Mexican Restaurant located in fern creek more towards the Mount Washington border line in a shopping center behind outback steak house. I had dined here around 6 years ago or so but couldn't remember my experience whatsoever. So decided to give the place another whirl today. I'll start off and say the ambience is very nice and the place has a good feeling atmosphere. The customer service we received was top notch. They checked on us a bunch and kept our drinks full. No complaints on atmosphere or setting at all. The food itself to me was very bland. Starting with the complimentary chips and salsa. Neither the mild nor the hot salsa had any flavor. It was almost like taking wal mart brand chips and dipping them in tostadas salsa. I personally ordered the #27. Which was one quesadilla, one burrito and one Enchilada. The quesadilla was a cheese and the other two had chicken in them. The chicken was very bland abd dry and the lack of cheese on all 3 was very noticeable. My wife got the steak ranchero and said it was the chewiest steak she has ever had. Also said they loaded the thing with bell peppers. She was not a fan. My other 3 daughters had mixed experiences. The 4th one is 1 years old and was smashing the tortilla chips so she was a fan I guess. My oldest got the burrito roja. She loved hers. I tried a bite and I will say it was much better than anything else I tasted there. So if I was to recommend any dish it would be the burrito roja. My 2nd and 3rd daughters got kids meals. One got chicken fingers (they actually are nugget shaped which she prefers) and the other got a cheeseburger. Both kids meals had plenty of substance so that was nice. My daughter who got the nuggets said they were "crunchy and interesting". Which I thought was a weird description. So I tried one and I would say that the nuggets are "crunchy and interesting". The other one said the cheeseburger was just ok. Price wasn't bad. Just over 50 to feed 5 1/2 and there was plenty of substance. Honestly we enjoyed every part of the visit. Everything was there, the ambience, atmosphere, service, free chips and salsa, and large food portions. It's just unfortunate the food was just so blatantly bland and flavorless and honestly just not cooked or prepared well. This May be why my wife nor I remembered out visit here at all 6 years ago. My Facebook memories was our only confirmation it happened. read more

My daughter and I stopped in here this afternoon for a quick lunch. It was around 1145 and it wasn't very crowded and we got seated immediately. The service staff is all very nice and I really like the ambience of the place had a lot of cool day of the dead type things in there. Had that one Coco looking character and I've seen in movies Mexican culture types of things. The service staff was very nice the waitress was friendly the guy that bought the chips and salsa was friendly. The food came out very quickly I ordered lunch combo 2 with a burrito and rice beans. It was really good and filling for 6 bucks. My daughter got two soft tacos with no lettuce and she gave them a 5 out of 5. We had a great time and will be back for more. read more

When I want to travel a bit farther for lunch, I always end up at my favorite Mexican spot. The service is always quick and the food always hot. I normally get the nachos supreme appetizer as a meal. It's enough food for two people to share. All of their portion sizes are pretty large. They have a skinny margarita that is one of the best I've had in Louisville. They don't use mix which is why it's so flavorful. For an after work treat, the margarita is a must try for a newbie. read more

This place is normally very good, but tonight it was very disappointing. Was seated as soon as we walked in and the waitress came and got our order immediately. Then the wait began. One hour and fifteen minutes later we received our food. Waitress said the kitchen was backed up. Looking around everyone that was in the restaurant had their food. Then we noticed all of the carry out orders going out the door. This COVID nonsense has turned this world upside down with craziness. Omg! I just moved to Fern Creek after living abroad for two years and I was craving Mexican food super bad. My family and I came here for dinner and I was absolutely blown away. The service and the food were both phenomenal. Not only do they have Tex Mex style food but they also have authentic Mexican food. My dad, who only loves his mom's mole sauce, loved their mole. They even gave him a sample to try before he ordered! I ordered their street tacos. Our server Adrian (who was the best, by the way) told us we could mix and match the meats in our tacos so I got two al pastor and one carne asada. My sis got one carnitas and two al pastor and we split an order of beans and rice. Adrian also informed me that they didn't have cherry coke and when I inquired about it but offered me regular coke with grenadine- and it tasted just like (if not better than) the real thing! All of the food was delicious and the service was top notch. The staff made us feel like regulars even though it was my first visit. I will DEFINITELY be back. I loved this place so much! read more

Ive visited this located multiple times for work lunch meetings. I love them because they are super fast, it's always a great value and they have lots of options. We never have to wait to be seated and are prompted greeted with chips and salsa and asking for drink orders. Our lunch orders are out within 10 minutes or so. The location is a small strip in the heart of Glenmary on Bardstown road, in the strip behind the Outback Steakhouse. They also have drink specials but I've never been here during non work hours to partake in their drink specials. Super affordable, three people can eat for less than thirty bucks and we can get in and out in less than an hour. read more

I might revise this the next time I go, but here's the thing- On the menu, the carne asada is described as roast beef. Red flags went up everywhere. Carne asada is supposed to be made from skirt or flank steak, grilled and seared quickly. I thought maybe they just misprinted the menu and went ahead and ordered it anyway because it's my go-to dish. When it came out, it was clearly a chuck steak, made from a slice of chuck roast, grilled and seared, not roasted. If you've ever made a chuck roast, you know that it's tough as leather unless it's slow cooked for hours. Well, what I got when it was served was a slice of tough leather with huge chunks of fatty gristle, which normally would have melted away when cooking the chuck roast slowly as intended. Side note: the peppers and onions were close to raw, so those weren't good, either. Moral of the story: Don't get the carne asada. It's probably the worst carne asada I have ever had. And I couldn't even say anything because it was cooked as described on the menu. I would never in my life guess I'd see chuck roast seared and served like this, but here we are. It's 2020. Toss out the rules, I guess. read more

Service was not very friendly and we had multiple mistakes with our order. The food's mediocre, you can get better Mexican at most other places. I always see this place when I got to my bank in Fern Creek and think it is interesting. It is in a shopping center and looks to be small. I wonder how they are able to fit everything into this little place. So, I finally decided to take the plunge and try it out. After all, it is Mexican, and I love me some tacos. Walking into it was a tad bit confusing. While it was crowded, and small, we did not know whether to seat ourselves or wait for someone to approach us. There was not a hosts area but finally someone that was always serving grabbed us a booth. The décor was interested; they had painted "exposed brick" randomly on the walls. But the booths were large and could easily seat 3-4 people on each side. The two of us had more than enough elbow room. The service was okay. We had to ask for refills on our drinks and more chips for our salsa. However, the menu is MASSIVE. It was a bit overwhelming because it was so large. There was one item that was pictured on the menu, but we could not locate it. So we asked the serve and he should us a random item on the bottom corner of the menu. He explained they ran out of run so they just put the item description on a different page than the photo. The food was good and large in portion. I ended up getting the half size of the shrimp nachos. They were very good but took almost 3 minutes to cool down before I could try them. The half size was more than enough for me. I am sure the full size would be sharable for two people. My date got the chicken and steak "quesadilla." with rice. I say it is a "quesadilla" because it was more like a taco. It was not melted together like a pocket of meat and cheese. We were both a little confused, but the server said it was the quesadilla. He ended up taking home one of them because the portions are large. It would not be my first pick for a Mexican restaurant because it was cramped. Dishes ordered: 1st time: (Combo#11) Burrito, taco, enchilada, 2nd time: (Combo#23) Burrito, chalupa, tamale Review: Fairly standard Mexican food but with reasonable prices, solid portions, and free chips and salsa. My food on the second visit was better than the first so that bumps it up from a 2 to a 2.5. Pretty confident I can find some superior Mexican restaurants nearby though. read more
