include omelettes, paninis, pasta, salads, and fish, and some daily specials. There's also a small pastry case with some baked goods. You order at the counter and pay before choosing your own seat. You're provided with a number and staff will bring your food over. I've had the eggplant parm and the pasta dishes before. You can't go wrong with any of the entrees here. The coffee was decent. I ordered a vanilla latte and the first few sips tasted like a regular latte. Halfway through, I started tasting the vanilla and it got really sweet 3/4 of the way in. I would recommend mixing your latte prior to consumption to ensure it's not too sweet! read more

We all love fiero caffe, including my picky 5 year old, who can demolish almost all of an adult portion of spaghetti and meatballs. The salads are always fresh, and the pastries are excellent. Service is no frilles, but friendly and efficient, and there are so many cute spots to sit in (our favorites are the outdoor patio, and the semi-private sun room). Tip: The food is made to order (it's not a fast casual place!), but if you are hungry and can't wait, order a pizza to share, as they tend to come out quicker than the other options! read more

When we go there and after we ordered, we saw everyone eating pasta around 11am on a Sunday, and we knew we missed out an opportunity. This place has been on my list to try for a few years now, and my family finally got tried it over the weekend! They serve coffee and pastries as well as omelets and paninis, but I was there for one thing and one thing only - the pasta! I have heard such great things about the pasta that I didn't care about anything else. We tried three different ones - the spaghetti carbonara, rigatoni boscaiola, and spaghetti with clams and shrimp without marinara. Happy to report that all the pastas were all delish! The carbonara was rich and creamy from the egg yolk and cheese. They were very generous with the amount of pancetta. The rigatoni boscaiola had ground sausage and mushrooms in a delicious creamy tomato sauce. The seafood was fresh They did not use fresh pasta, but it was perfectly cooked al dente, just the way I like it. They do offer fresh fettucine but we didn't order that dish. Like Bocelli's "Mille lune, mille onde" or A Thousand Moons a Thousand Waves I always passed by without stopping. Always rushing to another place on the map until one morning... Fiero Caffe is located on El Camino Real in San Mateo on the boarder of Burlingame. You really can't miss it as the sign literally juts out over the sidewalk. Café tables line the exterior and the inside cozy and warm. And yes, on a weekend morning in late Spring I finally stopped by for some coffee. San Mateo County has one of the strictest pandemic mandates in the country and it was comforting to see that the county is finally starting to safely open up again. Fiero Caffe can be added to the list of officially open for sit-down service, inside and out. I was greeted as I entered and immediately noticed customers sitting and enjoying their breakfast. Tables all comfortably spaced apart. I decided to order the Breakfast Croissant (Ham, Cheese + Egg) and Café Latté. Since I was planning on driving over the bridge I decided take-out. I stood to the side as I waited for my order. I loved the decor as it reminded me of the cafes I visited in Rome and Paris. The ambiance Euro casual and quite busy. After a few minutes my Breakfast Croissant and Café Latté was ready. As I was leaving I was tempted on just sitting at one of the outside patio tables since it was so airy and peaceful. Yet, I was all set to drive over the bridge so I continued on. As I unwrapped my breakfast I knew it was of high quality. The aroma of the Latté was also calling me. One bite of the Breakfast Croissant was all I needed to tell me it was the best I've had since my mornings in Europe. The croissant itself was flaky and incredibly fresh. I wonder if it's baked in house? The ham tasty, eggs cooked perfectly, and the cheese mingled elegantly. I really, really enjoyed it! The Café Latté was rich and on point - I could tell instantly that it was made of high quality coffee! Delicioso! In the end, I recommend Fiero Caffe in San Mateo. My review only based on my take-out order but looking at the pasta dishes at each table told me I will definitely be back. Boy, I enjoyed this quite a bit the first time, but the second time was a home run. Vegetarian panini: 5/5. I LOVE sandwiches. I can have them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. When I find a great one (especially nearby) I am very happy. And this one made me very happy. Very fresh ingredients that go wonderfully together (goat cheese, mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, basil/pesto) that were presented on perfectly toasted bread. I split this one with my wife (because we had other eating plans that day), but next time--no way! And the side salad that came with it was very simple, but with fresh ingredients and a simple dressing was an excellent complement. A few hours after eating this sandwich I was still enjoying the experience, which tells you how good it was. I am already looking forward to returning. And this place has a very nice ambiance that makes it very pleasant to hang out and enjoy a meal. There is quite a bit of seating (both indoor and out). There was also a outlet and the wifi worked well. I tried the ham and cheese croissant which was perfectly cheesy and savory. I had the prosciutto de Parma panini (the side salad was sad, just a bunch of spinach leaves with a couple of olives, not like some of the pics posted but I didn't care). The panini had mozzarella and fresh tomatoes. The bread was toasted just right and the flavor was spot on! Yes, I was hungry but I get cranky if my cravings aren't satisfied.
