This place is falsely advertised. Their website claims locally sourced trout and etc. but my fish and chips was clearly a piece of frozen cod. When I asked the waitress what type of fish I was eating, she said "catfish". I've had plenty of fried catfish in my life and this was definitely cod. The coleslaw was flavorless and the mac and cheese was mushy. The rest of my family members also felt as though their meals were extremely mediocre. read more

We had a wonderful dinner on the covered patio at Fightingtown Tavern with our two dogs. The staff was so friendly and our waiter, Scott H, was phenomenal! He gave great recommendations and we couldn't have been happier. I had the red ale and a Cuban with a side of street corn and my boyfriend had the taco Tuesday lager with the bahn jovi sandwich (a take on a bahn mi) and a side of the peach baked beans. I have mixed feeling because the food is actually quite good, but there were too many flags in one meal. I ordered the BBLT- it was good. It did not live to the hype the waiter gave it. It was supposed to be pork Belly and Bacon as the two Bs. The pork belly wasn't crispy and felt more like a piece of tenderloin. Good but not great. My sister's glass had lipstick on it (she doesn't wear lipstick). When this was pointed out to the waiter he was like "oops- I'll get a new one" but didn't apologize or do anything to make it right. He seemed inconvenienced by the fact she wanted a new glass. There are only two bathrooms. This is a bar and that's a problem. The outdoor seating allows dogs. They bring out a bowl of water for your dog. It was cute when the neighboring table had a Dalmatian puppy. But then a couple behind us brought in two dogs that could have been mistook for horses. They were at table level with our food. Folks had to move their tables around to accommodate the dogs. It was really obnoxious. This was our go to place whenever we were in downtown Blue Ridge. We've been coming here for years and never had a problem. Usually pretty decent burgers and local brew. Sad to say this is the last time we will be coming. Waited almost 30 minutes before we were even acknowledged. Finally got a server who said we weren't even her table but she'd take our order. Got our food after over an hour and had dried up fries and burgers. Asked for ketchup when 3 of the 4 of us had fries and got one side of ketchup. No refills. Stale buns. Messed up my son's order not once but twice. What the hell? I could have gone to Ingles and driven home and made better burgers in less time. That's bull. You can ask Steve the manager on duty. We spoke to him multiple times tonight. We got a whole 10% off and my son's burger comped. Our plates were super hot but the food was dried up. Cool little arcade for the kiddos (and big kids). Great beer selections and a lot of unique burger combos. The service was on point and the restaurant has a pretty cool feel to the inside. Good service and cool atmosphere. The food was just OK, not the best we have had in Blue Ridge. I had the OMG salad which was just meh. It was basically spring mix with a bunch of chow mein noodles and mixed nuts dumped on top. I asked for honey mustard dressing on the side and ended up with something that was not dressing, I think just spicy mustard. The salad was not worth spending $$$ on. My fiancé however was very satisfied with his sandwich special - the fat Elvis. A burger with peanut butter, bacon and chips on top. Come here for beer and friendly service. Not food. We came here for an early dinner, and let unpleased. I had the "Ruben". It came out really cold. The meat tasted odd. I can't describe it other than that. It was just odd in a bad way. The fries were plentiful but extremely salty. I also had a Bourbon cocktail that was really watered down. My friends generally agreed with the comments above even though they ordered different things. The service, though, was really friendly and attentive. The place also has shuffle board, darts and lots of tv. A good place for a beer and to hang out, but I wouldn't eat here. read more

Came here for dinner and a beer. Was pleasantly surprised for a bar they had really great tasting food. I had the Cuban and my wife had the BBLT. Food came out in a timely manner but by this time the rowdy bar patrons had ruined the mood. Our waiter was caught up paying attention to the bar patrons. This place is ok, it's not very inviting with all the rules and signs posted about only staying 90 minutes and the disclaimer menu that they give to parties with kids. Also, it was really dirty in there, didn't feel clean. The bathrooms were disgusting. This place says it's a kid friendly restaurant, but it's really not, it's just a bar with a kids menu. Their chicken nuggets were so over cooked, you could barely bite through them. We had to order a side of fries because fries didn't come with their meal. The food was ok, I like the originality of the menu, but it didn't taste great. Our waitress was definitely over worked, which showed in the slow service. We were a table of 4 and there for a full 90 minutes. I'd probably try this place again and give it another chance, but it's definitely more of an adult environment. They should ditch the kid friendly image though. read more

Stopped in here during our stay in blue ridge, GA. They are dog friendly on the patio, which is heated throughout the winter. Food was excellent, I had the arugula & pear salad (so yummy!) My husband had the Buffalo chicken burger which he loved. Great service, Megan Barb was attentive and made great suggestions. Fun spot, great service and excellent food! Terrible experience. I had the Buffalo Grilled Cheese sandwich, as did my son and daughter-in-law. It was the worst sandwich I have ever had. This after traveling around the world as a career. Stopped by this place after a long hard day of riding motorcycles through the curvy roads and taking the stairs at Tallulah Falls. We ordered the Mammoth over French fries and homemade pork rinds to start with. The signature burger was unique and tasty with a bourbon poached apple slice. What I really appreciate about this restaurant is their commitment to fresh local products and supporting sustainability - all with a cheeky undertone of "no whining allowed" bar humor. Honestly I really like the atmosphere and what they have going on there. It's a rock & roll kind of vibe and also they're all about helping the environment when it comes to how they operate. Our service was decent. It took about an hour to get our food which when we did get our food one of our guests didn't receive hers for another 15 minutes at-least. It kind of sucked due to the fact that by the time she received her food most of us were almost done. I also had ordered hot wings for an appetizer which had never got delivered to me until after I already received my main entree. Supposedly they gave my order of wings to the wrong table which means they had to remake mine but honestly I would of been just fine if they had told me beforehand and not after I asked about it. At that point I really didn't even want the wings because it was supposed to be shared with the group. All in all I'm not sure how I feel about the place. Stopped in for lunch one day. We were seated outside and it was very comfortable out there. My wife ordered a grilled romaine salad. She liked everything but the dressing so we swapped meals and she finished by hobb nob sandwich, smoked ham, caramelized onions, creamy brie cheese, and bourbon apple butter. The sandwich was great. Only downside to the visit was a server dropped a ketchup cup and it ended up on the back of my shirt, pants and shoes. The manager picked up the entire meal which was appreciated. Food is usually pretty consistent and good. Often the ambiance can be undesirable because of the noise. It's very difficult to have a conversation when the music (which is hard rock/heavy metal) is so loud. When I asked the hostess if she could lower the volume because we had a speaker near our table, she informed me that they don't have control over changing the music or volume...I find that very had to believe that the manager wouldn't have the ability to do so. We had a very friendly and attentive server. We ordered Grilled Shrimp with corn on the cob and fries, tacos with Mexican street corn and bacon, three cheese Mac & Cheese. The shrimp was fine, but for the price I would have preferred it shelled. The tacos were fine. The fries were obviously pre cooked and were under the warming lamp for quite a while. Dry, hard and flavorless. The "homemade ketchup" was nothing more than watery tomato sauce with a bit of cinnamon. Both the corn on the cob and Mexican street corn were clearly precooked a long time ago and were sooooo chewy, just inedible. The Bacon, three cheese Mac & cheese was a flavorless mess.
