The sopa de pollo and live mariachi band were the stars of the night at Fiesta Mexico. A great spot off rt 303 if you're hankering for good tasting Mexican food and a good ambiance. Our server seemed a little discombobulated at times, brought out a couple incorrect drinks, and included cheese on a dish where no cheese or dairy was requested. All in all, some good highs and a few lows - but I'd still go back again!

We noticed Fiesta on Cinco de Mayo after wrapping up with a Lowe's Kitchen consultation. Bypassed it because it was jam-packed and didn't want to deal with that mess. But Fiesta seemed like it deserved a visit a second time around. This place screams prime real estate with a nice outdoor seating area. Stucco exterior, arches, Spanish roof tiles- to the glossy terracotta flooring and wooden ceiling beams inside- Fiesta in Orangeburg, has bold Hacienda elements. Greeting was pleasant and seated immediately. Chips are warm but thin, salsa was sweet and watery- resembling soup. Red Sangria had a nice kick and the Guacamole was a miss. Avocado tasted faint and was way too smooth to resemble Guacamole. My fish dish in creamy garlic sauce was fresh and quite tasty but was drowned in that sauce and wished it had less....way less. Hubs' Chicken for his fajitas wasn't charred as he wanted it. When he asked our server, all he said nonchalantly was, "that's how we've been doing it for the last 35 years" and shrugged his shoulders. That's it. I'm not sure what's Fiesta's strong suit- but our meal was tasty- but different.

We've been coming here for over 20 years! They make their complimentary tortilla chips in house and they are addictive! Their salsa is also delicious (I add hot sauce to mine because there's is mild). They even give you the chips and salsa with your to go orders. Their enchiladas are my favorite and it is only $10. Their burritos are around $8. Super affordable and delicious! They also have live music on certain nights!

I came in with high hopes and expectations. While the service was fast and the host was funny and friendly, I was disappointed by the food (though the house chips were good, and there's live music ~6). Prices were pretty average and the overall flavors were not the best. The rice was a disappointment - under seasoned - and the refried beans tasted...weird. I usually LOVE refried beans, but these had cheese on the top and the overall flavor of the beans themselves was just off. I ended up not eating them. Guacamole came with 3 of the dishes, and I thought the portion was a little skimpy. And the portions overall were small for a Mexican restaurant. If I leave feeling not 120% full from a Mexican restaurant, something's wrong . Specific notes on the dishes we ordered: 1. Chicken Enchiladas with Mole Sauce: I've had amazing mole sauce, and I've had this one. It was fine, but a really good mole sauce has extremely balanced flavors from all the ingredients (there are like 20 in mole sauce). This mole sauce had something overpowering about it, which I was disappointed by. 2. Tamales (appetizer): Good (my favorite out of all of them), but still could use more spices 3. Beef Chimichangas: It would've been good to have cheese inside because it was a little dry. 4. Chicken Fajitas: Average 5. Chicken Flautas: There was no sauce, so I would've liked the chicken to be more seasoned. It was also a little dry.

The food is good. It's not fancy, and that should keep the snobs away, but it has the essential combination of scent, visuals, taste and the inner warmth a cook who loves a dish can make. You can do the El Typico half chicken, tacos which my sons say are rocking, steak platters in all their various combinations, and these wee Jammie cake style pupusa things. A novelty for me, very popular in Latin America apparently, they are enclosed buckwheat pancakes with a choice of fillings. Some of which you've never heard of, so try them. This is grass roots cooking, and I am a fan. In a low sodium World, the tropical propensity for salt is punkette, the spice combinations are unfamiliar but pleasing. Part of the meal I ate was a little dry, but that's what the excellent salsa is for, and everyone at the table is coming back. There is no booze, which is a good thing in working mens establishments playing football, and the while the drinks selection is authentic it is limited. Expect to pay fifteen bucks a head per adult, leaving plenty of opportunity for a jumbo tip. Don't go if you are stuck up.

No frills, no flashy atmosphere -- just comida auténtica and seriously satisfying flavors. I ordered the carne asada nachos and an order of tacos al pastor, and both hit the spot perfectly. Fresh ingredients, bold flavor, and that classic street-style taco taste that instantly lifts your ánimo on a gloomy day. The nachos were loaded, cheesy, and packed with flavor, while the al pastor tacos were simple, fresh, and delicioso. And yes... we washed it all down with a Coke Zero in a glass bottle because somehow it siempre tastes better that way. Now, if you're looking for upbeat energy and polished service, este lugar probably isn't it. The staff seemed a bit inexperienced and lacked motivation. But where the service fell short, the kitchen absolutely delivered with authentic flavors and generous portions. Sometimes the best spots are the quiet little hole-in-the-wall places that let the food do all the talking.

I have tried both the Jerk Chicken Salad (on my third visit) and the Chipotle Chicken Pasta (my second visit), and honestly the pasta won for me.
