While walling around the District, I knew I wanted to grab dinner. After walking by Fife & Farro, I took a quick peek at the online menu and walked in. Sat at the bar and had such an enjoyable experience. The bartender was fantastic, with great recommendations. I had the Pesto Margarita to start. I was just too intrigued by it to pass it up. It was so good, subtle sweetness with a pop of savory. The rimmer even had parmesan! I also tried some of the Fritto Misto tempura veggies, which were also delicious. They had me at shishito peppers. I ended up having the Lumache pasta for dinner. A potato fondue sauce? Sign me up! The bartender basically said it was a really an amplified mac & cheese. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it was much more. I added on another drink, the Amaretto Fumo. This was something unexpected, almost like a sweet and smoky sour. I can see where it wouldn't be for everyone, but I thought it was good. I would highly recommend a stop here if you're in the Pearl Historic District. read more

It was my first time in Pullman Market and off course the aroma in the air made me HUNGRY! Pizza is my culinary weakness so I went and checked out the menu, and the girl at the to-go counter was excellent with explaining everything and the freshness of the ingredients. I went with the pepperoni pizza, probably the best pepperoni I've ever had in my life. It has a nice meaty flavor without being excessively, greasy or salty. I got the gluten-free crust and had them cook it a little bit longer, so it was nice and crispy. After eating my pizza, I decided I wanted to go back and try the Panna cotta because again the girl really talked it up and honestly, it was not as fabulous as I had hoped. The texture was much more like boiled egg and not creamy and oddly enough, it was very wet and watery and salty. What a total let down. Ordered the mozzarella appetizer which was basically a cold cheese log. Not good! Ordered the meatball appetizer 4 cold tiny tough meatballs that cost $17! That's just crazy! We also had the Americana pizza that had like barely one small piece of meet on each slice. I take that back one slice had no meat at all! Co-ed restrooms (weird for sure). Service was subpar and to top it off when it came time to pay the only choice was to leave a 22% tip! I did custom tip and left $10 on a $70 tip (you're welcome). I had lunch at this restaurant on a Wednesday. It wasn't too busy, so we were seated right away. I really wanted to start off with a Caesar salad, but they only come in one size and are shareable. My friend doesn't like Caesar salad, so I will have to go back and try it as I've heard great things about it. We started off with the focaccia garlic bread. The focaccia garlic bread was buttery and perfectly seasoned. It went well with our pasta dishes. I ended up getting the kale pesto pasta. It was a good size portion. If you like pesto, this is the one that you should get. The pasta was cooked to perfection. My friend got the wagyu beef ragu and liked it For my drink, I got the amaretto Fumo. I. It was OK. My second time being here, it's always very cute and clean but I had a much better experience the first time. The people at the host stand were extremely rude and off putting. I've never seen people working in the service industry be so mean and judgmental. The food was ok. We got focaccia and the caesar salad they were both pretty typical, nothing to write home about. I got carbonara and it was probably the worst carbonara I've had. It wasn't bad at all I've just had way better. Barely any guanciale and it was soggy. pasta was a perfect al dente on both the rigatoni and spaghetti. I'd honestly come back if it wasn't for the staff. The restaurant itself was a great vibe quiet and in the middle of the Pullman market perfect for a nice meal with a group. The pizza was delicious served hot and flavorful. I ordered the Americano and I definitely recommend it! All the flavor mixed perfectly and melted in your mouth. I wasn't the biggest fan of the appetizer because I thought it was a bit simple but still had great taste the mozzarella was a good flavor along with the peppers. The restaurant is really nice, great vibe. The food is ok. For the pepperoni pizza with cauliflower crust. When it came to the table it was warm, but we had to send it back because they didn't cut it causing it to be cold when we finally got it back. The meatballs were good but 4 for $17 is a bit excessive. The Cesar salad was $17 and they don't offer chicken so it was just a Cesar salad but a really good one and shareable for sure. We had 3 drinks and water. Over all the hill for 2 with too for lunch was $172 for 2 people. Will I hon back, NO! Not with these prices and the mediocre food. The service was the same as most places, nothing spectacular. I asked for a glass of ice because they do lot give ice with their water. I had to ask 3 times for the ice. I've been trying to get a seat for about a year now, but everytime we come it's always packed with a 25-45 min wait. Carbs and wine are what I wanted on a rainy December eve. Fife And Farro is located inside Pullman's Market in the ever-popular Pearl District. Since it was a Friday night, their reservations weren't open, but we could hop on their waitlist. With only a 15-minute wait, we were seated and promptly ordered espresso martinins and a bottle of wine. We also ordered the cacio pepe (very saucy, which I enjoyed), pizza margherita, and a Caesar salad. I think the salad was my favorite - crisp lettuce, a generous amount of shaved parm. We did have some plate envy, as the nearby table had the pesto pasta and the burrata... it was only two of us dining. So my biggest rec is to go with 4+ people and do family-style so you can taste and enjoy a variety of plates. read more

This was our first stop after driving from Austin for a little weekend getaway to celebrate our anniversary. This restaurant is located inside of the market and was very cool with indoor and outdoor seating, and a nice bar. We were seated right away and greeted by our server. I can't remember his name but he was very sweet and gave lots of recommendations. We each started with a drink - a spritz cocktail for my fiance and a glass of wine for me. We shared the massive caesar salad with about a pound of fresh grated parmesan cheese. I wouldn't usually order this, but knew we wanted to try it here. So good. We happened upon Fife and Farro during Restaurant Week and are we happy we did!!! It was $25 for an anti pasti plate. We choose the Alla Vodka and Clasico pizza, and the third course was a panna cota. OMG!!! All the things I didn't know about Italian food...how can I ever eat pasta anywhere else?!? Everything is made from scratch the antipasti plate would have been enough it was so good, but the Alla Vodka pasta was so delicious!! The pana cota was a little small. And one thing to note is that all the plates were shared. It was a perfect portion for lunch and we left totally satisfied!! The service was also great. All the food comes out as it is prepared. Enjoyed a couple glasses of wine while the bartender helped answer a couple menu questions and even offered some of their recommendations. While we waited for our party we ordered the Caesar Salad and wow.... Was it good! So good! And the portion size was enough for 2-3 people (but we split it between 2). I'd go back for this salad alone. Pizza: Clasico and Funghi. Tastes great, I personally would ask for it well done next time as I prefer a crispy bottom (no flop). This restaurant is located inside The Marketplace and the moment you get into the area you are transformed into a tranquil Italian space. The ambiance was beautiful. The service was amazing, we were greeting warmly and the service was quick and accurate. The best thing of all was that the food was so delicious. From the moment the plates came out the presentation was perfect. Every bite was just as good as the first. The food and service were both great. I tried the Margarita de Pesto and it was delicious. I wasn't expecting the Parmesan on the rim of the glass, but I found it fitting for the drink. I ordered the Spicy Boy pizza as my main dish. It had a good spice to it, but nothing overwhelming. I would say the perfect amount of spice for a pizza. The crust was perfectly cooked and tasted homemade. The interior was clean and well kept. I sat at the bar and found the seating to be quite comfy. The most subpar service I've had in a long time. I wanted to take my family out for a nice dinner, which we don't get to do often, especially since my grandmother was in town. From the start, service was poorly managed. Our appetizers were not timed together at all--everything came out as it was ready from the kitchen. This left some of us without food while we waited, and we had to share a small crudo between six people. Not exactly the experience you expect when dining out at this price point. We were seated in the back room next to the bathrooms, which wouldn't have been an issue if our server--who I believe was named Maris--had been attentive. Unfortunately, she barely checked on us and repeatedly visited the table near the doorway at least five times more than ours. I eventually had to raise my voice and say "ma'am" just to get her attention, as she would check the other table and immediately leave the room without looking our way. When she finally turned around, she seemed visibly annoyed. To make matters worse, I had to get up and ask another server for an espresso martini. When it arrived, it was served in the same glass used for water. The only reason I ordered it was because I saw another guest enjoying one beautifully presented in a coupe glass. If I'm paying $17 for a cocktail, presentation should match the price. I asked for it to be remade, but instead, another staff member brought back the same drink and claimed they didn't have any coupe glasses. When I spoke with the manager, even she agreed that they should have simply washed one. The food itself was good, but the overall experience was disappointing and not worth returning for--especially when there are plenty of other restaurants in the area offering better service for the same price. For a restaurant located at the Pearl with menu items ranging from $15-$25, this level of service is absolutely unacceptable. read more

It's sort of confusing like you have to let them know you're there then have to wait awhile despite a reservation and I dunno I didn't respond right on my phone so it suddenly said canceled. They sat us right away and were super nice about it. The alla vodka when she said it had a kick she meant it. A karate kick. I thought a little spice okay that's fine but this was insane lol. Wagyu pasta: "mouthwatering savory" not straying far from the Wagyu flavor base. definitely more of thin fettuccine pasta than tigliateli, the thin pasta is a better choice to support the shredded meat! The host was overly rude and rushed and inappropriately dressed for his job with a tube top shirt. He bumped into my elbow while i was sitting causing me to almost knock my fork on the ground and didn't even apologize or excuse himself. It made us uncomfortable and we should left right then and there. Our server was Sarina and she was fantastic. Very knowledgeable, educational, quick, funny and just over all, had an "on top it" attitude so we were happy with her. The food was subpar. We ordered the cesar salad. It had soooo much parmesan cheese on top of it you seriously couldn't tell there was a salad underneath. We also ordered the Americano pizza. It came to the table cold. The sauce was week and we think it was missing the mozzarella cheese. Also the ricotta cheese and the pesto had been placed on the pizza after it had been cooked in the wood fired oven. Maybe that's why it was cold. We had the Alla Vodka and the Pomodora too. It was good but it came out kind of cold as well. The price for this with non alcoholic drinks was just over $100. Pasta was absolutely amazing. I'm visiting friend from out of state with a another friend and she brought us to this restaurant. The pasta tasted so fresh and so delicious. The perfect texture. People say its a casual ambiance but I feel with the lighting and the interior design, it's a nice spot for a date night or a girls night out. I felt like the vodka sauce was just just a little bit lacking, and something in the pasta was a bit underdone, but good overall. The Wagyu beef pasta was very good as was the carbonara. My only real complaint is that if you're going to serve $20 pasta plates it should come with bread... Having to pay for a piece of bread to go with your pasta just to me seems really kind of unreasonable... But a good place and a good atmosphere and we will Most likely be back to try the pizza that we did not try that is made in a woodfired oven. A quick note about the service... The service was fine. The service was good. But walking into this place I expected the service to be exceptional so I was just a little bit letdown.
