Lake County has a lot of Mexican restaurants. Like, a lot a lot. Still, I was worried when moving from Winter Garden where I proudly helped keep Taquitos Jalisco open for years, if I could find something comparable, or at least satisfactory. Voila! Fiesta Grande is pretty good. The fajitas are huge, albeit a little on the oily side, and the combo platters come really close to my beloved Taquitos. Their happy hour specials are amazing. Think giant margaritas and 2 for 1 beers. Even during regular ours, this place has great prices on alcohol. The food always comes out magically fast, even when it's crowded. read more

This Mexican restaurant was ok. We sat down right when it opened and the service was attentive. We got our drinks np, and chips and salsa came quickly. Nothing fabulous, just tasty chips and basic salsa (not spicy). I ordered a salad and a tamale. They were both good, average. I had order guacamole but they forgot. The servers were attentive but did not really seem committed. We sat outdoors and it was comfortable and I enjoyed the patio. Not likely to go back with so many other choices that are great! First let me say that the food at Fiesta Grande has been acceptable each time I have been but the service is what drops my rating to a one or two star. For example this weeks visit the place was busy but there was only a 5 minute wait to get a table but then it was a hour wait for our food. I had to ask for drink and chip refills from the waitress. Then our dinner arrived 2 our of the 7 were completely wrong not even close to what was ordered. Several were cold where they had set before being brought to the table. The waitress brought two flan to the table as a apology with out asking if we wanted it of which people were diabetic and could not eat it or did not like flan so that was a waste. I don't really like rating restaurants super low, but I had to do this due to poor customer service. When I got to the restaurant with my party, the people at the front did not ask us for a number so we just began to wait. Then they proceeded to give another larger group, that didn't have a reservation, seating right away and made us wait. Finally after going back up again to ask when we would be seated they gave us a beeper. However, the beeper did not even work and they blamed us for that. Like how would we have known your beeper was defective??? Along with this, there's an uneven pavement by the restaurant that is dangerous for elderly and people with disabilities to safely enter. Super disappointed since I was so excited to try this place out. read more

I love this place, the authentic atmosphere and the food is mouth watering the margaritas are truly Grand especially at happy hour! Oh and have you tasted the Tamales? Delicious! Love me some Mexican and this place hit the spot. I ordered the lunch special with an enchilada and burrito which also came with rice and beans. It was so good but there was so much food I had to take half of it home. We did start with chips and salsa and we added guacamole. Two for one drinks all day, until 7 pm. Only open until 9:30 pm. Food was great. To me, Mexican all seems to be roughly the same in regards to presentation. Each of my assortment platter were a little different in tasted, which was nice. Free chips and salsa were plentiful and refilled. Great service by a latin/spanish staff. I have been here four times and love the food, the prices and service are also decent. Now my problem with this restraunt is that everytime iv gone its extreamly loud and alot of the customers are loud and obnoxious. They seem to cater more to the large drinking partys then the regular customers. Now id be willing to over look all that because i like the food. But today me and my wife attemted again to have lunch here and as usual it was loud inside, outside was packed. They started to assemble four tables for a large crowed comeing in and we politly asked to be moved to the back room. Which we were denied. So they had no problem catering to the incomeing traffic but couldnt accomadate the present customers. So we left. I shouldnt have to be subjected to a large party in a small room when im droping money myself. Thats ok i wont be returning. read more

My wife and I wanted to get a light lunch while we were at the plant fair this last weekend. We stopped in here and although it was busy we were able to get a seat at a high top at the side of the bar. Our friendly waitress came right over and helped us with suggestions on something we could share. We shared a beef quesadilla and each had a Dos Equis on draft. They also bring salsa and chips as soon as you sit down. The quesadilla was excellent. You could taste the quality and there were four pieces laid out for us to share. It was plenty for both of us for lunch and with the two draft beers only $21.00. The place was nice inside and it wasn't noisy although it was crowded in the main room. First irritation: they don't let anyone thru the doors until exactly noon so you're waiting on the heat and humidity. Second irritating thing: we were the second group thru the door out of eight groups and the LAST one waited on!! The food was ok, nothing to write home about just another Mexican restaurant. This is probably the best Mexican restaurants in central FL! Boyfriend ordered the "Lunch Special #2" which contained 1 enchilada, 1 Taco, and 1 chalupa. The enchilada was HUGE! Filled with perfectly seasoned and cooked beef. The taco and chalupa were freshly made, combining the cold and warm ingredients perfectly. I ordered the Lunch Chicken Fajitas. They were served with a plate of sizzling chicken, onions, peppers, and tomatoes. It also included a side of NOT canned refried beans but FRESH, lettuce, pico de gallo, and rice. Served with 3 warm (what seemed like home made) flour tortillas. Overall, the meal was delicious with the perfectly marinated meat, sizzling entrees, and great service! Highly recommend. read more

I reside in downtown mt dora and have tried this place a few times over the years since they opened. My first visit was horrible, food was gross and had an awful flavor. Stayed away for a year or two then went back with the family in tow, this time the food was a bit better, average mexican food. Service was decent. Update: a few more visits and the food has gotten better!! Service was good. Food came out quickly, cooked well, seasoned nicely, just yummy! Beware!!! This place permits smoking on their outdoor serving area. Totally gross! So if you wanna sit outside in a nice day while eating your meal, forget about it! Its like being in an ashtray. Always a fan of a "combo" plate and their Combination D had my name on it. The trifecta - a taco, a burrito and an enchilada and three were delicious and with enough sauce left over for the remaining chips. Went here for lunch today. I looked on Yelp for good Mexican and this place didn't disappoint. The salsa had more of a tomato taste than I'm used too but it had a little spice to it which was good. Ok so, this place has been here 6 years.... Shame on us for not having visited sooner!! Granted, it's off the main Mount Dora drag, but PLEEZ, put it on your map. It's only one block north and definitely worth the trip. My margarita was made fresh, with my choice of tequila (Corralejo) and a whole squeezed-in-front-of-me lime. Hubby's XX Amber was on tap and, for a mere $3 at all times, a real freaking bargain. And clean lines...bonus!! I had the Molcajete mixto, a delicious mixed grill made in a 'molcajete' (heated basalt mortar) and served with fresh flour tortillas. Hubby had the steak chimichanga. Both were über fresh and utterly delicious. The tortilla chips are house made as is the salsa, which had a delightful kick. Actually, we were told (very proudly) everything is made fresh every day! We sat at the bar (as we do in most places) and service was quick, friendly and helpful. We will definitely go back, check this place out again and make sure it's not a fluke. But, based on other Yelper's reviews, I think we're good to go. read more

Atmosphere is great, the Mogahinti (so) is outstanding. The fajitas are pretty good, RNC enchiladas are average. I have ordered the carne asada is the one dish that I have tried several times and won't try again. Very disappointing. We meet our son and his wife and daughter there.
