HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! Do NOT go here THEY ARE SO RUDE! I got dip powder with tips and I left with my nails feeling like paper! Hoping they would get harder, the next TWO DAYS I would wake up and see the sides of my nails peeling! I went back to them, they fixed the two that were broken at the time but of course the WHOLE SET was was trash so more nails started peeling on the side! I called her back and asked her to do a fresh set and she argued with me and hung up the phone! Do NOT go here. I really tried to like this place, given the reviews. I went in Friday evening to relax and get a gel mani and pedi. I arrived around 6:20 pm. The only good thing I can say about this place is that they are clean. I didn't realize they closed at 7, but it makes sense with how quickly they were doing mani pedi (at the same time) The woman doing my manicure cut me on three different fingers because she was rushing, then immediately proceeded to put my hand under the UV light (umm...skin cancer!?) I was extremely uncomfortable because I couldn't rest my hands during the entire manicure. They never moved me a table to sit like a normal client! Every time I tried to move the manicurist told me not to. I was so upset and will never go back. As soon as I was done and was walking out they stampeded after me, they were locked up and in their car before I was in mine. I understand they wanted to go home after a long day, but they lost a client due to their rushing, did a crappy job on my manicure and have cuticle cuts on three fingers. Ok so I have tried a few salons now, and this salon has the best manicures by far. For 10 dollars they well double dip your hands into a paraffin wax, massage your back while the manicurist is doing your nails, then massage your back when your nails are drying! After 10 visits you get a free manicure! Be sure to have your card stamped. Also, they give you the option for chocolate wax on your eyebrows which is amazing! Completely cuts the normal redness out that you get from a wax by 80%! Still not ready to try the Pedicure there again as I was not satisfied with the callus treatment last time. read more

Been a fan since they opened, we're like "family" now!! Well kinda! They are clean, all the pedicure chairs work to my knowledge and Im always happy with the service! John, the owner is on top of everything that goes on there! Oh and my nails rarely chip as fast as they did when i went to other salons. My only advice is to be careful with the parafin. Came in for a kids pedi and not really pleased. I'm currently yelping while the manicurist is telling me why she can't do what I asked. My nine year old dances about four times a week. We came in specifically for a pedi to take some dead skin off. All they did was put her feet in cold water. I get that she's a kid and doesn't want it hot but seriously... Cold water. And she didn't even scrub her feet. All she did was paint her toes. No filing or anything. Not recommended for kids at all. Then she handed me back 5's like I was going to tip her over 25 percent for paint. I did give the place two stars for it's cleanliness. In two words: the best. In a few more words: I'm the kind of person who can always find something to complain about with a manicure. I've never had one where I was completely satisfied, until I went to Fiji Nail. The place is spotless and beautiful, and I didn't feel as though I was being rushed. Michelle did my nails, and she was so attentive. She's as anal as I am about my nails, and that was a huge selling point for me! Her tools were sterilized, her station was clean, and I left feeling fantastic. This was my first time at Fiji, and I will absolutely be a repeat customer. And I agree with the other reviewers, the guy there gave me a fabulous shoulder rub while my nails dried, it was such a treat. For ten bucks, this is a weekly luxury I'd be happy to pay for! read more

I don't usually get gel manicures because I think they ruin your natural nails, but on occasion in the summer or before a vacation I like to get one because it lasts for 2 weeks or longer. I recently got a gel manicure at Fiji. Within 4 days the color was bubbling up and looked awful. The sign in the store says the gel "lasts 2 weeks". I went back in to Fiji with my receipt and showed the owner my nails....all of which were bubbled up, and I asked him to re-do them. While he looked over my nails he actually peeled some of the gel off!!!! He said no, he couldn't fix them for free. If I had come in within a day or two, then maybe, but because I waited so long, he would not fix them for me. He said he wouldn't fix them because I could have ruined them myself by having my hands in chemicals like household products. He said he would be happy to re-do them, but I had to pay for it. I work in an office, I don't clean houses, I didn't swim in a pool or in the ocean.... Really bad customer service, and therefore I will never go back. read more

I moved to Stamford a few months ago, and have tried a handful of salons already, none of which I was really pleased with. I came to Yelp for suggestions, found Fiji, and tried it out this past weekend. It is definitely further for me (I live near downtown) than a bunch of other salons, but I think this will be my regular place going forward! My mani and pedi were both great, the lady (Beth) took her time with me and did not make me feel rushed, even though they were moderately busy at the time. I opted for a massage afterward, and the guy that gives the massages there is really good. I totally recommend this place - not one bad thing to say! I came home to tell my boyfriend how happy I was that I had finally found a great nail place! read more

Overall from the start, the owner was very friendly and the eyelash lady was very friendly, I paid for my eyelash extensions and then paid an additional for a 1 week touch up. The first set of eyelashes I had, I was a little disappointed with the look, I called them and said I wanted them more full etc, the owner told me that I had to get them changed in my week touch up - Fair enough. After my 1 week touch up my eyelashes looked great, I really liked them... until they all started falling out! I naturally have long lashes, you just cant see them until i put mascara on, so thought i would try extensions. I called on the next Thursday once again, saying im really dissapointed and that, they are all falling out. They said they would call me back on the Friday, they never did. I then called them and they told me to come in and have a look, I traveled all the way in again, and the owner told me it would be ANOTHER $40, I said, I don't feel that is reasonable as I paid extra for the original touch up and now they're all falling out after 4 days! So, she basically said i have to pay the extra or tough! Initially the service was good, minus a few waits, but the service after you say you're a little unsatisfied is just a lure for them to get more money! read more

I work in Stamford & live in NY and am pretty loyal to my Saturday nail salon location at home. But I'm swamped on the weekends, and really needed to find a place near work. I made a same day appt for a pedi today, and it's flawless. Polish job is outstanding. Incredibly accommodating, clean and friendly staff. Before I left I made my next appt b/c they are that good. Do not come here! I just moved to the area and was so excited because this place was so close to home... first and last time that I come here. I got a regular pedicure, and I don't know if it's a normal thing here not to include an exfoliating scrub nor attempt to get the dead skin off with the pumus rock, but let's just say that the only difference in my feet was the polish... moving onto the nails I asked for a new set. I did not know that they did not do acrylic or I would have asked for powder gel. I didn't make a big deal out of it and went along with the UV gel... Bad idea because it burned! I don't know if the nail tech was having a bad day, but the attitude definitely needed to be brought down a couple of notches. I asked for coffin shape, and when he proceeded to cut the sides of the extensions he was very aggressive, but I didn't say anything since his attitude was out of hand. The shape of the nails is off, they look like they are long lost cousins and were left on the thicker side. I paid a total of $68 for the service and still left a good tip (which I regret doing but I know it's hard times right now). I prefer having to drive 25 miles down to the salon I go to in Mamaroneck and pay for nails that I know I will be satisfied with then to come back to this place again. read more

So disappointing. The polishes are definitely watered down. The manicurist had to redo my nails 3 times because the brushes in the jars were, "bad." When she finally finished the polish on my nails was so thick that it took forever to dry and once it finally had all of my nails had tiny bubbles on them. There was no way I was trying again. The files were completely worn down. The pumice stone she tried to use on my foot was full of grime from previous customers. Will never be back. Go to salon Finesse down the street and ask for Helen. I have been going to Fiji for gel manicures for 9 weeks. Great run for a gel manicure. Sofy is amazing. My brother went in today and bought two mani pedi gift certificates for Mother's Day. Because he used a credit card they charged him an additional 14$. My mom and I went today to redeem them. I used the certificates and went to the pay the remaining balance in cash to avoid the 14$ cc fee. The owner wouldn't let me use cash. So Fiji got my family today for 30$ in cc fees. The service was great but I felt taken advantage of with the fees. read more

Nice atmosphere, but the lady that was doing my nails and eyebrows was nasty. Several time I I asked her to stop doing something and she completely ignored me. I asked her to make sure the wax is not boiling hot before she applies it to my face and she still managed to burn my eyebrows. Maria did my nails before she is much better. read more

Very disappointed just recently I decided to stop by and have my manicure done at Fiji !! While I was getting my nails done I asked for 10 min massage during which the staff decided to start cleaning the place they were taking trash out putting new garbage bags, taking at loud in "their Language" etc so disturbing! After my manicure I had to dry my nails the staff continue cleaning and all of the sudden the they turn the lights off and most of them have left the place !! Yes I had to sit in the dark and dry my nails while the owner/ person in charge came to me and said " your nail dry now " awesome I thought my nails were far from being dry ! Also to make things worse I was also asked to leave the tip!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! Would never go back to this place again! read more

Terrible! I have been getting my nails done as a regular thing for a while now. I figured I would try a place a little closer to home. I have been there twice now and each time my gel nails crack and break. Never has this happened except when I went there . The second time I went they didn't tell me they were going to charge me extra to fix/fill my nails, some had to be redone because of the breakage... On top of a fill the charged me an extra $50!!!! The woman cut me twice, had me bleeding trying to fix the mess from the first time and still charged me almost $100 when I only went in for a fill! Single mom here and doing my nails is the one thing i do for myself so you can imagine how bad that bill hurt! Never will I go again and I wouldn't recommend going there! I have only been in a few times...but, intend to continue getting my pedicures at Fiji. The place is very clean and bright - I love the big flower on the back wall - and my feet are SO soft after the pedicure - and the polish lasts a full 3 weeks. It is on Hope street - but they have a parking lot in back, so you don't have to worry about parallel parking. You will be happy if you give them a try. read more

Not at all impressed with their manicures. I had to request them to re-file because my nails were uneven and I had much more ragged skin around my nails then when I started. Also, I requested a CND Vynl manicure and the manicurist kept trying to convince me to use a different brand topcoat and basecoat. Any good manicurist knows that that type of polish doesnt work with a basecoat and you need to use their branded topcoat to work. Had to request polish to also be redone as looked like someone did it with two left hands. Terrible. read more

Yes the place is reasonably large, and not crowded, and yes a manicure is only ten dollars and yes you get a shoulder rub while your nails are drying, but combine the tip for the manicure and the shoulder rub ( which seems mandatory and believe me they expect a tip), it adds up to 17-20 dollars.I Also, my nail polish was all bubbly when it dried and the lady(sally) tried to solve it by putting some quick drying solution on it, and when it was clear I didnt look too happy, the guy who gave me the massage dabbed a bit more on my nails like he knew what he was doing and told me it was all good. Really? Im not a very fussy person, so trust me, dont go here. My nails started becoming undone by the second day. read more

For a more expensive price for pedicures, I expected great service and quality. However, it was not worth even a penny. The pedicure took 5 minutes long and they only put one coat of polish. I have paid less for a 20 minute pedicure that have lasted weeks. I would not recommend this establishment, in fact keep drivibg by!!!! read more
