Busy on a Saturday evening (which means you know its good!) but our group of 5 were able to be sat pretty soon after arrival. (To my knowledge, they don't take reservations.) They had 2 for 1 Margaritas which basically mean you get a large mug with 2 margs in it. Very tasty and you can choose a flavor as well. Food was filling and flavorful. Staff is young and inattentive of the customers, from the hostesses to the waiter somebody needs to do a major lesson in customer service to the staff. As to the food I have to say the table salsa was way above par, I just wish that the rest of the meal even came close to the salsa. I had the carnitas burrito both the pork and beans had very little flavor, my wife chicken flautas tortilla wraps were so over cooked that only the middles were fit to eat and then the chicken was almost tasteless. Service was fine but the food was not and the atmosphere of smoking outside is awful. We were surrounded by smokers and it was just unpleasant. I really hate Mexican food that is made with all queso cheese dip - the onion and cheese enchiladas had no onions in them and the cheese was queso dip! Gross!!! I want real, shredded cheeses that are melted not some saucy cheese dip that doesn't come apart. That stuff just grosses me out. I won't go back. The chips and salsa were just ok but I wasn't fancy about them either. The salsa was maybe the best part of the meal plus maybe the rice... but I asked for my meal without beans and they still included them. The food is good but as someone who's vegan or anyone vegetarian eating here. All their food comes with rice. The rice is made with chicken stock and flagged as vegan on the menu like wtf. That's totally not ok and an extreme red flag. I know I've eaten here before and ate the rice. I'm really upset about the fact that it's not remotely transparent and marked with a big "VEGAN" stamp when in fact it's brought to you with chicken stock infused into everything. Extremely dishonest and really disrespectful. The food is good if you are very specific in ordering and not going by what's supposed to be a menu flag to make sure you aren't eating meat. The service was ok. I felt avoided after being bothered by the meat in the vegan food deal. She was nice and it was fast. I get it it's not services fault but I will be sharing this bad info to black list this place from great places with vegan options that we found this place through. This sucks, we really liked this place but won't be coming back. :( read more

Awesome Mexican gem in downtown Mount Dora! Fiesta Grande has fantastic drinks (definitely recommend trying one of their margaritas-especially during 2 for 1 happy hour!) and delicious food at decent prices. We started with chips, queso and salsa. The queso was a traditional white queso and was not spicy at all. If you're afraid of spice there is no reason to shy away from this! For dinner my boyfriend had the quesadillas with fajita steak and they were outstanding! The steak was seasoned perfectly and the quesadillas were crisp and not soggy like you see in other places. I had the chori pollo special and it was fantastic! It's a combination of chorizo and chicken with bell peppers and onions in a wonderful cheese sauce. It comes with rice, beans and a guacamole salad. It had an amazing flavor and was something different from any other Mexican restaurant I've been to. We've heard good things about this place and since I'm originally from an area with excellent and authentic Mexican food, thought today was a good day to stop in with my visiting daughter and young grandson. We weren't sure if it was a "seat yourself " establishment or if there was a hostess to seat you as no one was near the hostess stand when we arrived. We asked a lady a few times what we should do and she finally nodded, pointed and told us to find a table and someone would be over. As a guest whose only lived in Florida for 3 months at this point, I'll be right up front to say that for a "tourist" state, Florida could do better in terms of customer service and efficiency. (Insert eye roll here). Y'all would never make it up north anywhere with some of the rudeness and/or lack of hustle that we've experienced and it's technically not even SEASON. Rant over. Once our server gal stopped by our table with menu's (10 minute wait) she was friendly and quick to bring us water, chips/salsa and to take our drink order. She left us hanging for a bit longer than usual to return for our actual order, but we weren't starving, so she gets a pass. Gson ordered a chicken quesadilla with rice & beans, daughter ordered nearly the same, but adult version with guacamole. I'm a sucker for enchiladas and ordered a chicken enchilada with guacamole... but I'm pretty sure I received a chicken burrito with sour cream and a side of guacamole. ‍ It wasn't worth mentioning as we'd waited long enough for our meals... food was cooked to temp and tasted fine. There are people who love this place, but I am not one of them. It really is a matter of personal taste. Having lived in S. Texas for 33 years, I don't like Gringo Mexican food and that's what the food is here. It has no soul. Every dish tastes the same to me. Not enough chili, not enough cumin, not enough cilantro, not enough of any traditional flavors including the salsa. It tastes as if all of the ingredients came out of packages from Publix. I've noticed some Mexican restaurants tend to cover everything in insane amounts of cheese- however that was not the case here. I ordered the vegetarian chicken fajitas (yes!) served sizzlin' and fresh. Came with rice, beans, sour cream, guacamole, and pico on the side. My dad had the vegan spinach dish (served with vegan cheese!) What?! I didn't know restaurants served dishes like this that aren't 100% vegan. Drove from Orlando to Mount Dora, a couple days before NYE to see Christmas lights. Before walking around, my boyfriend and I stopped at Fiesta Grande for dinner. It was a Wednesday night, but crazy busy due to the holiday (I imagine there's a similar crowd on the weekends). The wait was 30 minutes, no problem. While we waited I went inside to use the restroom - this is where things got pretty uncomfortable. The place is a moderate size, crowded with people and there was only one bathroom operational. Mid Covid there's a line of maskless people standing right in the middle of the restaurant talking and casually walking around. Although I was veryyy uncomfortable, there's not much that could have been done differently other than the workers enforcing mask wearing. As for the food and service, I'm giving 4 stars because nothing about it was bad. But there's also nothing unique about the experience. I had a taco salad, my boyfriend had a burrito. The Jalapeño margaritas we ordered were huge (non-happy hour size), but tasted like standard margarita mix with a splash of tequila, shaken with jalapeño slices. If you're in the area and craving Tex-Mexish food and margaritas, Fiesta Grande will probably hit the mark. If you're being precautious of Covid safety measures, I recommend coming during off hours or ordering take-out (also sitting outside was a bit easier to distance). read more
