Breakfast croissant: fried egg, bacon & cheddar cheese
Carolina G.

Place is small & quaint croissant spot in Burlingame, San Francisco, and it ended up being such a great find. The place itself is tiny and basic, the kind of café that feels cozy I ordered a croissant breakfast sandwich with a fried egg, cheddar, and bacon. It was simple, but perfect--the croissant was incredibly light & buttery Nothing fancy, just really well-made and delicious. They also offer a full menu and a variety of pastries that looked amazing. Definitely a spot worth stopping by if you're in the area and craving something fresh and flavorful.

Deluxe Croissandwich - Ham, Cheddar cheese, fried egg, sauté mushrooms and fresh spinach $8.79 w Medium Cappucino $4.65

Overall 3.75 stars: A small cafe situated in downtown Burlingame. A 10 minute walk to most hotels located on Broadway. Limited pastries but have a decent selection of breakfast sandwich and coffee options. Limited seating inside and outside , about 4 tables per location. It is more a pick up and go cafe. However I sat down to have my breakfast on an early Sunday morning. 3.5 Service - staff were friendly. Might be family own and operated. Because each item is made fresh, took about 12 minutes for my sandwhich and coffee. 3.75 Stars - I ordered a Deluxe Hot croissant sandwich. It had a fried egg, cheddar cheese, spinach, mushrooms and ham. The sandwich was good and hot. Evened though the croissant was flatten to encased the ingredients, it was a perfect way to hold the sandwich. I added hot sauce to enhance the flavor. The sautéed mushrooms and fresh spinach gave the other items a more balanced flavor. You know "fried egg meets fresh spinach" means healthy w a side of naughtiness. 3.5 Stars - Coffee - a medium Cappuccino. Coffee was good but I prefer my coffee stronger flavor. I forgot to order a shot of Espresso. I recommend this cafe for a light breakfast meal.

Florentine croissandwich. I am not sure the black stuff on the egg. Since the egg was cooked in a flat griddle like a flat iron.

My first time here . I ordered to go regular croissant, almond croissants. The price is fair but it is not what I expected. Croissants here are delivered daily according to the owner from a different bakery. There is one female prepping the order and the owner. So only two employees in a small space. Their regular croissants were not shiny, not crispy and not flaky but soft. I would pay more for the quality and for real Croissants. I am still trying to assess the black stuff on my egg that I did not eat and removed from the Croissanwich. I was not a happy camper eating their Croissant. I will not go back.

Street parking. Good to go on Sunday so as not to worry about meter. Le special breakfast with egg mushroom, spinach, cheese, tomato was excellent. Side toast with whipped butter & jam also added along with house coffee or orange juice. Other breakfast items ordered by our group looked good but I did not taste them. Order your food, pay, and server brings to your table. Small cafe so not much ambiance. Small eatery and fairly fast service. 4 of 5 stars.

Avocado turkey pesto with pepper jack cheese in a croissant
Izzy T.

Absolutely delicious little turkey pesto sandwich in a croissant! They gave lots of avocado (super fresh) and melted some ooey gooey pepper jack cheese in it with a few slices of tomato! There isn't much searing inside (4-5 tables) but there also a few outside the restaurant! Cute little breakfast spot in downtown Burlingame so there's plenty to walk around and see after! Would definitely come again to try their other sandwiches!

Very cozy mom & pop breakfast & sandwich place! I ordered their turkey avocado melted sandwich and it was delicious! I rarely get sandwiches because I don't typically like them, but this was soo good. Everything was well portioned and prepared. The garlic pesto is such a nice touch! Service was quick, I think I got everything within 5 minutes. They're also laptop friendly on the weekends which is nice. I was originally going to eat/station at pluckys down the street but saw how they don't allow laptops on weekends. So glad it turned out this way! Also the large latte is the size of a bowl! Super happy!

Ground up nuts in cream cheese
Michael S.

Warning: They add nuts to basic items without telling you! I had been ordering here for a while with good results - the food quality was good on most items. This time they put some kind of ground up nuts in a few plain bagels with cream cheese. Opening the bagels it is clearly easy to see. It caused a severe allergic reaction. When I called them they denied it, denied even the possibility that anything with nuts could have gotten in there, while it was sitting there right in front of me.

Nice little mom and pop bakery. The owner is nice, and friendly. Cozy shop inside. Seems like fresh baked good each day. I got an almond filled croissant to heat up. They put it in a panini press to heat up. I unfortunately, it didn't heat up the croissant but instead it pressed it down. Losing that fluffy crispy-ness of a croissant. The taste though is pretty good. Not too sweet. House coffee is not bad either. Wish the would get a toaster to warm up the baked goods, instead of smooshing it in a panini press. There are tables to sit outside which is nice.

Sausage egg and cheese croissant

Have been coming to this place a 2 or 3 times a month for 3 years now, really awesome affordable mom and pop spot. The sausage egg and cheese croissant is my favorite. Steve the owner is always super friendly, and thice outside seating on broadway.

Love this coffee shop. It is family owned. Seems many are regular. The owner is nice. It is a small shop which serves coffee, pastries and regular american breakfast like egg and sandwich. It has indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered almond croissants and ice and hot latte. Price is reasonable and it is cheaper than other coffee shops. The croissant is yummy and fluffy. The latte is good and light. Will visit again and try the sandwiches. It is a good place for breakfast and brunch.

Lox Sandwich

We've been coming to Le Croissant Cafe for over a decade! It's a perfect spot to enjoy a small yummy meal and enjoy Burlingame. The BEST BLT in the Bay, hands down. PRO TIP: Add an egg. The egg salad is HEAVENLY. OJ is perfection. Their chicken soup is hearty and has warmed a many cold afternoons. The owners are a lovely family whom we love supporting. Definitely our go-to spot in Burlingame!

This was a fresh breakfast. It had eggs with mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach and cheese with wheat toast. It all was very fresh but there seemed something missing. It was just very plain in flavor. I wish it had more seasoning or something to make it more unique. I added salt and pepper and that helped it somewhat. I still enjoyed it. Staff were nice and it's a nice chill café. I don't know if I'd go back but I might try their sandwiches.

If your navigation takes you down a small ramp, you are in the wrong area. Let's talk about the shop now, the inside is a bit small but it isn't lacking in heart one bit. There was one place to place your order but I think there might be two overall. You can take a peek and watch as the team makes your sandwiches. Gigi's even makes free lunches for those in the community that are having a tough time. I think that's really cool that this place is able to serve the community in this way. As for the food, I ordered the "Chipotle is my life". As a "city kid" there was always something about a classic deli sandwich from the corner store that just always hits and at Gigi's I got the same nostalgia feeling. The sandwich was great, bread wasn't soggy from the spread and it had great flavor! A nice spin on a classic turkey and cheese. The wait time was pretty quick so that's definitely a plus. I think the best part about all of this is you can take your sandwich and eat very close to the water if you wanted to. Albeit a bit out of the way, this will be my go to spot when I want a deli sandwich.

Great for a traditional American comfort breakfast. If you love sitting at the counter and watch…read morethe chefs cook in front of you, you'll love this place. At my seat (depicted) you get live behind the scenes of a kitchen. Me personally, I enjoy watching my food being cooked in front of me, so I enjoyed it. I originally went because of looking at the prices on an image on yelp. It was $16 for sausage, eggs, hash browns, and pancakes. That's a great deal! But, once I got there inflation kicked it up to $18. Not the biggest difference to deter, but just letting everyone know the real price. I got pancakes, eggs, hash browns, and bacon (depicted). The eggs were good, pancakes were very good, hash browns were okay, and the reason for 4 star instead of a 5.... the bacon. The bacon wasn't crispy and cooked to order. It was chewy and I guess they cook it before and then heat it up on the griddle after. It is super noticeable from the taste, but especially from the texture. I would recommend this place to anyone, but just be aware with the vital advice I wrote.

My pork chop dinner included soup or salad, slice of toasted and buttered sourdough, potatoes or rice, vegetables and choice of dessert. All for just under $30 before tip. The meal was as expected for a '60s coffee shop. Salt is the dominant seasoning. The turkey and rice soup was a smart way to use leftover ingredients. The boiled red potatoes were good. The two thin pork chops were supposedly marinated, but I couldn't tell from tasting them. They were over cooked--dry, tough and needed some herbs. DH had the cheeseburger with potato salad and praised the meal. He also devoured my dessert--ice cream with chocolate sauce. Service was friendly and efficient, making me want to return. Next time I'll have something like a sandwich or burger.

Last time I came it was a bit sour and I swore it off but decided to try it again and was glad I did! It was still delicious and came with a nice little piece of bread. Scarfed the whole thing down. What would have put the salad over the top would have been if they added a little bit of chopped cilantro. Yum! Hubs had a sweet cream filled bun which he enjoyed. Nice spot to chill with the hubs. The wait staff is polite although sitting outside they never checked on us or brought us more refilled water. Not sure if this is an outside thing or not. When I sat inside they constantly refilled our waters. Copenhagen is a classic place to grab a bite or a bit of coffee and pastry or dessert. It's a great place to sit and people watch. "Do you want it or not!" Is all the manager would say to me…read more I ordered a pink cake with gold lettering, And definitely no roses for my wife's birthday. Instead I got this monstrosity. When I expressed this to the manager. The manager refused to even give me a decent discount on this gigantic mistake. Her options were you get a 10% discount ($ 4.00) Don't take the cake at all. (Ridiculous option considering I ordered it the night before for a morning pick up for an afternoon party.) Or come back at 3 for a replacement. Make it make sense, cake cutting is at 1pm. Hence the early pick up time. So understandably i'm angry. Mostly because the actual manager could care less and only offered up a nonsense discount or go home with nothing. Customer care clearly doesn't matter here. I only wanted a reasonable discount for this huge mistake and she absolutely refused. I hope the owners are reading this. This is my go to location for all special occasions and this manager is doing a great job of not taking care your loyal customers. Safeway is up the street with 20 dollar cakes and they get the order right. Her employee who could not follow directions is also at fault here but she seemed well insulated by the manager. I was treated like I was the problem even though the mistake was theirs. My advice to you the customer. Any custom cake you order there make sure to take the slip where the order is being jotted down and double and triple check it yourself that it is correct. Because when your special occasion cake says happy birthday instead of happy anniversary pucker up. Because the manager will just tell you tough S**t.
