My wife and came here about 12:30pm on a Friday for lunch. She loves Mexican food and we have been to the location in Stead on several occasions. We have always enjoyed it. It was not too busy and we were told to have a seat where we liked. We chose a booth along the wall. The booth on my side of the table felt like the cushion was gone in the middle and my chin was on the table. I just moved a bit toward the wall, but my wife commented to me not to lean against the wall. I looked and it appeared to not have been cleaned in a while. There were all sorts of different colors and specks on it. I wish I took a picture but I did not. The remainder of the restaurant looked clean but the booths along the side of the restaurant should be ripped out and replaced. The server brought us menus and took our drink orders. We were familiar with the menu since we have been to their other location. I chose the enchiladas lunch special and my wife likes their chimichangas so she ordered that. Our food arrived in a timely manner and looked yummy and the server was attentive. We enjoyed our meals and appreciated the fast service since we had to get back to work. We came in for a weekday lunch craving something cold and blended, and also something hot and saucy. For the former, we tried a Guava Margarita that was advertised on their specials board. Sooo good! It was creamier than most blended Margs I've had and the Guava flavor was perfect, not too overwhelming. It didn't taste alcoholic in the least, but that's not always a bad thing. The food menu is extensive! Since I didn't see any options for a combination plate, I went with the sopes. My better half opted for the enchiladas with al pastor and green sauce. We barely had time to sip our Margaritas and nibble on the fresh warm chips and spicy salsa before the food arrived. It was SO quick! Everything was steaming hot but we dove right in. The sope base was crispy on the outside and soft and dense on the inside with plenty of masa flavor permeating through. The toppings - carnitas, lettuce, tomato, crema, and cotija - worked in beautiful harmony and made me a very happy panda! My boyfriend's enchiladas were good, but the real shining star of the whole thing was that green enchilada sauce. Holy tomatillo, was it good!! Tangy, deep, delicious sauce that I could drink by the cup full. I highly recommend getting that green sauce on everything! The only reason for the missing star is that the rice was basic, lacking some flavor, and the beans were nothing special. I love traditional Mexican food, but I appreciate when all those good Latin spices and flavors are infused in all aspects of the dish. Overall, I really dig this place! Today I was in the area and saw this restaurant and thought I would give it a try. The sign said no happy hour and you need to call for reservation. There was hardly anyone in the parking lot so I popped my head in to see if I could have dinner at the bar by myself? They said you need a reservation and no bar service. I said I need to call you now to eat inside? They said we have a table for you, but next time need a reservation. I could see it if they were busy, but only a couple tables had people. I ordered a top shelve Margarita, I didn't really taste any tequila and I've had better else where. The chicken chimichanga was delicious and I asked for the green sauce and it was super tasty. The chips were good and the red salsa was super spicy. The people were very nice and the service was quick. I'd probably go back, but I do have my favorite locations when dining out for Mexican and I don't need a reservation there; always welcoming with open arms when they see me. read more

Perfect spot if you want some good food but don't have a lot of time. This place is pretty speedy for a sit down restaurant. Stopped by for lunch and found the menu to be pretty traditional. Lots of different options for those who, unlike me, like to explore different flavors. I pretty much have 2 speeds when it comes to Mexican food - tacos or enchiladas. This day I felt like tacos so I had the soft shell chicken tacos. They were good but not as much flavor as I typically like but a spoonful of the green salsa fixed that. I also ordered the queso fundido, you had your choice of jalapeño or chorizo, I chose the jalapeño.It was not at all good! The cheese was not really melted so was similar to just a congealed mess in a bowl. I've had queso fundido many times at different places that carry it and this was not the norm. The food and service was mediocre. Nothing special that I would go out of my way for. We were there for about an hour and a half and the waitress came by once to check on us, never asked if we wanted another drink or refill on waters. The thing that really leaves a bad taste in my mouth is I know for a fact I walked in with sunglasses on my head, set them on the table while we ate. Unfortunately, I forgot them on the table when we left but we walked right next door to Under Your Skin and as soon as I walked in there, I realized I forgot my sunglasses and came running back. Not even 5 min had passed and the table was already cleaned and all the waitresses claimed they didn't see any sunglasses. Asked to speak to the manager and was told they were not there. Whoever took them, I hope you enjoy your new pair of Versace sunglasses and truly hope that karma gets you when you least expect it. UPDATE 8/21: I got my glasses back today. Received a message here on Yelp last night from an employee that said they found them in the bathroom and have been trying to contact me multiple times to let me know. I didn't leave them my name or number, but my sister did and according to her, she hasn't received any missed calls or voicemails. I called the restaurant this morning to confirm that they did have the glasses and spoke to a manager, did not give her name. When I went to pick up my glasses today at the restaurant, I was told an employee had found them in the very back of the bathroom shortly after they went missing and someone supposedly called the number that we left twice and left voicemails. I did not take these glasses into the bathroom with me, especially since we were not leaving yet. I also checked the bathroom twice before we left that day. And why would I only take my sunglasses, but not my purse? I asked if they had cameras in the restaurant, and she said they did, but the recordings are only stored up to a week and it's been about a week and a half. Convenient. She also asked that I update or remove my review. I'm not saying theft occurred here, but this is what happened and my takeaway here still leaves me very sus. The Place: Located on North McCarran Blvd inside a shopping center, this restaurant offers authentic Mexican food with a casual, family ambiance. The place offers comfortable seating for couples or bigger groups. The Food: Mexican food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Open to the public from 10 am until 9 pm. The menu offers reasonably priced food with generous sizing portions. Some of the items I have ordered here: "Carne Asada" -grilled skirt steak, rice & beans, guacamole, pico, and tortillas. I enjoyed it! It had a good taste and was juicy. There is a carne asada option that brings a cheese enchilada. I tried it, and it was good. "Tacos al pastor and cheese enchiladas." Not a big fan of their tacos al pastor. They did not have pineapple, and the flavor was just OK. Cheese enchiladas were good. My favorite thing to get while waiting for food is a Cadillac Margarita with Gran Manier and Casamigos tequila. I like the chips and salsa; the green salsa is spicy! But I can't stop eating it. We normally get guacamole. One time I tried the "Enchilada Suiza" from my husband's plate and it was amazing!! The Service: The staff is friendly and amicable. Service is a little slow sometimes. There usually is a group of three people working here, but only one girl is the one who does most of the work; the other two people just stay in the counter. The consistency of the amazingness is outstanding, truly! As a Latina that has lived on the best and most authentic Hispanic food from both sides of my family, it's hard to love restaurants. For starters, I'm addicted with the happy hour well margaritas. I'm no connoisseur, but I'd like to think I know good and not so great tequila. Let me tell ya, the well margaritas are THE RAGE just as much as the others. Hubby and I have a thing for the Cadillac margs! Now, I'm no a fan of blended margs, but one of the bartenders suggested a mango and I loved every sip! Also, you can't go wrong with the loaded michelada, trust me, they're incredible. Note: Their happy hour at all three locations is EVERY DAY from 3-6!! What?! Okay so the staff of course are rad, I absolutely love that they treat you just like family. Super friendly, attentive, knowledgeable about the menu/ingredients and extra things on hand. The one in Sparks (recently) is pretty well staffed. Even in the down time, if the traffic picks up, you're still served quick and your cup is always full. Okay, now... THE FOOOD!! Can't go wrong, like, with anything! It's all so good and I have a few favorites to share. The mole is juuust to die for, I may or may not love it more than my grandmas! Shhh, don't tell her! I drive by La Fiesta Mexicana now and then, and it's always busy. I told my wife, "let's try it." This is a really cool little Mexican restaurant; colorfully decorated, good chairs, and nice people. It smells good when you walk in, and they greet you immediately even though they're busy. We looked at the menu and agreed the prices are great, and the menu looks fun. Now, if the food is good... I had dos enchiladas suizas (shredded beef), there are many choices for meat: al pastor, carne asada, chicken, and more... I also had a chile relleno. I am very critical of the chile relleno, and this is a good one! Rice and beans of course. Delicious enchiladas. My wife had the carne asada of course, her usual. After encountering a line of customers being ignored at another nearby taqueria, I cruised up the hill to Fiesta Mexicana for an impromptu Taco Tuesday fiesta. They offer a Monday & Tuesday special of 10 tacos for $10.99, and it comes with a mound of chips & green or red salsa too! Perfect for sharing! The pastor and asada tacos were pretty good, the carnitas and chicken tacos we're a tad bit dry, but all were tasty, and we remedied the slightly drier meats with their salsa. Their chips could have been a little fresher, but the green salsa that accompaied our order was awesome. The red salsa was OK, but had an almost umami fishy taste. They quoted 10 min for my 20 taco take-out order, and I should have known that was almost too good to be true. About 20 min & a little over 20 bucks for 20 tacos, I was on my way! Still not too bad! Overall, good food and good service. The place is festive & kitschy all at once. We're definitely interested in trying this full menu & happy hour specials for future dine in. read more

I randomly went to this location because I was craving Mexican food and it was nearby -- I'm so glad I went in. Their meats are really delicious! I think it's hard for people to make good lengua, but theirs was perfect. The carne asada was the best I've had in Reno and the chicken was good as well. Besides tacos, I ordered their super burrito with al pastor and my only complaint about that, is that their al pastor was not as great as their other meats. It was not bad, but I've definitely had better. The burrito overall was still pretty good. I also ordered a classic margarita on the rocks, and I couldn't finish it because it wasn't that great. It tasted like it had Jose Cuervo and I'm just not a fan of that. It was also overwhelmingly sweet (and I usually love sweet drinks). I did not give them 4 stars because of the drink because I know that some people would've loved the marg. The reason why I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because the service wasn't amazing? Our server took our order and brought us drinks; after that I don't think we saw her again. Other tables near us had gotten their checks so we assumed it would be brought to us too -- we waited for about 20 minutes (after finishing our food) for our check and it never arrived. We ended up just going to the front. *Side Note: this place is really affordable! So we're waiting in line to order at Del Taco and I say to my partner 'why don't we try that place?' He says 'with that name it's gotta be some gringo yellow cheese Mexican food'. Skip forward a couple of months and my partner comes to me and says 'oh my God my sister and I just had the most amazing Mexican food at that Fiesta Mexicana place'. Great food we had a large family to name all the items but I had the chilaquiles and they were great my wife had the carne de res ensebollada and she loved it we are from California and she can't wait to go back, my mother had the molcajete and it looks great and she loved it,. I strongly recommend the ala carte tacos - awesome! I do not recommend the meals. I paid $10.99 for dried out rice and beans which was supposed to have been the #16, two enchiladas with rice and beans. The plate contained two tiny tortillas with one spoonful of chicken. The entire enchilada filling consisted of one forkful of unseasoned checken. Nothing else. Greasy tortilla I wouldnt eat, even if I had a hangover, a single bite of tasteless chicken and dried out rice and beans. $10.99. I pointed out and commented about the extremely small meal to the waiter before I took a bite and he brushed it off. Fyi, the hamburger they use is gross - always go with chicken or shredded beef. I usually order either albondigas soup or the shrimp with garlic. I order ed the soup. My husband ordered creamy enchiladas. Their service is good and the chips and salsa are ok. For some reason the soup was not as tasty as usual. There were not enough meatballs and the broth was watery and lacked authentic flavor. It wasn't very hot. I love vegetables, however there were entirely too many zucchini's and other vegetables. The soup in the past has been better. Not so sure I would order it again. My husband really enjoyed his enchiladas. He said they had tastes and the chili sauce wasn't too spicy. But just enough spice to call it good. Pulled up to the parking lot on a Saturday evening and it was packed, which is a good sign. Got seated right away and our waitress was quick to take our drink orders. We ordered basic meals: an al pastor burrito and enchiladas with green sauce. They were fabulous. The green sauce was the best I have ever tasted. I literally enabled the enchiladas. My husband, who wasn't very hungry when we arrived, ate his entire monster-sizes burrito. This is probably the best Mexican food in Reno/Sparks and believe me when I say we try them all.
